Sorrow News - Results Doxycon'98 and FunTop'98.

 Two events of the year already happened. Gone demopati in the 
Czech Republic and Russia. And were successful.  Until all the 
work Doxycon'a not made public, I can not give an overall 
assessment, and give only a quick results according to AN 
(although demo, took 1 st place, made an impression;).


DOXYCON'98. Demo compo:

1) Higher State / 3SC Software Commando (Slovakia)
2) Genetic Error / K3L Corp (Czechia)
3) Circlusions / Speccy Boyz (Slovakia)
4) The Last / Excellent Speccy Aces (Czechia)
5) Fear Zone / Naughty Crew (Chechia)

 Results Funtop98 also did not take long to wait ;-). Absolute 
sensation, and it is already possible to say exactly, was the 
work VAV'a nomination 4K. Interestingly, in an interview in the 
last issue Zhenya drew attention on the ability of VAV'a, so 
that can be said to predict its success;). In general, these 
effects and even on one track, no one on the Spectrum did not 
see - a very awesome, especially in terms of coding. Interested 
parties can even compile the source code of GOA, and make sure 
it works:).  Generally speaking, competition 4K expectations, 
and work in this nominations are very interesting. Since they 
have shown the possibility of Spectrum!

 Digital Reality once again very pleased with quality demos. 
One name gives us some optimism. And I was not quite believe 
that it will be Forever:). Name it seemed simple, but painfully 
expressive ... There are many ways to evaluate demos and 
compare the slope coding, quality effects, the style, but When 
the demo has a plot, meaning, and even makes you think, then it 
is done not in vain, and it is higher than any estimates. 
Confirmation of the exclusivity of dR was such prizanie 
Oldman'a, known for his impartial stance in relation to 
demomeykeram. Although, Binary Love, too, because the demo, so 
to speak, philosophical meaning: what is love? Forever And 
there are other eternal question: what is live? .. all and 
comparing nothing.I these two works dR, I came to think 
(forgive me for it, crazy :-) that just in this regard in

 But in general, the goal was achieved, these effects are 
remembered, but the price of this storyline has become less 
zametnoy.Vot and makes all the difference. And Forever - is not

 But not for full-dem. Since it speaks only of
superiority of coding, nothing more. 4K is a competition

second place :-). The plot - a plot, it always causes a lot of 
sympathy, in contrast to simple set of effects.

 About the music compo, I say there is nothing I can not - just 
yet have not listened to. But judging from the available 
statements, nothing sensational. Yes, and did not listen to 
anybody, they say: (. Jaan / PHT was not involved, Suha / dR, 
Mic / PGS did not make the top three. Zhenya / 0 does not 
score. Conditions were normal for listening in stereo:). About

would like to hear opinions of at least some professional in

review of schedules to participate in FunTop'e. For those who

 Now a few words about the unpleasant things in the FT98. 
Several works in all categories, including one demo, reached 
only to the registration department, but the competition was 
not hit. However, almost all of this is the fault of the 
participants had not fulfilled the conditions competitive 
registration of applications. In this respect, Front was 
principled and steadfast, and to cope with the crowd, suddenly 
coming to his senses, the contestants' was not easy. 
Nevertheless, as it turned out, after the announcement of the 
results, some of the rules was still breached, for example, 
registration gfx and music works "without departing from the 
Qassam, the nomination of several works by one author, 
participated in Competition works without notifying their 
authors), but it is just details. In general, computer art 
festival was a success, and summarizing, we can say the truth: 
a good Funtop was better bad Enlight'a ;-). Thanks again to the
