Nostradamus - prophecies of Nostradamus in the context of the Renaissance (part 3).

        THE PROPHECIES OF NOSTRADAMUS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE RENAISSANCE 
  
 
    P. Brandamour, who advanced the research the furthest
creativity of Nostradamus, ignores this topic. In our opinion,
this is a major mistake, since the activities of the last chapter
Christian empire runs like a red thread throughout the book
Nostradamus.   A Provençal soothsayer developed a theory about
The last Emperor.  Great Monarch, founder of the latter
Christian dynasty of a united Europe, appears in his
quatrains repeatedly, under the name Chyren, Chyren-Selin or
Selin.  Here are just a few quatrains in which Chyren appears
and his heir Ogmiy:

 
IV-34 A great captive is brought from a foreign land, 
Presented to King Chyren`y in golden chains, 
Lost the war in Avzone, in Milan, 
And his entire army was devoted to fire and iron. 
 
VI-27a On the islands [where] five rivers [merge] into one, 
Under the crescent of the great Chyren Selin, 
Under the drizzling rain, the hatred of one loomed. 
Six will escape by hiding in a load of flax. 
 
VI-70aa The head of the world will be the great Chyren. 
After Urlvs vltraF we love him, he is feared and feared. 
His glory and praise will reach the heavens, 
[And] he is quite satisfied with the title of winner. 
 
VIII-54 Under the color of the marriage contract - 
Generousthe work of the great Chyren Selin, 
Quentin and Arras were returned on the march. 
He will make a cutlet out of the Spaniards. 
 
VI-42 The kingdom was left to Ogmia 
The great SelinTa, and he will accomplish even more. 
It will fly its banner over all of Italy, 
Ruled by a wary impostor. 
 
V-80 Ogmiy will approach the great Byzantium, 
The Barbarian League will be expelled. 
Of the two laws the pagan one will fall,

X-86a Like a griffin, the king of Europe will come, 
Accompanied by the Aquilonians. 
Will lead a large army of red and white 
And will oppose the king of Babylon. 

 
    E. Leoni and E. Berzin believe that Chyren is an anagram of the name
Henryc, and that Nostradamus had in mind his contemporary,
French King Henry II and named him Emperor of Europe.
However, this would mean that the final Antichrist must come
already in the 16th century, which absolutely does not fit with the concept
Nostradamus.

 
    Probably the above quatrains about the displaced empire
also refer to the last Christian state, troops
which will be forced to retreat to the west of Europe, to the Ardennes
under the onslaught of the black nation - the Arabs and their Spanish allies.

 
     In addition to solid concepts, Nostradamus drew from his works
predecessors and individual elements, introducing them into their quatrains:

    
I-17 For 40 years Iris will not appear, 
It will be visible every day for 40 years. 
The barren land will dry up even more. 
And great floods, when it will be noticed again. 

 
    Richard Roussat: ...Iris (or the Arc of Heaven, or the Arc of the World) completely
will not be visible for 40 years before this burning due to
great land of heavenly bodies...

    However, in Nostradamus we find a number of completely inexplicable
fragments whose sources we cannot trace. Yes,
for example, in his letter to Henry II it is said that the Antichrist
there will be three! This statement has no analogues in eschatological
theories that existed at that time.

 
    In addition, Nostradamus left a number of quatrains, content
which cannot be deduced from the texts of Russ, Avenezra, Aya or
Abu Mashara. For example:

 
III-77 The third climate, the one under the sign of Aries, 
Year 1727, in October, 
The King of Persia is seduced by the people of Egypt. 
War, death, loss, great shame on the cross. 

 
    Nostradamus is so confident in the accuracy of the prediction that -
a rare case! - names not only the year, but also the month of the event.
However, the year 1727 in general and October in particular is not noted
any significant planetary phenomena on which
could rely on this prediction.P. Brandamour: I can't
understand the choice of October 1727;  astrological layout is not
shows nothing special for this month.

 
X-72 Year 1999, seventh month. 
From the sky will come the great king of terror, 
To resurrect the great king of Angolmois 
Rule happily both before and after Mars. 



    There are two unclear points in this quatrain.  As already
it was noted that Nostradamus was not a big believer in accuracy
mathematical calculations. His Almanacs testify to this.
He either did not want or did not know how to calculate planetary phenomena
even a year in advance.  The date of the event is also indicated here.
separated from the time of Nostradamus by more than 400 years. Where from
such precision?



    According to calculations, August 11 (in July old style)
1999 there will be a Great Eclipse, one of those
which, according to astrologers, have a decisive influence on
fate of the world. It can be assumed that Nostradamus here indicates
either the last emperor of the world, or the founding of a dynasty,
from which he will later emerge. Why did he fill this quatrain
exactly this content? If you know exactly where he got it from
material for the interpretation of celestial phenomena 1600-1607 and
1789-1793, then there is a question about the source of his inspiration
remains open. P. Brandamour: Icouldn't find astronomical
source used by Nostradamus.



    This is not surprising: accurate tables of eclipses for 450 years in advance
in the 16th century there wasn't.
