Blanche Barton, The Secret Life of a Satanist: Authorized
biography of Anthony LaVey. Barton became a confidant and
LaVey's secretary to write his biography. From the introductory
chapter we learn that LaVey was born on April 11, 1930, under
sign of Aries. Among eo ancestorsthere were French, Alsatians, Germans,
Russians, Romanians, Gypsies and Jews. At the age of seven he became interested
occult and supernatural phenomena, consulted with
his grandmother (half-Gypsy, half-Jewish) about books, and she
conveyed to him the traditions of her people. Not content
popular manuals on the occult, LaVey discovered that
the most valuable sources are textbooks on practical hypnosis, on
using imagination as well as Lovecraft's history. Lavey was
an individualist, but the other boys recognized him as a leader.
The school could not give him knowledge in those areas that caused him
his genuine interest, and Anthony sought as soon as possible

year he dropped out of school and spent most of his free time
in billiard rooms, in the company of gamblers, loafers and prostitutes.
He liked to lead a double life: he continued to study
painting, music, magic and philosophy. Helping your uncle
to develop a new business in Las Vegas, LaVey met
such major figures of the shadow world as Bugsy Siegel and his
assistants, and learned their social philosophy: everything in the world -
swindlers, not excluding the church; the one who wants to be ahead of everyone, recognizes this fact and turns the scam to his advantage so that

began to study the magical effect of music on animals and people.
Soon among his friends were the great stars of the arena.
In addition, he met the preachers who came to the circus
and trying to profit from the public there, and discovered that,
contrary to all their religious tales, the main driving incentive for
people are carnal desires.

Becoming a police photographer, LaVey faced the worst
manifestations of human nature and came to the conclusion that
there is a personal god who would take care of
humanity. Man himself must become his own god and accept
responsibility for your actions. LaVey felt the need not for

LaVey was assigned to study “wonderful” police calls - all sorts of
strange rustling noises in basements and the like. Moreover, he
used his abilities as a hypnotist, and over time
clients began asking him to use more unconventional
forms of assistance, such as charms and spells. Thanks to its unusual
activities and a tame leopard, by that time he had already turned his attention to

conducted rituals and public seminars. In 1966
The Church of Satan was formed. Since the mid-70s Lavey
withdrew from public life, giving interviews and lectures
to his daughters, while he himself focused on other areas of Satanism.
LaVey associated magical power with a solitary life. He determined
Satanists as rare individuals who intuitively strive
to be aloof from mass thinking, stereotypical life
style and everyday tastes in art. Music remained one of
his main hobbies; in addition, he was interested in old
films and the production of “humanoids”. The latter is considered
almost the main perspective of Satanism; thanks to him Lavey
found a solution to many modernproblems of humanity:
artificial assistants will allow human creativity to become
truly free.

LaVey firmly believes that Satanism will eventually become
leading religion in the United States, citing as an example the growing number of young
people who deify Satan as the "Rebel King". He's confident in
that the wave of anti-Satanist hysteria, spurred

Blanche Barton. - Even if you are lucky and you learn some
details of his life, it will still be very little."

The philosophy of brotherhood has undergone modifications. Dr. Flowers
attracts secret documents of the brotherhood that have become property
the public as a result of internal disagreements in society;
In addition, he received assistance in his research from several
representatives of the Brotherhood of Saturn. "Fire and Ice" is the only one
in the world a book about the "Brotherhood of Saturn".

    The brotherhood's cosmology is Luciferian-Gnostic
character. The central place in it is occupied by the planet Saturn,
embodying the highest (Luciferian) and the lowest (satanic)
aspects whose influence on the Earth (along with Uranus) will be especially
expressed in the Age of Aquarius. Initiates of the Brotherhood of Saturn
focus on the "highest aspect", believing that Lucifer

are: practicality, forethought, constructiveness,

and self-discipline. Negativeproperties of this planet -

The characteristics of Saturn were assumed by the planet Uranus:
humanity, friendliness, kindness, independence,
originality, inventiveness, hatred of restrictions;
negative traits - eccentricity, capriciousness, rebellion.
The synthesis of these characteristics represents the Saturn-Uranian
complex that makes up the philosophy of the "Brotherhood of Saturn". Saturn
considered the "Great Judge" and the bearer of reason and understanding,

The Book of Genesis, which brought knowledge (gnosis) to humanity. "Brotherhood"
Saturn" was formally founded in 1928 by Gregor A.
Gregorius and other initiates from the Pansophical Lodge and the OTO.
Among the founders of the Brotherhood of Saturn were members of the German OTO,
those who took Crowley's Thelema; however, the Brotherhood of Saturn retained
independence from Crowley and OTO. Followers of Crowley
adhered to the following principles: "The law is exhausted
injunction: do what you want. Love is the Law." To these
principles of the "Brotherhood of Saturn" added the words "love without
compassion." Dr Flowers states that this reflects"Thelemic-Nietzschean" philosophy of the Saturnians, severe,
ruthless self-overcoming on the path to individual
Godlikeness. Nietzschean loneliness was also cultivated,
alienation from the masses. The Brotherhood of Saturn was organized by
Masonic model and represented a synthesis of OTO/Tantric
sexual magic, Gnosticism, Thelemic, astrology, alchemy,
Rosicrucianism and traditions of various religions. Dr. Flowers
describes several rites of the Brotherhood of Saturn, including
sexual ritual "Degree of Pentalpha", on which other authors
only indirectly referenced.
