Interviews - An Interview with Jordan / Exodus, the author of excellent demos
Interview with Krzysztof Borowisski
by alx, elfh

Today we offer you an interview with Krzysztof
Borovitskie, better known as Jordan / Exodus, the author
magnificent work "Dies Irae", "Real Action" and many others,
classics truly Spectrum demomeykinga.

alx> Hi! Nice to see one of the legends of Spectrum
demomeykinga! Our readers would be interested to ask you
a few questions in order to get more information.

elfh> Hi, I'm an editor of Spectrum magazine
'Adventurer'. I wanted to take you to the next interview
numbers of our magazine, but alx was quicker. But he allowed me
to participate in the conversation.

Jordan> Hi alx, elfh and all fans Speccy! Nice to you all
see!

alx> Well, let's start our dialogue, firstly, introduce
yourself.

Jordan> I am, you guessed it, a former member of the Exodus
team.

alx> C How did your passion for computers? Whether it was
Spectrum?

Jordan> Yes, of course - the first computer that I saw in the
Life was good old Spectrum 48K my friend. This was in
the late 80's. These were the hottest days when we were cut in
KnightLore and JetPac. I'm quite mad, and decided that I should
have such a machine. And in the end, I took over a stunning
Timex 2048. It was a clone 48go Spectrum - a rather popular
model in the our country in the 90th. And thus began my

Spectrum adventure.

alx> How do you start on the Spectrum? What were the
projects? A little more detail, please.

Jordan> You know, the idea of using the Spectrum in the
works, and not just for the game, came with time. At first, I
began to write on Basic'e simple program, and when it ceased to
suffice - took the assembler. I still remember the book, which
started a me - unforgettable "ZX Spectrum guide", written in
Polish authors Madej, Marasek and Kurylowicz. For us it was the
Bible. This book is still with me. But really it all began

I met new good friends - DC PAK and Roger. Roger
was the first of us who wrote DeMouy in assembler, but soon
he ceased to encode and play music (which he does and
this day).

My very first deme - "The City" - a simple vertical
bouncing scroller with voysmetrami and ragged music by Agent-X.
Shit. But it was the first step. And then something happened
unbelievable. We met with Agent-X! C by the ace! We were
still are fans of Agent-X. And it made possible
the emergence of "Exodus Megademo". We had a cool music on
Agent-X and a bunch of tips for coding (he taught us tricks
with a stack of Z80). After several months of operation, Dema
was ready.

As time passes, I can say that for us it was very
significant moment. When we learned how to properly use
Z80 assembler in front of us disappeared all the obstacles. We
could do anything that we did. Then came the Gallery, Music Bank

0, Living on Video, Gemini, Schizophrenia, Dies Irae, There,
Acheron, Lazarus, Real Action, and other demos. In fact,
the most productive of our group was DC, but I was lazy
:). I'm most proud of the Dies Irae and Real Action, and from
Projects DC - Schizophrenia, Twin Worlds and the incredible
Lazarus. We always knew that the quality and design of the most
important thing when you write DeMouy. And I think that we were
able to realize our ambitions.

elfh> 'dies irae' my favorite old school deme, and what
your (any platform)?

Jordan> I'm very glad you like it, this is my favorite
thing:) joke:) Actually, there are a lot of dem
and Spectrum, which can be called the best. One has only to
mention the "schizophrenia", "lazarus", "hypersonic 2,"
"Vibrations", "shock", "s4b", "binary love", "echology" and so
on. Pisi to me like the demos of Haujobb and Farbrausch.

elfh> What inspired you to create 'dies irae'? How did you
decide insert into DeMouy this story? Not affected by whether
the fantastic Literature?

Jordan> It's a long story. In short - I just can not remember
why I made this DeMouy too much grass, I think ... Well

Fiction? Certainly influenced! I figured you! I'm terrible
a fanatic of this genre. At my old apartment hundreds of books.
I used a fantastic plot to logically connect all

parts into something coherent. Incidentally, it was fun to
write this schizophrenic text, do not you think?

elfh> 'real action' - the last time you work on the Spectrum? No
any ideas and dust sources?

Jordan> It looks like it is, however, I have something
unreleased, quite a bit and a few crazy ideas. But
now I'm really busy and did not have the free time.
However, the chances of that from you to me something else to
see there.

elfh> C whom you kept in touch before? What your
bandmates now? And finally, how much were you when
was founded Exodus?

Jordan> I had talked with many - extacy, imp, omega, busy and
others across Europe. Unfortunately, they are a long time
nothing Heard, life goes on. Now, I occasionally found in

chat dc pak. Agent-X went to Singapore, as far as I know (I hope
only on vacation). How much should I be? Probably 19 - this is
me a little disappointing, the old fat asshole who I was now.

elfh> Swing Whether you are a new Spectrum software with
Demotopia or raww.org, or you are not interested in the present
state Spectrum scene? If yes, what are the latest releases you

interested?

Jordan> Yes, sometimes I shake my new software, but, frankly,
anything on which it was possible to delay your eyes I do not
found - maybe I'm wrong, because there are not looking. Can you
send me something worthy, that I may have missed?

elfh> Of course, something has come ... In general, if you are
interested in modern demoscene?

Jordan> Yes, most of the HRC demoscene, but only as
viewer, which is sad. I would like to do something on pisi, but
Again, I have no free time due to the specifics of my
work. I'm an engineer or network consultant and I spend almost
all while traveling in Europe. Maybe then I will be 60 in

I will have more time:)

alx> What are your hobbies? How do you spend your free time?
Maybe it is a party, a girl or something else? :)

Jordan> Very sad, but now I have no free time
for a hobby. Almost all the time I spent at work, sometimes
travel around the world, sometimes staying in place. But try
as often as possible to listen to music. In particular all
releases from GoodLooking Records, but also the Cinematic
Orchestra, Tricky, Morcheeba, Massive Attack, Thievery
Corporation, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy and others in the same
spirit. Yet I There is one special hobby - my lovely wife:)

alx> Do you drink? If so, what do you prefer? :)

Jordan> What else? %) In buzz we trust:). Most often, the beer,
but from time to time, exorbitant amount of cranberry vodka

Finlandia with fresh lemon and ice. By the way, well, you do not
asked what I like to smoke, because my answer would be no
too correct in terms of education for young people:)

elfh> Ok, it was nice to chat with you. We hope that you
too much. Bye.
