    In the words of Israel Regardie, "Whoever says that Crowley
was a Satanist and devil worshiper, it would be worth taking care of
your mental health."  Crowley's references to Regardie's Satan
explains itdesire to shock the public, to produce
impression of a daring, sarcastic and intelligent person (Regardie.
"Eye in a triangle").  Let's turn to the works of the
Crowley to understand whether it is acceptable to refuse so harshly
to this outstanding figure in true "Satanism". John Simonds
literary agent and biographer of Crowley, writes: "Crowley's philosophy
takes a little of everything, now from one, now from the other... but... more,
than anyone else, he was a Satanist. "I serve my great Lord
Satan, he wrote in one of his most sincere confessions, - and
to the entire august Council, including Beelzebub, Lucifer,
Asmodeus, Belphegor, Baal, Adrammelech, Lilith and Naemu" (John
Simonds, "The Great Beast").



    RESTORATION OF DEVIL WORSHIP



    In his major work, Magick in Theory and Practice, Crowley
describes how Satan is included in his complex
cosmology: the Aeon of Horus, which Crowley believed he was
chosen and intended to notify humanity, includes
formula "FIAOF".  The letter "O" in this formula is "sublime"
The 'Devil' (as well as the second secret Eye) in the teachings of initiates
Mountain... This 'Devil' is called Satan or Shaitan, and people
those ignorant of his teachings treat him with fear...".
So according to this idea we can without shadowdoubts
restore "devil worship".  "So this 'Devil' is in
reality Capricorn, the Goat conquering the highest mountains
peaks, the Divinity, which, having manifested itself in man, transformed
him in Aigipan, the All-One."



    DEFINITION OF THE DEVIL



    Thus, Crowley's idea of the "Devil" is not so
far from the ideas of modern Satanists.   Crowley
states that "The Devil does not exist" but then continues his

servant of Satan, "the Devil, our Lord <...> whose magical
the number is 666, just like his servant the Beast" (Crowley).
Occult writer KennethGrant, Crowley's former student and head
English lodge of the OTO, adds that “this whole ritual
represents the invocation of Shaitan (Satan), or Set", and
Crowley's goal is unity "with his Angel, Shaitan-Aivaz."



    In Crowley's cosmology, Satan is the "Sun-Father, the thrill of Life,
blazing Cosmic Energy", solar-phallic Flow. B

Set/Satan/Shaitan, in which, according to Grant, "is centered
magical energies of the New Aeon."



    THE CULT OF SHAITAN



    Grant, in contrast to Regardie, writes that telemic
Crowley's philosophy (synthesis of Nietzscheanism, Eastern and Western
mysticism, gnosticism and mythology, presented in an impressive
poetic language) is Satanism, or Shaitanism. According to
Granta, Shaitan is the Chaldean form of the Egyptian Set. "Cult
Shaitan was installed in Sumer by the prophet Yezid... Crowley... resurrected
the cult of Shaitan, or Set" (Grant, "Beyond the Circles of Time").
Crowley equated Shaitan with his unconscious (St.
Guardian Angel);  Baphomet, the idol of the Templars, Crowley took in
as one of his names, equating him with the 'Devil'
(Crowley, "777 and Other Kabbalistic Texts").To whom, except
inspired Satanist, the following lines may belong: “To my
