I'll tell you honestly - I've been wanting to
write a text like this... Yes, everything is somehow
put it off until later. And so, completely
accidentally fell into my hands
a thin book with an intricate
title: "Brief description of functions
Professional Shadow Expansion
Computer Monitor service "Scorpion ZS
256 Turbo". After looking through it a little, I realized:
This is a sign from Above that there is more to wait
you can't!
I give you my word of honor - not a single one
I didn’t correct the words and didn’t add anything
his. I just retyped the word in
word, taking the courage to comment
just some special pearls. In general,
Scorpio users will understand me! Union: Scorpion, mOA,
and Exess team dedicated to -
Yes...
...Initially it was on the computer
64K ROM chip, and under shadow
service monitor (TSM) was used a little
more than 1bKb. As functions expand
this volume of firmware was completely
busy. It was assumed that part of the software
called Professional (!)
Expansion and containing the missing
functions will be located in RAM, and
supplied on floppy disks. However, in
in the process of creating the program appeared
ideas that were impossible to implement
"squeeze" even into such increased
frames.
Note: Let's do some math. Volume
floppy disks - approximately 72 okb. And comrades
they claim that this was not enough for them. How
could this be? Obviously there
windowsO.1 should have been located!
...To all that has been said, it should be added,
that the operating time of a number of functions, even after
optimization for speed, left much to be desired
the best.
Note: I dare to assume that after
optimization, operating speed has decreased
by another 25% (Copyleft) mOA :8)
It was decided to increase the ROM capacity
computer by adding Prof.Extension there.
Until recently we refused
installation of such ProfPZUs on ordinary
computers, as part of the new features
“I couldn’t keep up” with the computer (!). However
further optimization made it possible to remove
these restrictions, without accelerating, however,
work (Pearl!!! - note).
Unexpectedly (!) it turned out to be possible
increase the ROM capacity without any
computer improvements. A beautiful one was found
(!) and the original (!) method - instead
a regular ROM chip in the same socket
a miniature board with a ROM type is inserted
27010 or 27020, also available
on the panel.
...To reduce the space occupied
memory copy files, you can try
use data compression. For
this needs to be translated into the Save & Load menu
the Compression checkbox is set to On. Item
Degree allows you to select the size of the "window"
viewing, on which the degree depends
compression and operating time.Note: I remember being stupid all the time
included compression. So, gens-4
I was busy for two minutes (!!!).
The relationship between these quantities
straight, although not linear. Note that
the larger this parameter (maximum
value 254 (!!!)), the greater the degree
compression, however the operating time may
make up to 5 minutes (!) per bank
memory (!!! And the maximum compression is
5%). Compressor applied
asymmetrical - reverse process
data unpacking proceeds by an order of magnitude
faster (well, I don’t know... - note)
...Manipulators supported
software built into the computer
provision - in particular, it is possible
selection of menu items.
Basic words of the fort system
analyzer (printed with abbreviation):
NOP - no operation (useful command!
-note).
DUP - duplicate the contents of a vertex
stack. A copy of the top one is created on the stack.
element.
SWAP - swapping two elements by
top of the stack.OVER - copying the second from the top
stack element. A copy is placed on
top of the stack.
ROT - cyclic shift of the top three
stack elements.
DROP - removing the top element
stack.
+ - get the value of the sum of two
top elements of the stack.
-,/,* - difference, quotient, product
:-)
AND,XOR,OR - get value
logical operation on the top two
stack elements.
NOT - invert the value,
located at the top of the stack.
= - True if the elements are equal, in
otherwise False.
BIT - place on top of stack
the value of byte number n1 in the element
n2.
RD - True if the command reads
from memory, and False if not read
is happening.
WR - the same, for the record.
ACF - pushes to the top of the stack
true if the command uses
access to memory location, for other commands
the value False is placed.
...Foreach file in memory must
be allocated a special 28 (!, note)
byte area-control descriptor
file (fcb) and a buffer of at least 1
sector.
...The subfunction r_ms is like
repeated execution of the r_sec function, with
the only difference is that the meaning
the value specified in the dma field does not change. B
In case of an error, it is assumed that all sectors
didn't count.
Below are details of the changes and
additions to regular ROMs and Professional ROMs. K
Unfortunately, not everything is included in this list.
innovations (what a pity, what rulez would be
! - note),appearing as we worked.
It is accepted that regular ROMs are numbered 2.xx
and version code starting from 0, and ProfPZU -
version number, starting from 3.0 and version code,
starting from 64.
Note: Printed with abbreviation, because. them
there are 3 pages of very small text.
2.3 (1) no information.
2.4a (3) Reassembler changed,
print routines from 48Basic,
added call via rst8 code 86h for
printscreen.
2.4b (3) Changed menus: combined
keyboard menu, added selection item
board speed, output error
disk directory from the monitor.
2.4c (3) Fixed output error
catalogue. Error detected: not
normal speed is set
operation, the mode is incorrectly indicated in
Slow team.
2.4d (3) Fixed bug related to
with speed setting.
2.5a (3) Started embedding file
systems for monitor disk operations.
2.5e (6) Most likely fixed
positioning error on standard
floppy disks, leading to incorrect
recording a file from the monitor. For this
the general check subroutine was removed and
settings to disk.
2.60 (7) Analyzed correctly
no floppy disk in the drive.
2.6a (7) Minor bug fixed.
2.7a (8) Bugs fixed
reassembler (non-essential)
Note: Only hl was printed instead of bc and
lx instead of af ;-)
2.90 (11) Removed the About menu. Sometimes
serial number is not issued.
2.90 (12) Fixed issue of serial
numbers.2.91 (14) Minor
cosmetic changes here and there
optimized for speed (probably again
A new brake has been introduced, approx.)
2.93 (15) Purely test version for
ProfPZU. Doesn't work.
2.93 (15) Purely test version for
ProfPZU. Works.
2.94 (16) Except for re-enlargement
disk constants for working with slow
disk drives, second block added
index pulse check after reset
VG93, required for turbo boards.
Note: Here mOA is probably driving a blizzard about
slow disk drives. The whole point is that
Each sector is recorded byte by byte
(or even bitwise :-)), and the subroutine
moving the head to the adjacent track
eats up 100 frames at best. And this
despite the fact that the monitor has a direct
access to VG93 ports!!!
2.95 (18) Some changes to
NMI response program to support
modem :-
3.0b (64) Completely changed
keyboard maintenance routine
(read - due to the fact that when
destroyed system variables action
INKEY$ tokenbecomes unpredictable
it's time to write your own polling routine
keyboards. Minus CHKb of free space in
ROM). Disk drives are very slow
operations (don't be complex, mOA, we
We understand perfectly well that this is a consequence
increasing time constants for
slow disk drives ;-))
3.0c (64) To disk operations
added work with entire sectors
(apparently, Mr. Zonov realized that people are not
will understand byte-by-byte reading from disk...
:-))
3.0d (65) Increased wait delay
index pulse, necessary for
some drives (of course, of course, Mr.
mOA, we understand everything. Calm down, you
It's bad to be nervous).
3.2a (72) Fixed non-exit error
to boot from floppy disks in menu 128 BASIC.
3.40 (74) TR-DOS bug fixed,
associated with issuing an erroneous command -
usually positioning - at the beginning of each
command cycle.
3.9a (89) Defect fixed, thanks
for whom the exit to TR-DOS did not work
menu 128 BASIC.
3.9b (90) ROM fixes for
proper team workFormat in
is-dos.
3.9c (91) Output works again
TR-DOS from menu 128 BASIC.
3.9d (92) Acceleration of printing
characters (probably via plot, note).
3.9e (93) Bug fixes
previous version.
3.9f (94) Sound item in the menu.
Note: And how is it that such a genius Mr. mOA is not
was able to provide complete mute
at the entrance to TSM?
4.01 (97) Fixed a bug when
tracing the ret command.
In the near future there are plans to expand functions
shadow service monitor (I don’t know how
you, but I’m already scared - approx), related
with support for devices installed on
SMUC controller.
In addition, work is underway to
Russification of TSM(and, note: in
the shadow market uses a full-fledged 256
symbolic font, and from Russian letter codes
For some reason #80 is subtracted).
In addition, an operational
independent (how is it? - approx) system
pseudo-multitasking.
