  Hi! Finally it happened: Voyager # 2.



     During the time elapsed since the first
numbers have been several important (and not) of events that I 
want to mention, and in this introductory article.




     Past



     The most significant, in my opinion, the event was a 
festival demo-makers "FunTop'98", passed on August 22-23 in 
Moscow. I myself did not go there, as not very fond of this 
thing (although, and participated in writing several dem), but 
all other DIO-GEN'ovtsy visited on the first day. For this 
trip, they have prepared very thoroughly, armed with a tape 
recorder, cameras, party diskettes the first issue of our 
magazine. The only pro that they have forgotten - is the Tula 
beer;) 

     Came back tired but very proud that
brought a tremendous report and a bunch of photos, magazines 
and fresh programs, have brought new people ... Unfortunately, 
our employee did not have time to finish Dr.Dash their contest 
work, and therefore not participated in the festival. But it is 
not surprising, as rather, a typical Tula programmers.

In the same way the team Bitmunchers (to which
owned and yours truly) missed the
"Enlight-96" with his work titled "Spazm".
Although there is a lack of time was just one of the
reasons, or rather to say "consequence" of the antics
one of the participants - MEGAFIRE (now known as
Fyrex), who decided to make a Real-time Coder Compo,
while still in Tula. No sooner had he and the "Enlight-97"
and "Funtop-98", but that's another story ...


     Another enjoyable event of the summer was
coming to visit us Sergei Kolotova (g.Shadrinsk)
sufficiently well known for his publications in the journal 
ZX-Review and several successful compact procedures in 
assembler (some of which Our Dr.Dash sometimes uses, by virtue 
of innate lazy 8-)). Serzh directed to "FunTop" and stay

in our town for a week, during which reporters VOYAGER'a 
tormented him with questions, slipped under the nose of the 
recorder and cameras clicked ... Finally, laying out all the 
ins and outs, Sergei went further and visited on his way to 
Moscow Lazer Soft in Obolensk and took second place in the

4k intro compo. Large Illustrated (a little
messy) interview with Sergei Kolotova we put in the room.


     Despite the fact that DIO-GEN is a newly organized group 
(although some of us Spectrum deal for about ten years), and our

magazine is also still young, we were very happy abundance of 
letters, parcels, phone calls. If, after Signal number of 
responses did not exceed ten, then after VOYAGER # 1, it has 
grown almost an order of magnitude. We praise the (often) 
abused (sometimes), ask advice (thank you, too), even began to 
send finished articles! 

     The fact that we are asked to include in the room free 
trial version of some programs I no longer say: even in the 
first issue was a pre-release game "Mirror". Here in this room 
you'll see ... Stop! Again I forward anticipating ...


     Continuing the theme of postage, we note
the fact that "ECHOLOT - our section of critics - also bearing

     In addition to all this news, it is necessary to mention
about one event that caused us to survive
some unpleasant moments.

     In the process of information, the first issue I have 
changed place of work. At the local drive of your computer

archive of about 300 MB. Imagine my

things, there were two dozen Spectrum emulator, more

Two thousand toys, almost all of my achievements, and the like. 
All this I have been collecting for six months almost without 
getting out of the Internet. Now it is necessary more great 
work to restore the lost (some only links to the sites should 
be remember about fifty).


     Assess the impact of such barbarism is very
difficult. We wanted to put in this room a large multi-level 
game from Gremlin Graphics, which is like anywhere else did not 
appear ... Were in the plans and several fresh interviews with 
the authors of programs ... Alas, have to wait a little longer. 

     Also, having lost almost all my mail, which
came to my address. Therefore, I have a big

     Finishing work on a second number, you can

     I finally completed the PC and its close began work on a 
new version of the editor of the proportional print magazine 
(as the old was written and a half hours a day, two or three 
times a week, he sat down again at my computer, I have managed 
to forget what I wrote last time, you can imagine

me still cursing when the editor finds
one opportunity per million, and still be dropped:). Also, the 
third number, I'm going to speed up the 30 percent rate display 
and empower viewer.


     The plans for the slightly more distant future - Issue 
adventyur collections, grouped by manufacturer's instructions. 
They will be distributed, as a separate supplement to the 
journal. But it is rather likely to happen after the New Year.


     Dr.Dash continues to improve shell
magazine, despite my protests (I always thought,
that all had to think about and implement back in
the first issue, and then the shell should not be externally
change at all!). Also, it is again something kodit,
probably going to send work to ARTCOMP.

     NEXT-STOP distributes the magazine, trade, correspondence 
with friends, handling Mail and finishing papers.


     Our correspondent DUDE continues to fight with a soldering 
iron hands, connecting to Spectrum all that is possible. In the 
future it is going to continue the series of articles devoted 
to computer "Profi".
