IMMORTAL "Winter of the ages"Hello, my little Christ sellers! Today I want
tell about interesting things that have appeared in the world and in my
collections, although somewhat outdated, but not lost from
this is its uniqueness. This review was compiled by me one and a half
years ago. Only recently was it removed from the dusty archive and
completely reanimated. Unfortunately, due to the small influx of new
releases in Cannibal's home, make a review of purely black ones
commands failed. But the review turned out to be more democratic.

As always, the guys from England shocked the world
the public with their new creation. Actually all the albums
are good, but this one, in my opinion, is just a masterpiece! Naturally
hecmehhoe direction of the group - high vampiric evil gothic black
metal! Now also with opera inserts. The album turned out very well
melodious; quite a lot of synthesized keyboard
arrangements; choir of female high voices against the background of ultra high
Dani Davey's scream, turning into a whisper or a vampire roar.
By the way, two versions of "Midian" have been released - ordinary and Japanese
(?). (see the official home page in i-net) What are the differences, except
title picture, I don't know, because... I have one of the versions
on CD, judging by the picture, Japanese.
In general, look for it and you won’t regret it!

"House of God" is another album by the legendary Diamond, not
forced himself to wait, being born last year, in his
invariable style of gothic speed metal, with evil lyrics.
Interesting, but not the best. There is no virtuosity inherent
let's say, his first project - Mercyful Fate or again the same
original musical solutions and melody of the album "The
Graveyard" by KD. As always, stories, as always, are Evil. For
It doesn't hurt to have collections.

The very fact of the appearance of a new album from this angry thrash
group (working in different directions) after several years
calm had a very favorable effect on the quality of this new
disk. Imagine their aggressive album "Far beyond"
driven", only more melodic! Phillip Ancelmo,
smoking like a pig, gives off a powerful charge of a peculiar
a scream, a real extreme male scream, or else
a pitiful semblance of hardcore bands. Slow insertions, yes
greatly irritated everyone in the penultimate album of 1996 (The
great Southern Trendkill), are simply missing here. Just
put the disc on and go.

Hmm... I don't even know how to characterize this release.
"Lego" - hardcore. Anyone who has heard their album "Tribe" knows me
will understand. The guys used to hang out at the intersection of death and
black'a, but after the album of '98, they began to push to the masses
hardcore. There has been a noticeable tendency for many Western bands to move towards
in this unhealthy direction. Although, perhaps fans of hardcore and
delighted with Lego. Personally I'm not a fan of this
directions.

There have been three releases over a five-year history. I would define style as
Around-grind thrash. So, "Graveyard Classics" is nothing

Cryptopsy, that's what. The album turned out to be super heavy. Even

A constant penchant for paganism, dating back to the times
A new type of sepylura, which stands out most clearly in the current one
Max Cavalera group. "Primitive" is a fresh project (in terms of
ideas) and is Soulfly's second commercial album. Music
quite difficult to characterize (experts, don’t hit me
feet :), in my opinion, this is an alternative plus industrial c
elements of mechoro folklore. Seasoned in their neo-pagan
style, the music leaves a fairly positive impression.
Max's vocals are top notch as always. Texts... Better read them
themselves... Aboriginal culture is strongly present in creativity
gangs, not interfering in any way. The only thing you can do
to find fault - this is a bonus track, designed in the style of heavy
rap. Somehow it is written out of topic and causes confusion,
wedged between the rest, the normal ones. But this is probably
the only drawback is that in general the disc can be listened to on one
breathing.

Opera... Hear and Die. Who cares, but for me it’s -
Music of the soul. What kind of group is this with such a long name?
new album? Opera IX is a measured,
melodic sympho black metal with a fantasy twist. This one is Italian
the group simply amazes with their virtuous mastery of instruments,
making you simply admire their melody and richness
songs. The album exudes a magical atmosphere; dragons, ancient
gods, magical temples, etc. This disc is very similar to
previous album from 1998 "Sacro Culto", which also
performed at a very high professional level. Difficult
to say which one is better - listen to both.

"Kriegsgotten II" - muhboh, that is, black metal mini album
collective Mystic Circle (Mystical Circle) The release contains only
five songs, three of which are tributes to some
musical solutions of such teams as Bathory, Acheron and Celtic
Frost. As if a tribute is paid to these "masters" of Black Metal,
working in different periods of time. Played in principle
not bad, but I couldn’t notice anything particularly outstanding -
"trip" doesn't count. Normal "black" - for the collection
will do.

This stew is a mixture of black and doom that came to us
from our brothers - Slovak. The first thing that catches your eye is
beautiful booklet. Indeed, the design of the cover is pleasant.
The music, in my opinion, is doom with blacker elements.
Two female vocals and a low male growl interact
together, but often apart. Symphony elements are viewed.
We should also talk about the lyrics. She's sad, just like the name
album. It's quite fascinating to translate how wild horned
the Vikings devastated our land (apparently this implies
Slovak), how they burned villages and killed people... It’s sad, but
you need to know history. Musical aspects: first few songs
are interesting solutions, but the following
leave an impression of monotony.

As you know, the group today works in the style
doom, but was previously known as working at the atmospheric level
death Strictly speaking, "Beyond Sanctorum" is modern
remix of the 1991 album. Very melodic death music, you can
to say, even juicy (after all, the atmosphere). Good old
Therion from the early nineties. The disc has five bonuses, which are
demos of existing tracks. Overall the album leaves a very
good impression.

Actually, the Russian pagan group Butterfly Temple
released his new album, kept in the traditional
pagan style with arrangement, for example saxophone. Album
saturated with electronic sounds, which makes the naturalness lost
the usual blacker sound, but this band (according to
musicians themselves) is not black, it is pagan. I would
said that this is a pop pagan - the guys got too carried away
electronic arrangement. Not that it rules, but you can listen.

Finally, in Russia they began to appearworthy of doom
teams! And not just doom, but pagan doom. "Northern Gate" as
this is a command that you not only can, but must listen to!
The lyrical theme is as good as ever: valor, strength and
the courage of the Russians, times not darkened by the Jewish religion. You can
say, local Enslaved, but not viking metal (black), but
pagan doom with Slavic folklore elements. By the way,
all releases of the team that came into my hands are
licensed CDs with color cover, and most importantly - with high quality
recorded tracks, which is reassuring - not so often in
Russian metal bands have the opportunity to qualitatively
sign up.
The music is charming - pure male Slavic vocals,
guitar parts repeating the motifs of ancient Russian folk music
music. Worthy team!
