Scream #11

dihalt 2011 ay music review

by nq/skrju, siril/4d and all

nq> As usual, a few words before starting this thematic madness. Over the course of a month, we interrogated many people, first of all, we they harassed them personally, breaking into their cozy spaces, harassing them on VKontakte and Facebook, as a rule, people did not answer immediately, so the actions were repeated again and again. Of course, we didn’t get such a lead as at a real demo party, but still Most of the review should be taken with humor and cheerful hoots. Yes, this review of music from DiHalt 2011 turned out to be multi-polar, people’s opinions are often not coincided, but that made it more honest. The authors of the works will not be bored :)

Speaking “we”, about those who had a hand in the review - siril/4D prepared the material, convincing people to give detailed reviews of all works with the party, as opposed to him, I tried to take at least 2-3 sentences from each person, offering listen to just one track. During this process, some respondents showed commendable initiatives. I would like to thank everyone again, with patience and understanding towards our attacks:>

And a few words from our inspiring father.

Unbeliever:

The overwhelming task of reviewing music is new to me. It is unlikely that the musicians will be able to see in my text, something adequate for my creativity.It's more of a perception a simple man in the street, one who suddenly and irreconcilably encountered their work on the lake near Nizhny Novgorod or in a warm apartment in a panel house outside the Moscow Ring Road.

In life I am a simple person, I like scrambled eggs and tea with sugar in the morning... If seriously, in the entire history of visiting the party I remember only one track, on stage of the show which later won (Together With Me by EA at CC'99). I hope this frankness will give you food for thought and adequate perception of my review of work from DiHalt'2011.

1_splinter and mmcm - stellar one

Merlin/ULG:

This track is really good, I gave it and another one an excellent rating. good tempo, combination of melody and rhythm. even a little bit of nostalgia added to the track in the form of a sound sequence, very reminiscent of that in the demo track Forever. I don’t know which of the authors wrote what, but it turned out very well, even despite because they live in different cities.

+++++++

Firestarter/Hackerz' Design Software:

this 2AY is slightly similar to mmcm. Overall the composition is good. since there are two chips, no intermittent sounds.

nq> do you like this track?

not first place) place 2-3.

nq> what would you do differently in it? nq> Where do you think he falls short?

I don't like the mmcm style itself. well, that is, not onfirst place. more siril, ironman, you, c-jeff, d-juice. I don't particularly like EA's either. In general, you can make the main theme a little quieter. The bass is somehow lost, even though I have a subwoofer.

nq> melodic trance is not your thing? :)

"assured" mmcm - here the bass and echo are good, 2000 and the sound is more melodic.

nq> thanks for the answers

+++++++

Andy Fer:

technically excellent track, light and memorable. Mmmsm always was and is A technically competent musician, his sound is always recognizable. his writing style and the tools are practically a “brand”. And coupled with the idea, the Splinter theme - the track becomes easy to listen to on the one hand, and on the other becomes even more musical and memorable. it seems to me that it is joint creativity succeeded. Personally, the track took me back to the late 90s... :)

+++++++

Arty Noonzen/DR:

mmcm? =)

nq> + splinter :)

Well done. these can light up =)

+++++++

Siril/4D:

3rd place in the hit parade. And again TS. High quality and interesting weave corporate styles of Splinter and MMCM, it’s great that they had enough space in 6 channels. Melodic and varied vip-trance, with classical elements Spectrum techno (envelope + tone + slide). The melody develops, a lot wonderful jewelry and trinkets.

+++++++

MelodyHacker:

1st place in AY, it seems to me, is well deserved.Minimum of these nasty chiptune ones arpeggio chords, to the extent of modulation, were pleased with the rather forgotten pitch slides, delay imitation is used wisely, and overall it’s simple: 1) nice, 2) AYshno.

+++++++

AAA:

Good music reminiscent of a splinter track. Wonderful track, singsong, beautiful and magnificent. It feels like MMSM helped him write it. It's incredibly cool when two such monsters of music collaborate. It can be said that This is the first time this has happened, and it's cool, well done. You'll have to tear up the letter.

+++++++

Unbeliever:

Innovations in the methodology for winning all three prizes shown by MmcM this year are worthy of the best SEO traditions. We score TOP and leave no chance competitors. It is worth noting that the joint track CJ Splinter really bright, varied and unpredictable on turns. Perhaps it is precisely this kind of joint creativity of two musicians who are different in nature that will generate new masterpieces for us.

+++++++

Garm:

Behind the uninteresting beginning lies a nice track with a wonderful melodic line. The impression is spoiled a little by the boring, monotonous drums - in my opinion, over they could have been worked on more carefully. However, the beauty of the melody makes you close Look at this and reap it ripit (7/10).

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) I’ll start with the fact that at the moment, given the detachment from Spec’s affairs, I heard quite a lotNot enough good music for turbo sound. I remember back in 2007 dihalte, when they started giving a fee for turbo sound as a prize, I talked with karbofos on this topic. To be honest, I still don’t understand the pull of Spekov’s muzakers for this lotion. someone says that this allows you to "unfold" in in terms of creativity. someone says that any new speck iron is ok... on the first point I can say the obvious thing: if you want to turn around - What don't you like about PC? create. according to the second: a spec is a spec. Pentagon with AU should to be a Pentagon, not a coffee maker with Wi-Fi... but let's return to this track. yes, two envelopes are great, especially for me personally, yes and our great musicians have always loved to actively use it. but guys, you have to know how to use it :)) boring bass from the very beginning of the track, fake whistle with an ornament on one of the channels in the middle as I see it they no longer justify the need to use turbo sound. could have been done more interesting. probably :)) if not, such a turbo sound is in the firebox :)) 2) in terms of building the harmonic basis of the track, one could also hope for some variety. there are a lot of ways, moves... modulation, bridges, rhythm changes... introduce syncopation for a few bars. me, of course The main attraction is the rhythmic basis. at least they were more diverse changes of four patterns were made, more emphasized with the help of bass anddrums to example (except for the fills present here)... perhaps the only thing is that the duet here I decided to do it - use the capabilities of turbo sound in terms of creating polyphony. but personally I was disappointed in this regard, for the first place of this not enough. again this hackneyed “square” in four chords, and let’s go... we can Of course, blame it all on the fact that this is not a demo soundtrack, where usually everything fits the plot tied up, but still. boring again... 3) in general there are no complaints about the quality of samples, except again for use envelope, saw, as there was also the term “croaking sounds” :))) good croaking Envelopes have been written all their lives in 8K, not in E :))) 4) the solo howls make me cringe a little :)) I don’t know which of the two I am responsible for this :)) again, it is obvious that within the framework of the compo there is not much in this regard you're making it up, so actually, in my opinion, you need to pay more attention interesting turns and moves (see paragraph 2). well fuck the melodies :)))) 5) I always liked the track to “start me up” so that I could jam to it, jump to the extreme... here the atmosphere is such that you feel a certain "refinement" and "stylishness". the guys focused on the components, aimed maybe in first place in advance, which deprived the track of some recklessness, excitement and drive. I don’t even want to shake my head. everything is natural IMHO.

2_mmcm - end time

Alone Coder:

it's a square.

nq> agree, how surprising it would be if it were some other figure?)

no chorus. This is far from the author's best track. I just listened to it and the theme for the chorus came to mind.

+++++++

CjEcho/Zumph:

Well, what can I say: - Sergei’s sound is felt from the very first notes, but, no offense, in my opinion, the track is crude, because... it lacks something inherent to this musician development. While I was listening to the track I was constantly waiting for the solo part to start, but for some reason and didn't wait. Probably MMCM made the track this way for a reason, perhaps this was the first three-channel, and the solo part should be somewhere in the second part - which for some reason was not shown to me.

+++++++

Siril/4D:

A solid, canonical track from MMCM, with a fat bass on the envelope. Didn't log in top three in the personal hit parade solely due to the fact that TS provides greater capabilities that were masterfully used by Splinter and MMCM in another track.

+++++++

MelodyHacker:

I missed End Time and Finder - they are both smooth, good, but not outstanding in any way. 5 for composition and performance, 3 for originality, total 4. “Quality pop music."

+++++++

AAA:

The best track, superbly composed, superbly written. first place miracle. I want to transfer it to MPZ and put it on the phone, in place of another track from MMSM. It is necessary admit that mmsm has the longest pussy in the worldmusic and it's almost the same same length as RST7!

+++++++

TDM/KЗL:

thanks for the link, song is from technical point of view perfect. Since I know songs from him, I have to say, he is repeating himself, which is not good. However, the song as compact piece is a pleasure to listen.

+++++++

Unbeliever:

Second place, especially if we listen to it immediately after the first, takes us back to the world of “classic” MmcM, which is long overdue for digitization and automate. Everything works out well for him, but the further he gets beyond 300+ compositions on AY, the more recognizable and monotonous it becomes. It's time, it's time switch to beeper!

+++++++

Garm:

A bit boring. Monotonous, monotonous track with an uninteresting melody and the same uninteresting drums. I won't say that the track is bad, just... boring (5/10).

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) paaaam, pam pam pam paaaam, pararaaaaam... mmsm, as they say, in my repertoire :)) a kind of pop from pops on the performance stage. considering that this is still second place, you think that apparently people love mmsm, it’s not for nothing that he always writes "Hi fanz" :))) another point that comes to mind: who, if not Will he still participate in the compo? of course, it would be desirable for the organizers to see my party and work and names, but to be honest, I would have stopped selecting a long time ago mmsm chewing gum, thereby forcing you to experiment. but doesn't want to experiments- young people are always dear to us :)) sorry, Seryoga :)) just poetry... so, again, why, in general, did I sooooo rarely participate in music compo - Time restrictions force all cards to be laid out on the table at once. But. mmsm He's been playing the same games for a long time, is anyone still interested in this? I don't very. it feels like he has a coffee machine at home - he fell asleep a simple melody of a few notes, and the accompaniment came automatically. this one the same noise from top to bottom, the same envelope along with noise in the first positions in sample, which mercilessly cuts it, these same ornaments... Sorry, there is only one point here (((:

3_mmcm - finder

Merlin/ULG:

can I take another track? :-D I remember him in online voting, not very well I left a high rating :) The track is quite calm, quite in the spirit of the composer. this is probably it for me the pros end there. of the minuses - there is no zest, because of which others You listen to mmcm tracks many times. [:-}

nq> why don't you like him?

the main disadvantage I wrote is that the track is too mediocre both in general and for this a great composer like Sergei :) standard chords in his style.

nq> but don't these chords grab you? nq> he wrote the track, received certain emotions from it, are they not transmitted to you?

not on this track. it's like in the picture- there is a background, but no main image, then there is that very zest that, against the backdrop of these chords, could admire. Perhaps when he wrote this track, he didn’t have strong emotions, it’s just a calm state :) which, in general, is conveyed by the track :)

nq> thanks for the answer :)

please. I will send the invoice by mail as usual *JOKINGLY*

+++++++

Megus/Brainwave:

classic mmcm :) is recognized almost instantly.

nq> this is his trick, he remains himself :)

but there is already a lot of such music on AY, it’s already getting boring to listen to it. although, of course, everything is melodic, harmonious, beautiful. but it doesn't catch on. true to style, of course. not everyone has their own style, mmcm its has. but it seems to me that he has already milked it all :)

nq> he likes making this kind of music, he enjoys the process :)

well that's cool :)

nq> yes, he’s just sometimes offended by such statements, he says, what’s the point then? all this, if not for the soul) nq> thanks for the answers.

please :)

+++++++

Siril/4D:

I can only repeat what I said above about End Time, adding that Finder somewhat more lyrical and, perhaps, I liked it more. Dear Spectrum mmcm-dream-trance.

+++++++

AAA:

What I didn’t like here is that it’s somehow monotonous, and it’s immediately clear that this is MMCM, but you can'tmake three masterpieces. You can only have two!!

+++++++

naoru:

mmtsm is faithful to traditions, his tracks have not changed over the years. I don't even know what to say here.

nq> Can you somehow single out this composition from the total mass of his tracks?

no, that's the point! he simply does not want to write anything else and deletes it as substandard and unformatted.

nq> do you like her? :) nq> or so - did you discover anything new for yourself after listening to this track?

no! =_= I guess first place, right?

nq> third.

oh, this is a breakthrough.

nq> although, he took all 3 first places in music :)

it's even thicker than darkman.

nq> Any wishes arising from all this? :)

wishes? finally stop writing pop music, forget it like a bad dream and start experiment.

nq> thanks for your opinion)

+++++++

Unbeliever:

Third place, too short and even more classic. This is great music for magazine or a leisurely intro, but it was hardly worth exhibiting such work at a party (if there are others that are more suitable). Sergey! Make way for youth! Submit no more than 1.34 tracks in each category :-)

+++++++

Garm:

Very nice composition. Calm tempo, beautiful melody, interesting drums line. What else is needed for happiness? Is there more happiness - tracklasts less two minutes, and that's very little. But you can always press play again (8/10).

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) no introduction. For some reason, from the very first chords it becomes clear to me that the whole melody, especially one lasting less than 2 minutes, will be monotonous. 2) the second thing that immediately catches your eye (ears :)) is the inexpressive rhythm section. the bass is farting something, the snare is finally combined with the ornament. in In general, it is clear that for mmsm this technique is a standard approach. and why It’s better to experiment, because it’s easier to take a turbo :)) 3) arpeggio on one of the channels - a favorite means of filling a track Specov musicians :)) additional ornaments expand the frequency spectrum, but as if the sequence of three chords itself, and such a hackneyed one, suggests to the idea that mmsm writes such tracks in batches :)) (see review of the second place) 4) I myself am not a melodist at all (this is to ensure that there are no exclamations like “first write it yourself. And then criticize” :)), but nevertheless it is clearly visible that development of some melody, more or less catchy, on a meager three chords It was basically difficult for mmsm to come up with. so be at least something :)) 5) the atmosphere created by the track reminded me personally of those megademos where you sit and you read a half-hour scroll in one of the parts, music plays in the background and something else twitches on the screen :)) in general, not a compo track at all :)

+++++++

Sauron/DR:

The track is in the best traditions of that scene, as I remembered it when I stopped participation in the life of the glorious ZX Spectrum computer! Causes a heavy feeling nostalgia and joy that there is still life THERE. Thank you very much! :)

4_jerrs - bit dance

Bugsy/Hackerz' Design Software:

you know what.

nq> dada.

here's the thing:

interesting start. I would even say promising. the bass entered beautifully. and then the emptiness began. simple chants and random harmonic poking keyboard. I don't hear any melody. no beginning, no resolution, no refrain. the abrupt ending gives the track even more unfinished look.

It's the same with Klim. That's why I say it's difficult for me. judge. in theory I should have said: FUCK! SO COOL!! IT'S THE SAME YOUNG GUY FROM EKATERINBURG, TO WHICH I SOLEMNLY PRESENTED A COPY OF MY SPECKY COLLECTION AT DISC FIVE YEARS AGO!!! WHAT A GOOD GUY HE HAS BEEN!!! but for some reason I didn’t say that. but gave an objective (yes, subjective, of course) assessment of his track.

nq> so what, you doubted? What are your insecurities? nq> Do you think you’re the only one here who has become such an adult and has a bunch of interests of your own? nq> thanks for the answer :)

Yes, this is not a matter of adulthood. I've seen the same thing before. That's why I love covers. and I only like a few tracks. Maybeeven because of the arrangement. Do you remember Love singing with a guitar at CC2010? what was he singing? he sang compositions that have a melody and can be sung. and what's going on here? WHAT THE FUCK IS HERE!? MUSICAL EMPTINITY. Do you know there is such a thing as “graphomania”? So this is the same only in music. I understand that 10 jobs are better than none, but damn it’s all so sad.

+++++++

Himik's ZxZ/Power of Sound:

oh fuck! is this 3 channels or what?

nq> yes, it looks like 3 channels :)

fuck!!!

nq> good start :)

I'm shocked. really.

nq> have you heard of this musician before?

no, I haven't heard. but I think this is the strongest old school track I've seen lately heard.

nq> you see what kind of people appear :) however, he has been active since 2007, maybe earlier. but I didn’t really follow him either. Now many people like him.

and old school - purely in terms of melody and samples. and the technology is top notch.

nq> technical, yes :) especially, speaking about old school, one cannot help but notice what kind of uses sounds. nq> anything else you want to add to this?

but I can’t help but want to say that the other day the three of us, Me, KIM and SCAR, got together (PoS-WT) and decided to shake up the old days, stir up 4k. and after such fresh music news, I received an invaluable boost positive emotions, I wanted to work for the benefit of the stage. great track. great motive.great technique.

nq> glad you feel this way, keep this up as long as possible :) nq> and be sure to do 4k) nq> because cc in a month :)

I really want to get contact with the author of the track and ask him to work with us in our work. maybe he will really be that push, so to speak a “magic kick” that will make the brain remember everything.

nq> I have no connection with him, but he seems to be on zx.pk.ru. nq> look at the topic on dihalt 2011, it seems he wrote there.

I'll definitely take a look.

nq> thanks for the answer :)

This is a small thing, I just can’t write more in the workflow. I can do a little work on this issue from home in the evening. but in general - yes, Mouzon rules. I reached some depths of my soul, I began remembering the past from the scene, demo-making and introcoding. HOORAY!

nq> :)

+++++++

Klim/OHG:

Great positive upbeat track!!! You can feel the work done on stereo effects and original FX... in a word, worthy work, took worthy place!!!

+++++++

siril/4D:

1st place in the personal hit parade. The best experience of AY-Music Compo in a few recent years. TurboSound makes it possible to create a beautiful continuous echo, soft harmony and 2 envelopes. Jerrs took advantage of all theseopportunities, having built an incredibly beautiful and light canvas. Everything I like =) Separate thank you for the wonderful envelopes.

+++++++

MelodyHacker:

I give a thumbs up for being unpretentious and positive. Simple and tasteful.

+++++++

AAA:

Cool little music, I like them, varied, and when it diverges, then It's more cool. Well done Jers, he did his job well, but no luck because We have MMSM, which, damn it, doesn’t get boring!!! Although from the second minute you wrote MASTERPIECE!!! Well done!!!

+++++++

Unbeliever:

Great job, with an easy to follow plot. With a different filling compo it could well qualify for first place, as it catches the listener’s ear right the first time. I don’t understand the technical side, that’s why I won’t be here further concentrate on it.

+++++++

Garm:

Very good work with sounds and rhythm. I'm pleased with the depth of the composition - a lot various small details that you pay attention to when repeating listening. I can’t say that I liked the melody very much, but here it is secondary. Overall - great! (9/10)

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) from the very beginning, Mouzon leaves a pleasant impression: you can feel a fan-like attitude, a cool melody, which is immediately a plus for the author. the person is not I was mistaken in choosing positivity as the main message in this track, because it’s party, where there are a lot of people, sun, water, vodka :))) evenremember yours adventures there, a lying alpha and other delights of a demo party :))) 2) it sounds a little uncomfortable when the bass and drums are scattered over the ears. especially This is a turbo sound, where in theory you can make a denser sound, but it looks like the author was not very interested in this. so the bass is again boring and even Moreover, it is monotonous. what is it finally, where are the cuts on the envelopes in our time? :))) we hear the reverb implemented using the TS, we hear the chips with the envelope, which makes me at least it made me happy after the previous 3 tracks, experiments with stereo effects... 3) I never understood why it is permissible to hang a solo on B when arranging ABC sample with a melody, at volume F, because first of all it should be very good the written part, and secondly, against the background of it, the rest of it sounds somehow defective. suggests that by doing this the author distracts the listener from the rather weak sampled drums and bass lines. in general, it seems the author is not enough deftly knows how to manipulate samples, combining them and adding several batches into the channel. That's why TS was chosen. 4) a completely unexpected ending. What can I say - compo.

5_klim - cool gfx

Copperfeet:

nice melody - calm beginning, smooth continuation and impressive ending. Quite accurately conveys the spirit of OLDSCHOOL - the spirit of youth and positivity.

+++++++

t/skrju:

Tracknot bad, dynamic and melodic, with its own mood, which, for me, very important in music...

That's all... :)

+++++++

Siril/4D:

OldSchool with pure-envelope without any newfangled tone+envelope sounds a little archaic, but authentic =) Real, genuine Klim =)

+++++++

MelodyHacker:

minus for Italo-disco and in general for all these arpeggiators along with excessive vibrato. This is no longer fashionable, and for a very long time.

+++++++

Raver/Phantasy:

A fairly traditional chiptune in terms of both production and style -- luckily for a lost scener like me that certainly isn't a put-off as it's been a while since I last heard any YM/AY, so the painfully familiar sound makes for a weeny nostalgic rush. Having said that, don't expect much of a story or any emotional depth within the tune itself, to be frank there's nothing memorable about it. Neverheless it's a credible scene zak bursting with cracktro-esque energy and would definitely come handy to supplement a dynamic visual motif -- unfortunately it just doesn't have a character to make an impression on its own.

+++++++

AAA:

This music was written by a 1997 musician. I really liked it because they don't write now. I even gave it a high rating because Spectrum comes first nostalgia. But the competitors are strong today!

+++++++

Unbeliever:

Klim put out a good track in fifth position.I wonder when this was written then or now? The most powerful drums again...

+++++++

Garm:

This is roughly the composition I usually associate with the concept "eight-bit music" A kind of rhythmic background accompaniment for keygen, demo or for something else. And there is nothing in the music itself that would make you turn attention to her (4/10).

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) literally the first seconds of the track are encouraging that transyatin will be trampled on right now some :)) but no. In general, the structure of the track can be noted that it clearly delayed. on the one hand, long, tiring losses that set you up for waiting for something original, on the other hand - drawn out to such an extent melodies that you are already starting to forget where they began :)) nah melodies, I'll say it again :)) 2) it looks like the lead sample was made with a tone shift, it distorts a little when high tones begins to sound out of tune. then, for some reason I finally didn’t hear the drums, then while the worker is generally made too fizzy and prolonged. further that... ah... the envelope in my opinion sounds much richer with the tone. in the rest... ornaments are just ornaments, traditional sound in general. probably This is why the track received an “average” rating in the voting.

6_rnR T.A.D. 7D9 - summer_days

elfh/cpu:

nq> a couple of thoughts :)

Well, at the beginning I don’t have one moveIt was very good, but now everything is playing great. I don’t know what else to tell you)

Does nq> look like a guitar?)

now

nq> guitar strumming would be beautiful)

I like the simplicity and naivety of the sounds, the fabulous atmosphere. maybe it's true did the person pick the guitar?

nq> I don’t know :) it reminds me of searches

+++++++

Uoki-Toki:

what can I say?) Such a normal picker. The sound is similar to a harpsichord)

nq> :)

this could make a normal pop track. Add there drums...

nq> doesn’t it sound like guitar strumming? as a guitarist you should be clearer this :)

it seems.

nq> For some reason the author limited himself to only what is there. nq> thanks for the feedback)

+++++++

Siril/4D:

The track is similar in mood to Finder, to emphasize the lyrical detachment uses exclusively minimalist technique: “multi-channel polyphony” TS. Perhaps bass/drums would enliven the track, expand the dynamic range, would add action. Not exactly a party track. But maybe that's exactly what it was author's intention: chill out in a party frenzy.

+++++++

MelodyHacker:

what kind of new age is this? Come on, meat!

+++++++

AAA:

A good little musician, calm and fair, melodious. Let him not be the first place. but leaves bloom under it, it begins to shinethe sun is running water on the sidewalks. And this demo is called SPRING!!! Super awesome music indeed in fact. Although it doesn't have cool tools, it's made from the head and that's the only music at the party in which the melody and plot are clearly visible and under which you can do something vital. For example, a demo about spring, a stream and tree with blossoming leaves.

+++++++

Unbeliever:

rnr T.A.D. 7D9 - who are you? The track is not bad, but with something like that at our parties win, although such tracks are in great demand in the production of the same games and diskzine.

+++++++

Garm:

But this is just an atypical track for eight-bit. In any case, for me personally such atmospheric sketches are more associated with the harpsichord or acoustic guitar than with old equipment. Maybe the melody could have been made more difficult – I don’t know, I’m not an expert or a composer. But even without “maybe” it’s very beautiful track (8/10).

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) a wonderful track, with a little sadness, I would say, a requiem for the best achievements of Spectrum musicians, which we see less and less often hear :)) TS in such tracks enriches the sound and gives instrumentalists (keyboardists, and maybe guitarists) the opportunity to rearrange their experimental exercises for spec. Once upon a time, I remember, Davos wrote excellent keyboard selections. 2) it is worth noting that despite the change in rhythm andchord progressions, In my opinion, it would be worth more effort with the coloring of this work more varied techniques than banal seventh chords :)

7_jerrs - space

radjee/mayhem:

This track, nostalgic, reminded me of music from Soviet or Czech/Polish children's films.

nq> but indeed, some elements are reminiscent of music from Polish games =)

It's definitely not J-pop.

nq> I don’t know much about films) but there is some kind of children’s story.

but still, it doesn’t have such melody as factorb, tdm, x-agon.

nq> maybe JeRrS didn’t want to oversaturate the track, factorb, tdm and x-agon have them often have complex improvisational inserts.

It turned out to be such a batch of memories of a Soviet schoolboy, after the summer holidays, here I watched “The Flying Ghost Ship” several times and "Maria, Mirabela" and a bunch of other things)

nq> dadada, to the point - these are the names :) nq> thank you for your feedback!

Please)

+++++++

Arty Noonzen/DR:

In general, it’s cool that something else appears, but probably already in trackers for Windows. but it’s bad that there is no competition like before. it's bad that it all ends and how It won’t be before, there will be memories, there will be memory. Well done guys, what they are doing, although the level is no longer the same.

nq>Are you talking about this track or in general?

in general. the track is a reflection of the fact that it’s not getting better =) I didn’t like the track, if you’re interested in my subjective opinion.

nq> well, just the opposite! ) nq> the author appeared in 2007, if I’m not confused. nq> that is, at the moment he is simply good from all sides) nq> thanks for the feedback)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvFLAhxzjkM Well, it’s also 2009. you can do it ok =)

nq> yes, maybe it’s just that the level of work is STILL not the same? :)

Well, that's what I'm talking about =) It just used to be THAT! and now you have to catch each one, shake it off and see if it’s the right one or not =) Come to the Assembly, there will be that level =)

nq> simply in the phrases “not the same yet” and “no longer the same”, as in the phrases “glass half empty" or "half full" difference :)

Well, if it’s true, it won’t be like before. Are you familiar with probability? the number of talented people doing the same thing should be maximum for the emergence of masterpieces. otherwise you will get mediocrity. yes, in general, everything has changed.

nq> we have the opinion that it will be the way we want it :) yes, there won’t be those people like there were before, but these are no worse.

stop pulling old templates into reality =) I have Emax/TRSI “Delictae Oooz” as my main ringtone on my phone.

nq> there is a lot of music now, a lot of musicians, Spectrum musicians have not limited to just the Spectrum, I think everything is not as critical as it is for you it seems)

All this just shouldn’t be called Spectrum, there’s Chip Tunes. Spectrum has finished distributing, don’t try to ride out at the expense of its former glory, using trends =)

nq> if we are talking about Spectrum releases, like the same dems, these chiptunes great fit for them :) yes, we don’t write them on real specs anymore, but if necessary, everything will go to them.

nq> is now just a competition of formats.

one dick all then in the stream.

nq> organizers always try to play from real life.

is this the only track from the party?

nq> no, do you want more? =)

what about the best one? =)

Siril/4D:

2nd place in the hit parade. The 6-channel TS is beautifully used, giving the ability to simulate polyphony by dividing the main theme into three channels, which gives us the simultaneous harmonic sound of several notes of a melody.

+++++++

MelodyHacker:

also chewing gum.

+++++++

AAA:

And this music is the best at this party, somewhat reminiscent of a barrel organ from VOXEL, super!!! JERS, write and we will put everything in the right place!!!

+++++++

Unbeliever:

If I'm not mistaken, this is one of those tracks that seemed crazy at the party familiar (as if it were a cover).I don’t know, same complaint, for music compo you need more expression. Although, complex tracks are usually not received by the ear with first time.

+++++++

Garm:

That's what I love! A magnificent melody (resembling, however, something Japanese-game), a rhythm far from the usual untsatsi, the atmosphere of interstellar flight... It’s just a pity that this happiness ends so quickly (9/10).

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) I didn’t hear anything cosmic in this track :)) rather this music would come to the end credits after GAME OVER in some arcade children's wanderer. all because, in my opinion, it sounds naive, somehow inappropriate “computer”... we mean the implementation of some more technological ones that have relation to cyberculture of motives and genres of music. apparently for the author Spectrum remains outside of genres, no influence of modern music on spec or 8bit in general are not even considered as possible, although the opposite effect is undeniable. what's in In general, it’s a shame that the music on the spec remains in the “retro” category... 2) the author put 2 tracks on the compo, so I don’t think about his technique It's worth repeating about this, as well as about missed opportunities using TS... although, why use it to write frank retro, I don't get it anymore.

+++++++

Fatal Snipe/Phenomena:

Reminded me of old school - very high quality!!! and beautiful... but not at the demo party pullsin my opinion. The flow of notes and the plot of the track are there and very exciting! you can listen non-stop (which is what I’m actually doing now). doesn't put pressure on the brain - rolls over the senses and gives joy and positivity!

8_riskej - Pings Over the Era

Yuri Matveev/Step:

What should I say? Not bad music, quite professional level. Technically competent, although, I would file some of the sound :) But that's my taste. The music is full of optimism, music of good mood.

nq> everyone expressed themselves in their own way, some based on technique, some based on emotions, caused by music, some completely go away from the topic. but you noted everything well, thank you! :)

+++++++

Platosha/Cornercut:

well, good track. You can praise the author for the catchy melody and wonderful arrangement. Doesn't show off with technology, doesn't irritate with drive, doesn't tires with style, but it’s easy to imagine how good the song could be, if recorded in full sound.

nq> does not show off with technology, well said :) nq> thank you for your feedback.

+++++++

Vibe/Cornercut:

The track is nice, but pretty standard for my taste. Reminds me a little r'n'b arrangements with a touch of Russian folk melodies. No pronounced melodic line - it rather complements and decorates the harmonic sequence. I want more andfurther development, which ultimately does not comes, due to which the sensations from the composition are somewhat blurred. Technically - ok.

+++++++

Siril/4D:

Playing with a stereo panorama and confidentially highlighting individual phrases at different levels loudness, a “walking”, contemplative theme is demonstrated to us by riskej. He leads listener in a rather interesting and friendly area, filled with simple and pleasant joys. It seems that the melody should be looped because it ends mid-sentence.

+++++++

MelodyHacker:

plus for lyricism (suitable for the soundtrack to a children's cartoon), minus primitiveness and brevity.

+++++++

AAA:

Disperses for a long time, very calm music, for the ICE DEMO demo, at the same time. I him I listen and relax, I write letters for my mistress to it, I study to it sex with my wife. My rhythm, slowly, with feeling, with sense, with arrangement accents. He stuck it in and stuck it out. It's a pity that it's so short, I don't cum so quickly. I love you at least half an hour to tinker...

+++++++

Unbeliever:

In the track riskej, even after zero listening, there is a clear hint of the epilogue from Forever. The author should take the trouble to double the track and play this one more A memorable sample, perhaps ppl would have snatched it up. Overall, not bad!

+++++++

Garm:

Preparation for something. Or a backing track for hip-hop. Like Seryoga - heard here something from "black"boomer." But as an independent work - well, I don’t know... (3/10)

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) once, a long time ago, I wrote a track with a duration of 2:30 and was very shocked by how I managed to do it and fit it into a week :)) the track was swift, flew by instantly... but unfortunately was lost just as instantly, never reaching the SS :)) okay, let's go back to reality. in general, I'm still not sure realized what it was. is this a compo job? most likely written in half an hour, from which takes 10 minutes to create samples and copy patterns :)) well guys, I don’t I know why such things need to be done in the first place, what’s the interest in it, and secondly, exhibit it at a party, dooming yourself in advance to being an obvious outsider. well although from the point of view of such an approach as “the main thing is not victory, but participation” it may be and all means are good.

9_siril - dancing with kaddafi

Ized/Quite:

Yes, somehow he doesn’t mean anything at all. beeper?

nq> ay-chip :) nq> are you familiar with the original?

no)

nq> Infected Mushroom - Dancing with Kadafi nq> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsXXOfGwScM

go!

nq> what did you think :)

shame on me)

nq> so throw back the veil of respect and tell me what you don’t like?)

I'll check out the original. damn, I don't have that album of theirs. disgrace.

nq>you sit there, you see nothing but coding. nq> come on, now it’s as if you were listening for the first time and didn’t feel disgraced.

no, I can’t say anything. I'm not a critic in this matter)

nq> well, was the track at least a success as a remix?

yes, it was a success)

nq> thanks for your opinion)

+++++++

Mic/Progress:

We do not know what picture the author of this track imagined. Judging by everything, it was something with an epic intro for half a minute, and then - “cubes and bagels" (unfortunately, I could not imagine a dancing Muammar). Obviously, an attempt to wrap four chords in a lot of technological AY sounds was not successful. Closer to the middle of the track, you can’t help but wonder what that's exactly what was meant. In general, this is the same case when the author, forgetting about musical component, became interested in arrangement.

+++++++

EA/Antares:

Written by a “techie”, i.e. Lots of effects and bells and whistles. Just like a demonstration possibilities of chip music. There is no melody. Therefore my rating is below average. Music should be music rather than a set of effects.

+++++++

Ironman:

I listened to it, it sounds very original, especially all these floating envelopes on bass, ornaments on chords and oscillating noise.. I like it (haven't heard it for a long time similar music...

+++++++

Andrey Isaev - Kano/MKHG:

Lately I've been trying todead people... either good or nothing. Honestly, I downloaded the track and listened to it... to say I didn’t like it would be an understatement nothing... not my style... not my aesthetics... even if 90% of the sensations were stolen conversion to PCM/MRZ.

+++++++

Siril/4D:

Cover version of the track "dancing with kaddafi" by Infected Mushroom. The track consists of two parts: from the beginning and end of the original track, lasting about 6 minutes. And is partly a technical demonstration of auto-cyril, in parts of the downmix of a multi-channel midi source with a multi-channel envelope and automatic resolution of conflicts on this envelope. Envelope simultaneously present on 3 channels, simultaneously performing both melodic and bass functions. However, the track is not a pure conversion, manual modification and processing (in terms of noise modulations and additional “decorations”) is assessed by the author approximately 30%-40%.

+++++++

MelodyHacker:

inarticulate gameboyism; if anything, the music for the Mario brothers doesn’t suit me at all either I like it.

+++++++

AAA:

If the author had not sent it to me, I would have been completely sure that it was Carbofosina wrote. Although, they say, he became an alcoholic after watching demos from AAABAND. good music, interesting, especially for an artist. That's right, it was written by the artist, like would be in strokes, unusual. Only a painter could write like this. Well done! Come on again if anything goes wrong, let's gogangsters, we will insert everything somewhere. And then we There is nothing to insert with our pussies.

+++++++

Unbeliever:

Siril's acutely political experiments with consciousness probably turned out to be are of interest to all musicians. However, listeners are not always able to appreciate such moves. Moreover, this composition probably plays correctly only on a working the place of its author (more on this in the afterword). Write more, what!

+++++++

Garm:

Cover of the track Infected Mushroom. I haven't heard the original, so it's hard to judge as far as the author managed to transfer it to the eight-bit platform. A regardless of the original source, the composition sounds extremely strange - sounds that (as far as I understand) should symbolize all sorts of psychedelic effects strangely piled on top of a single keyboard riff. And all this in the background twitchy clicking drums... But the attempt is counted, yes (5/10).

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) judging by the title of the track, writing a review of Cyril is as dangerous as and get involved with the “lion of the desert” Gaddafi :))) he has been a musician for a long time formed, although I would not say that I am impressed by his style. he as crazy as the Japanese anime artists, and in other respects, just like the Japs :)). Every time I listen to his tracks, I come to the conclusion that in order to write music on the Spectrum, you need to be a little prone to schizophrenia. just write, create and discover something for yourselfunexpected turns and be able to present 8 beat sound as a musical phenomenon that has a right to exist, and not just a “tribute to fashion”, fun or “retro classics”. 2) this is what Cyril knows how to do very well - mess with the envelope. and have fun on the verge of a foul, making her not a “slave”, a kind of hard worker, only dryly emphasizing the accompaniment of the composition, but really the leading instrument. in In general, I am for this approach. I am sure, and moreover, it is clearly audible, that he feels quite confident when working with AU sound and possibilities, in a reproach to those musicians who believe that 3 channels have exhausted themselves and are promoting with their feeble attempts to create a turbo sound, they lobby for the party compo, thereby showing his helplessness and musical inferiority. 3) regarding the technique and quality of samples in this track, I don’t see any point write. here, as they say, the main thing is the result - a rich track that pops up like a jack-in-the-box and making you wonder what it was? :)))

10_aer-nes

Cannibal/Techno Lab:

well, it’s okay, old school 8 bit) Do you by any chance write in the spirit of the c64 style? )

nq> Do you think the music has changed a lot since you last listened to it? :) nq> I write all sorts of things :) nq> a little off topic :) nq> anything else you can add to the track you listened to? )

wow,tough) well, what should I add? I don't know the introductory problems. is this for a game?

nq> no, this is from DiHalt, remember, they used to take place on the Spectrum, so called demopati? Well, this year (literally a few days ago) passed similar to demopati. nq> this is a work from her, I just wanted to know your opinion about her)

Well, how can I forget about demopati? :D

nq> I'm just in case :)

Well, to be honest, the tune of the envelopes is a little childish. I like your scenic delights. like funk or how to say it correctly :)

nq> Zhenya, there is not a single envelope in this track :)

mmm... I meant the tune itself. ah, ornament! here)

nq> thanks for your opinion)

+++++++

fyrex/mayhem:

why are you so interested in him?

nq> I'm interested in what you think about him)

hmm, yes, I gave him few points)

nq> why?

doesn't hit the notes. as far as I can distinguish the notes)

nq> intentionally :) at the end of the track there is a complete riot. nq> there was a certain calculation here, most likely the goal was the last place.

If only there were more serious samples or a cool melody. it would be better. Well, I don’t know, I don’t see any purpose at all) he reminded me of how I tried to write tracks on au. That's exactly what happened - there's nothing funny about it) I agree, of course, that mmsm onfirst places. but there is no point in considering it)

nq> if your first melodies turned out the SAME, then we have lost you musician :)

but finding out why this one took the last place is also somehow wrong. It also reminds me of unfinished melodies in dems aaa. Well, in general, I have a negative attitude towards such things)

nq> thanks for the explanations :)

+++++++

Siril/4D:

It’s difficult to say what the author is trying to tell us, I can assume that before We are trying to reproduce the average arcade game Mouzon for the NES, hence the samples with deep slides (or ornaments with deep slides), creating the appropriate atmosphere. The disadvantages of the track include lack of developing melody, non-use of delay techniques typical for AY, and an envelope for bass (however, the omission may be intentional).

+++++++

MelodyHacker:

also about nothing; platformer soundtrack.

+++++++

AAA:

Well done, AIR, one thing after another and you will be like KSA, he also wrote at first not particularly cool (AY MEGADEMO1), but I appreciated all his melodies and inserted them according to demos. Forced him to write MORE!!! AND ESSEE!!! He moaned, begged for mercy, complained MKHG on me. As a result, I raised you a monster of music!

+++++++

Unbeliever:

10th place, it kind of hints to us. It's hard to say which is the NES and which is the NES the author meant. It seems that AER is onlybegins to master mastery AY-chip and we won’t interfere with it.

+++++++

Garm:

A fun track - mechanical, disharmonious, silly and catchy. Ultimately leaving a pleasant aftertaste and a good mood (7/10).

+++++++

C-jeff:

*No comments*

+++++++

Miguel/CPU:

1) this madness is even crazier than I can imagine :D just a nightmare :) The person, as I understand it, is new to the spec, which basically explains everything... oh, I don’t even know what else to add... probably the classic “study, study and study again...

A few general points.

Unbeliever:

the whole compo was filled with quite good works and everyone would have a party like this compo. It’s a pity that we didn’t see more authors and some had to be exhibited two jobs, which in itself is not very sporting.
