Historical information.
The first DiHalt was held in 1999. The orientation was only
to the ZX platform. DiHalt 1999 can be called a failure in terms of
organization (no third party funding, no
demo-party schedules, structures, etc.), and at the same time one
one of the most intense in terms of the number of works. Get burned once
it was decided not to do any more demo-parties. Despite this, in 2OOS he was revived with a new team
organizers, positioning themselves as a replacement for CAFe-demopati, which
could not take place due to some reasons. Remembering the failure of 1999
years, many doubted that something more or less would work out
good. The new team, led by Vinnny, showed what
dedicated fans of the demoscene are capable. Among the main differences:
sponsors appeared, the list of supported platforms expanded
(Amiga, PC, ZX), a normal large comfortable room appeared,
overnight accommodation for stagers, fun competitions, security, advertising in
the Internet, and the like. All this contributed to
convince visiting stagers that DiHalt can be great
organized event made by demosceners for
demosceners, without pathos, pomposity and finger-bending. :-)
See you at DiHalt 2OOb!
