Speccyfan
1. Well, as it should be for a start Name, Nicknames, age, place
habitats :)))))
- Konovalov Yuri Leonidovich aka Speccyfan aka 2:CH53/2O.53
(coming soon 2:Ch53/53) Born in 1981.
2. Historical Motherland :)
- I was born and live in Polotsk, I really like my city :)
3. Well... A straight forward question :) Have you ever been to Grodno???
Do you want to visit? If so, how many times, what did you like?
didn’t like it, Impressions??? Compare with your city?
What is the purpose of the visit, will you come again???
- Yes it was :) In May 2OOS, I came to LVEE'2OOS (Linux
Vacation/Eastern Europe) It was a festival dedicated to Linux
and open source software in general. It took place at the Khimik camp site, in general
We had a great time, if I’m not mistaken, we drank 250 liters
beer for H days %) Which was specially delivered. Were among
Linuxoids and former Spectrumists, as practice shows,
Spectrum school is good, all the people who are now
are high-level specialists, at one time they started
from Speckie :) I’ll definitely come in 2006.
Ch. Do you know the Grodno spektrumists? Even former ones?
Who do you think is the most prominent representative? :) Name it
who do you know personally? Who do you maintain relationships and contacts with?
- Unfortunately, I just don’t remember who is from Grodno and who is from where :)
So I'm afraid to make a mistake :) You probably met someone on
Millennium Demoparty (I attended three).
5. Tell us a little about your biography - how did you spend your youth?
:)))
- Well... I don’t remember how I was born, I was probably drunk or stoned
why ;) At the age of 7, my father soldered RADIO-RK8b, if anyone doesn’t know, then
This is on a KPS8OVM8O 2MHz stone and 32 kilos of RAM. Later he soldered
Speckies, butsimple Ch8 and with a tape recorder. At the same time in
the school was installed 28b-e, without screws, however, I wrote there in BASIC
and on Spectrum BASIC at home :) Then I studied at the school there
there were corvettes and Ch8b-e, again BASIC, wrote all sorts of tests
for students.
b. How did Fate, the villainess, bring you together with Specki? How did it happen
what time (short story)
- As I already said, his father soldered it because at that time it was
fashionable :) in the year 1988. It was Baltic, then I read
advertisement in a newspaper about the sale of a disk drive for the Spectrum,
got excited, went and bought a Bulgarian for 15 sullen raccoons :)
In general, I came home and put it next to the Speckie and realized that
something is missing ;) We quickly found a wonderful one in Polotsk
ironworker - Dimstudio :-) Who screwed the controller to me
floppy drive and soldered the ru'shek on the second floor in one go and I had
128brains Later I started turning my car around and couldn’t
stop :) as a result, I got it in a PC case,
on two boards, with a buffered processor, assemble
such a computer: 512 kilos of frame (two sims), three disk drives (one 3.5',
two 5.25'), AY, CMOS, HDD (6 MB), CD-ROM, Hayes Modem (USR
1CHOO using the Shepelevskaya circuit with interruptions), extended screen
up to 512x192 (Lara Croft mail editor and some others worked with it
my programs), a good debugger (Baltikovsky) was called via UMI,
Kempston mouse and joy stick, printer, and a bunch of other small things
bells and whistles :)
7. What is your main specialization on Spectrum? Right away
did you come to her? Did your education help you with this?
- My specialty was as a coder, I came when I realized that somehow
normal programs are not written in BASIC :-) unfortunately it’s too late
If I got hold of the documentation, I would have started this sooner.
8. Speaking of hares! What is your specialty - where did you study?
- I’m self-taught, Novopolotsk 28th school didn’t help me much
in my later life, I am generally a KIP member,
control and measuring instruments should have been serviced and not
CISCO ;-) And I’m still too lazy to go to university :-) But I have to - at work
require. By the way, I work at the Information Computing Center of the Vitebsk branch of BelZhD,
system administrator.
9. What groups were you in, are you a member of, what projects have you released?
Which one do you think is the most successful?
- We never created a group... There were several people, but
somehow they weren’t organized. My projects are little known :) a bunch
packaged toys with intros and opportunities to turn on the eternal
life, a couple of gifts, all sorts of jokes, some utilities, all this
maybe wandering around somewhere else, you should try to read yours
floppy disks, maybewhich is what remains.
9a. Do you have any projects that remain so? B
dreams?
- Yes, of course, there was an idea to write my own OS with a bias towards Linux,
corresponded with UeOS developers, even wrote several
drivers for this OS, but then the developer stopped responding
on parcels with disks and letters :( I started writing something of my own,
I even almost wrote a pseudo-multitasking crap... The idea was
like this, press UMI to save all registers and 128 kilos in the upper
memory pages, then return to launch another application,
do the same, then change them as needed. B
result in having simultaneously running programs with which
you can work in turns.
But it didn’t always work :) I don’t remember exactly, it doesn’t seem
it was possible to determine whether interrupts were enabled or disabled... or
something like that.
1O. How did Spectrum affect your future life?
(Acquaintances, connections, choice of profession) did the hobby influence
your future destiny?
- It was the Spectrum that influenced my destiny! I don’t even want to think about who
I would if I didn't have it. Naturally thanks
I met a lot of people with whom I now communicate/work.
11. Your first Spectrum was??? (what?) what were they like next?
- Well, I wrote, the first was Baltic-Ch8, then I turned it into
Baltic-512 :)
11a. Which model do you think is the best?successful and advanced?
- My own :) By the way, the Baltic board was very successful.
12. What is the Spectrum, zx scene for you at the moment.
You are doing something, just interested in news or for a long time
sent all this??? :))) if so, what, how and when??
- I’m just interested in the news, something struck me as nostalgic,
I surfed the net and was amazed :) the platform is still not completely
died :) And sometimes thoughts come to mind... take a soldering iron, solder
broken wires and start it again :) But not enough
time. I would also like to do something like UZIX like
on Yamaha MSX. Without multitasking, of course.
13 What ZX sites do you visit? If you are visiting?
- Yes, zx.rk.ru, trd.speccy.cz (zx.da.ru).
1H. Your attitude towards Emulators, which you have used, is necessary
Is this even a thing? Because we were arguing with Sinus... :) Darling
(emulsion) maybe eat? Which one is the best???
- For DOS/Windows - steals, the main thing is to configure it, for Linux -
fuse is also a good emulsion.
15. Name your favorite on the Spectrum DEMO, GAME, Uewspaper,
Magazine (or several in order of coolness)
- Demo - Vibrations, Satisfaction, Echology.
- Game - Black Raven, Elite, UFO2, KOLOBOK ZOOM2, in general
this list is very long :-)
- Uewspaper - this is the most difficult thing, because there were a lot of them
and I can’t highlight anything. However, TARGET once it's up
probably still existsrules ;-)
- Magazine - ZX Format.
1b. Name the best Graphic and Music Editor, Best
Assembly language or other software, the authors will be pleased!
- Graphic editor - Bureal Gfx Editor
- Music editor - there were many of them, but I remember
Pro tracker
- Assembler - ZASM 3.1O, a very powerful environment for developers.
- File manager - Real Commander
- Viewer of everything - Best View.
17. Well, if we have already talked about this, Remember those Great
who deserves to be mentioned - Favorite Musician, Coder, Artist,
Just a manwho did a lot of good for the stage!
- Well, I can write here for a very long time: Musician - Fatal Snipe :-)
In general, all the guys from Fenomen are great! ZEG probably still does
writes something on Specky :) I can’t help but mention the genius
programmer - Vyacheslav Mednonogov, what he did was
really impossibly cool. Dimstudio which without which
I wouldn’t have such a screwed-up Spectrum, and indeed in
Polotsk would have died without him. DEADMAU from Borisov, Uikola
from Polotsk (who wrote scrolling even on paper when
Speckie was under repair) :-) Many people contributed to the development
this wonderful platform.
18. Do you consider yourself a Stager and how do you feel about it?
"understanding" what it is in your opinion - Scene and Scener?
- Probably not anymore :( In 1999-2OOZ I probably thought
stager, but now I don’t have the right to do so. About the very concept of a scene
somehowI don’t want to talk, there’s too much to write.
19. Can you assess the state of the Stage today???
- Confessions, I’m surprised that it even exists, Spectrum
really alive chever!
2О. Have you personally attended any Parties? As a viewer either
participant? What did you like? What's not?
- Yes, I was a spectator at the Millennium Demoparty, there is something
remember, it was great :-) Especially unforgettable night
spent in the forest in the company of two spektrumists who were not
moved into apartments :-)
21. Is it possible on the Spectrummake money and how?
- No, I think that no one needs it, the Spectrum is a hobby for
which rather money should be spent holding all kinds of parties
or support the platform in some other way.
22. Does Spectrum have a Future and how do you see it???
- Probably still exists, but not for long, there are fewer and fewer new people,
convince the modern teenager that this rulez is no longer
succeed. But Speccy went down in history and left a mark on the soul
all of us. Thanks to Clive Sinclair for our happy
childhood!!! :-)
And a couple more “life” questions:
Have you served in the Army? Where and when?
- No. having gone through the night visits of the cops, the fine and the prosecutor's office, I
I didn’t get there :-) That’s a different story, with beer
I'll tell you sometime.
Do you have your own family (wife, children)
- Just a couple of days ago I broke up with my girlfriend, but it’s not sad
it had to be done. So far alone, but the girl is not a needle,
somehow it will be found in a haystack :-)
Will you tell them on quiet winter evenings about
Spectrum?? :)))) Or already??
- If I have them, I will definitely tell you.
Do you have MS, what kind? (or maybe Amiga, MAC?) You create
whether you do something creative on it or just play
games (which ones)
- I have three PCs at home, one is on the mezzanine (P-II) and plays
the role of a router and FTU node (I hope to become a node soon),
second regular Athlon XP 17OO on KT133A, 512Mb/1bОGb/Radeon
9OOO, and also my laptop, which I adore: IBM ThinkPad T2O,
R-III 7OOMHz/2SbMb/2OGb, all ports. Everything works under ALT Linux
(Athlone also has Windows) I haven’t had time for games lately,
I mostly write in PHP+MySQL.
Favorite genre of computer games.- Strategies, both turn-based and realtime.
Favorite musical direction
- I love Pink Floyd :-) Well, also blues, Russian and non-Russian rock.
What model of cell phone do you have? what brand do you think
leader?
- Uokia 551O (with keyboard like a computer) and Uokia831O,
In general, Nokia and SonyEricson rule, Siemens probably too,
I don't respect the others.
Hobbies besides computers???
- Drink beer ;-) Play billiards.
Do you have an idiot's dream?
- Port bash to Speccy ;-)
- Throw a cake at Bill Gates.
-Strangle the creator Dendy
- Dedicated line from the brewery to home :)
Happiest moment in your life?
- I think it hasn't existed yet :)
Have you ever read our newspaper? Wishes and
are there any suggestions?
- Yes, I read it, but a very long time ago :) probably in 99, but not all the numbers,
Maybe I'll get around to re-reading it. Of course there are wishes, I really
I'm glad that someone else is writing for the spec, so I wish
Creative Uzbeks to you ;-) then Sinus: the shell is cool, I
liked it :)
