THE PROPHECIES OF NOSTRADAMUS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE RENAISSANCE

states the chronological framework of his work: These are prophecies

The second theory that Nostradamus relied on is
the statement that the world is allocated 7 thousand to exist

The belief that the year 6000 from the creation of the world will fail

In our opinion, it is impossible to deny the direct connection between
The Revelation of John and the Book of Enoch at least in
eschatological part. Particularly striking is the similarity in
description of the last three weeks, already covering the Christian,
that is, our era.
As we noted above,the main task of European
eschatologists were to establish the exact date of the creation of the world
(more precisely, the time elapsed from the creation of the world to Christmas
Christ's). A huge amount has been devoted to this issue
research. You can mention Bishop Theophilus, the Alexandrians
Panodora and Anniana at the dawn of the 1st millennium AD. Council of Trent
(1545), which adopted the Latin translation of the Bible as
canonical, however, left the question open -
at least two versions of the dating of the creation of the world were preserved

Be that as it may, interest in biblical chronology is a phenomenon
purely medieval. L. Smoller even calls the Middle Ages

resolved issue.
During the Renaissance, he also occupied not only church
hierarchs. The French scientist Joseph Scaliger proposed in 1583
its system of keeping track of time from the creation of the world, which
he pegged it at January 1, 4713 BC. (This system is used
