THE PROPHECIES OF NOSTRADAMUS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE RENAISSANCE

Creation of the world - in 4054 BC. In this case the seventh
the millennium begins in 1946, and the Last Judgment occurs in
2946

Message, first chronology:

From the creation of the world to the flood of 1242
From the flood to the birth of Abraham 1080
From the birth of Abraham to the birth of Moses 515-516.
From the birth of Moses to the birth of David 570
From the birth of David to Christmas 1350
From Christmas to Islam 621

Creation of the world - ca. 4758 BC Seventh millennium
starts approx. 1242, Last Judgment - ca. 2242
Epistle, second chronology (Nostradamus emphasizes that
we are talking about his own calculations):

From the creation of the world to the birth of Noah 1506
From the birth of Noah to the flood 600
Duration of the flood 1 year 2 months.
From the flood to the birth of Abraham 295
From the birth of Abraham to the birth of Isaac 100
From the birth of Isaac to the birth of Jacob 60
From Jacob's arrival in Egypt to his departure from Egypt 130
From the arrival of Jacob in Egypt to the exodus of the Jews from Egypt in 430.
From the Exodus to the construction of Solomon's Temple in 480.
From the construction of Solomon's Temple to Christmas 490

By adding additional time periods, Nostradamus
gives his version of the date of creation of the world - 4173 BC.
The seventh millennium begins ca. 1826
All these chronologies look extremely confusing. Nostradamus
states that Jewish chronology uses the solar
year, while every Jew knows that the Jewish year is always
lunar. 1242 as the year of the beginning of the seventh millennium disappears itself
on its own, since - let us remind you - the millennium begins with it
the kingdom of God, and the defeat of the Antichrist is only the first event of this
era. For the same reason, 2 other chronologies disappear - after all,
Nostradamus has a prophecy about 1999 as the year of battles and
disasters.
Nostradamus believed that planetary periods did not consist of 354
years, and out of 353. The length of the Jewish lunar year is
from 353 days to 360, and Nostradamus took the minimum value. B
This hypothesis is supported by the fact that the first (1555) edition
The prophecies contain 353 quatrains - a symbolic allusion to
the duration of the planetary year according to Nostradamus. Regarding
chronology, then Nostradamus took as a basis the canonical Jewish
the date of creation of the world is 3761 BC. Attached to this
chronology theory of 353-year periods, we get the following
table:

Saturn Jupiter Venus Mercury Mars Moon Sun3761 to
AD 3408 BC 3055 BC 2702 BC 2349 BC 1996 BC
AD 1643 BC 1290 BC 937 BC 584 BC 231 BC 122
AD 475 AD 828 AD 1181 AD 1534 AD 1887 AD 2240

Chronologies in the Almanac and in the Message are given for
confusing readers. For the same purpose, Nostradamus argued that
his prophecies extend to the period up to 3797. If we
Let's add up the year of publication of the first edition of the Prophecies and the year of the beginning
seventh millennium according to the above chronology - 2241 - then
we get 3796. Considering that Nostradamus constantly
a difference of 2 years emerges, then our hypothesis looks sufficient
logical.
The third source of Nostradamus' prophetic inspiration is
theory of large compounds. It is based on the fact that
global events in world history are necessarily caused
certain angular configurations of the largest planets
Solar system - Jupiter and Saturn. It's quite complicated
the doctrine according to which the so-called A large cycle of connecting these
planets - 960 years - is divided into small cycles. European
astrologers were familiar with this theory from the works of Abu Mashar,
Arab astrologer who lived in the early Middle Ages.
In Nostradamus, the key moments are clearly visible
history of the future up to the 19th century. In this case, specificdates that are so close to those of earlier authors,
based on the concept of Abu Mashar that they cannot but be brought.

1700-1703

Richard Roussat: Then - a most significant rapprochement and connection
Saturn and Jupiter, which will occur near the head of Aries, in the year
our Lord 1702, will bring widespread... changes.

Nostradamus:

I-51 Head of Aries, Jupiter and Saturn.
God Almighty, what changes!
Then after a long time his evil time will return.
Gaul and Italy, what excitement!

I-49 Much, much earlier - such machinations
People of the East thanks to lunar valor.
In 1700 many will be driven away,
Almost conquering the Aquilon region.

VI-2... In the year 703 the heavens testify,
That many kingdoms will change five to one.

1789-1793

Cardinal Taii, 1414: With these [astrological calculations]
it may be strongly inferred that about this time [1789]
The Antichrist will come with his damned law or sect.

Richard Roussa: ...let's talk about a great and wonderful union,
which, gentlemen astrologers say, will happen around 1789
year of our Lord, after 10 revolutions of Saturn. And in about
25 years from now the fourth and final standing of the highest
Firmament. Allthese imagined and calculated events
lead the mentioned astrologers to the conclusion that if there is light
exist by this time (that only God knows),
great, wonderful and terrible changes will take place throughout the world,
even in sects and laws. ...Now I claim that we...
We are approaching the coming renewal of the world... in about 243
year... from this treatise, whose date is indicated at the end thereof.
...The fifteenth day of the month of February, the year of Grace 1548. Russa
considered this period (1789-1791) the probable time of the accession
Antichrist.

Nostradamus:

I-54 Ten turns made by the evil deceiver,
Changes in kingdoms and [over] centuries.
The moving sign is so intrusive
To two equal and equally thinking.

Let's return to the quote already given:
...Starting this year, the greatest persecution will take place against
Christian Church, [equal] to which there was no one in Africa, and
it will continue until 1792, which will be believed
[year] of the renewal of the century.

The block of instructions for 1580-1585 stands out:

VI-2 In the year [1]580 - plus or minus -
A very strange century awaits...

I wanted to leave records where the years, cities, villages and
the regions in which it will happenmost [future events],
including even the year 1585 and the year 1606.
Nostradamus attached great importance to this period. However
neither in Russ nor in other predecessors of Nostradamus we
we will find nothing close to these dates. The answer can be found in others
works of Nostradamus:

From the prediction for 1558:
Countless events are brewing not only this year, but almost
until the year 1585, in which I foresee the greatest confusion, equal
which never happened. New turmoil, unrest and
conspiracies. And numerous and various murders will be committed,
bloodshed, plague and war.

From the prediction for 1565:
Jupiter square Mars and Sun square Saturn which will occur
March 20, 1567, under the bad configuration of Saturn to Mars and
closer in the year 1585 and a hundred times worse in 1588... In the year 1584
the most holy Romanesque Catholic Church awaits one of
largest tests of strength, the likes of which have never been seen before
during the siege of St. Peter.

It is obvious that here Nostradamus relied on the doctrine of
great connections.

The fourth postulate used by Nostradamus in his
prophecies for eternity - this is the theory about the last emperor
peace.

    L. Smoller reports thatfor the first time in the European tradition
the legend of the future last world ruler appears in
treatise of the 7th century Revelations, signed with the name of Methodius.
Mixing apocalyptic elements with political ones, unknown
the author introduced into circulation the figure of the last emperor of the world,
who will rule the Christians in a period of peace,
preceding the coming of the Antichrist. At the same time, the Arabs will perform in
as the guard of the Antichrist, and the last emperor will fight
with them until he is defeated in the face of superior forces
enemy. It should be noted that the surge in popularity of the hypothesis
Methodius falls on the era of the Crusades, when she gained
unexpectedly relevant sound.
