     1. The best emulation of AY through _Adlib_, on my opinion,
implemented in the Shalaev emulator version 3.05. Of course the sound is not
similar  to  the original, but music recognizable and not irritating
monotony, such as, for example, in UKV Spectrum Debugger (because
that in the latter the envelopes are reproduced much less accurately).
I can  send  improved  algorithm  emulation./ 2. Best
programmatically played sound AY or YM (by the way, what do you need
more do you like it?  ;)) you can hear in Z8OStealth, !BUT! he
will be indistinguishable from the original only in modes 32 and 64, and for them
work required ESS AudioDrive board. In modes 1, 2, 4 and 6
(44100 Hz) you may feel that the noise does not sound right
loudly, like on a real chip (and perhaps you won’t feel it ;)
), a in mode 3 this will probably be felt by everyone. I recommend
enable mode 3 only for digital AY music (eg. Digital
Studio) andthings like SounDrive and General Sound.           
                                                                
     3. Emulators Sergey Bulba (AY Emul or ZX-Spectrum Sound
Chip Emulator 2.0 or 2.1) and Roman Shcherbakov (Vortex Plug-In
3.00 for WinAMP) are also distinguished by the highest accuracy. But if
first provides you with the most diverse service, starting with
configuration chip, and ending with searching and playing modules
in the format of almost all Spectrum music editors, -
then  in  Vortex,  you can  enable  more  high frequency
audio sampling: 48000 or 96000 Hz, if your audio
boards operate at these frequencies. In general, these two emulators IMHO
can be called friendly friend friend, and the sound that they
produced, I personally cannot distinguish by quality.               
                                                                
     4. Zephyr, emulator Stinger under Windows and MMX. This is
probably the only emulator that uses digital
characteristics real Low-pass filter for processing the AY stream and beeper.
As a result, it is the best beeper emulator at 44100 Hz on
today. I can’t say the same about AY: “white”
the noise is different from the noise of the real AY. And is it really necessary to be so complicated?
audio filtering for AY? - For me this is an open question. ;)  5. RealSpec by Ramsoft.  Wow that sounds good. Similar to
Zephyr, only, of course, without filtering. Brrrrr... ;)         
                                                                
     6. ZX_Emul 0.34 by Lion17. There is no filtration. Even though I
tested ZX_Emul in mode SBPro, on ES1688 crystal, I
received:                                                        
- absolutely incorrect reproduction of the period of "white" noise     
- it is overestimated several times!                              
is simply terrible;- non-cyclic envelopes are sometimes reproduced several   
times, instead of  one.                                           
    But... every silver lining good! This emulator, as far as I'm concerned
known to be the first in which real signs were used
potentials of DACs AY and YM and that is why, in spite of everything,
the sound is very similar to the original.                                   
                                                                
     7. R80 by Raul Gomez. Given that this emulator uses
correct plates of potentials AY and YM (well, for example, unlike
X128), he has any no idea about quality
thinning high-frequency flow on 44100 Hz. Due to
why sound the higher the sound, the more disgusting it turns out
frequency  is programmed for playback.  Precisely because
applying a simple thinning procedure, this emulator works
faster than all of the above. In addition to the Shalaev emulator ;)      
                                                                
     Regarding filtering in the emulators of Sergei Bulba and Roman
Shcherbakova (V_Soft), - I have no information about her. B
Z8OStealth implemented selective filtering of high frequencies for
modes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 32. In 64 mode, AY and YM are played
almost one to one.And here's also that. In addition to the emulators listed above, I
others are unknown that reproduce AY more or less correctly. Yes
what if suddenly these are known to the respected zx-public, I will
grateful for the story about them.
