Events - A report by visiting the St. Petersburg party CHAOS CONSTRUCTION'2000 from Andy Harchenko.

    Yoooouuu!, All?


    As some of you know on August 19-20 in St. Petersburg
held komputernoe pati Chaos Construction 2000. At the party
should have the following platform: ZX Spectrum, PC,
Amiga, BC. So a little story about how it was:


            Day 0 "Arrival" (August 18, 15:36):


    We (33.32 and 33.40) arrived on the train # 49 to the main 
station. The first fiasco was waiting for us directly on 
arrival, as Nobody met, and in fact should have been. = (We 
hung out at the station things left in the chamber and went to 
see the city. City general nothing quite beautiful, but oldish. 
The main mode of transport is the subway and trolley buses. 
Walking through the streets, we Figel quietly with the price of

and Coca-Cola pleased.

and screws. Compo machines were not yet connected to the 
projector and audio. The forms for voting and tickets in

5-meter ladder and tried to install lighting equipment. Someone 
drinking beer. Someone asleep. As we were told this morning was 
nehily buster. In Generally, before the party left 12:00 and

          Day # 1 "First Plant" (August 19, 10.00):


    Waking up, we found that it still moved, in

On the ZX 4kb intro one is not gone. BC at all and could not

fancy Spectrum, cpu Z80 a series of 20mhz, 4mb ram, HDD, more 
hires regimes. It was shown recently, even on it to achieve -

generally closer to 19.00 the first day came to an end. Police
seems to have tired of watching and stayed only one machine and 
that aside. People began to disperse. Well, we both do not have

in 2 nights brought a notebook and began to copy the work. All

            Day # 2 "Final cut" (20 Aug. 8.30):



    Waking up, I felt even worse than at night.
After studying the situation around, I decided to jerk with 
33.40 at the station to take the train tickets before 5061, and 
on the way to eat. Beginning the second day was scheduled for 
12.00 noon. On the way to metro We have been in a coma. I 
almost overslept my stop. Dragged to the station we _bez 
problem_ took a couple of tickets for our home Train # 49 and 
decided to go stay one's stomach. But it is not so easy in 9.30 
in Peter inexpensive meal in a decent cafe. 

    As we learned in the capital of # 2 lunch taken after 10.00,

dying from hunger and fatigue mixed with increasing anger at the

The start was scheduled for 12.00. But something did not 
converge and no not allowed.



    In short at 13.20 entrance finally opened. Cheers,

Some flooded form from the first day and a half tearing forms 
handed organizers. Next began PC'Amiga hand draw gfx compo.

Everything went pretty well, it was shown 33 works. Then
started PC alternative multi channel music. And then my
consciousness is again beginning to ask out. Glitches with the 
sound of steel even more pronounced than on the Spectrum, not 
only that one column constantly dying and half of music in 
general is almost inaudible was. Type that sat at the mixer 
seems no fumbling that how cool. Shorter than something like 
scroll through all the music. Some jumped on stage and danced 
to muse, strobe lighting, infrosvetom and soundlights. This is 
somewhat defused situation. Several people filmed it all on 
video. 


    After the music started and break intros compo. Everything 
is nothing but as it turned out not who has to steer the PC.

it should. Were Showing 256.512 and 4kb intros. Then a break, 
and 64 kb intros PC'Amiga. The first was shown working on 
Amiga. Well, what can say, for 96 it would certainly cool, but 
for 2000 only weak. Next kerf 64 kb intro PC from PROXIUM, it 
was a shock, Hall clapped almost throughout the entire show

work! Definitely it was the first place. It was further intro 
from THROB, too, very fancy. In my opinion, there was another

work, as I recall from Israel, but it was just
funny.


    Next was adjourned 10min and PC demo compo!? Going out
on the street, I realized that the people of markedly 
diminished. Really present somewhere in the 250-300chel against 
450-500 on the first day. People like always drank beer, 
smoked, gave interviews to restless reporter, talking.



    And PC demo compo. All had 6 papers. Virtually all
demos deserved attention. Authors of course it was interesting
look at their demo on the big screen. Everything was even
well, if you do not pay attention to sound and golimy
higher brightness of the projector. But it seems like everyone 
has been all equal. And then the first place to immediately 
determine. When they began twist DeMouy of AND from Voronezh, 
the hall exploded again applause.


    And so ended the demo component. Came on stage and Random
declared that such party is over! Initially, of course nobody
believed, because There were several competitions, PC 
traditional multichannel music, chip music, wild compo, MP3 
music, and can something else. But as it turned out it was a 
reality, about diplomas, too, remains ever known, not to mention

prizes. All pushed out of the room promising to soon announce
results. 30 minutes. On the street a man came out and called
all inside. All sat waiting for the results. But not so
all just to Chaos Construction. It turned out that all was
handed over 117 forms, and when it was attended by about 500 
people. And besides, is not counted all the forms and it is pre-

results. In short just announced ZX 4kb intro and ZX Demo
compo. Thus kidanuv PC and Amiga. Not only will the winners
were not given any diplomas or awards. That's all. All polite
asked to vacate the premises. Promised to send diplomas
mail, and the results indicate in all imaginable and 
unimaginable forms of communication. I think not cost you 
describe the mood of many people. Although it was just my 
reason is quite normal. The truth for us all a bit complicated 
by the fact that prior to our Trains were still about a day. A 
place for the night now was not.
