Millennium Demo Party'1901
Rules (Version 0.7)


   Introduction

A few words about how Millennium Demoparty'1901 will be held 
and the main differences from our previous parties. Main task 
organizers consider holding demoparty a qualitatively new 
level. This means that we will make every effort

that all components were held (as it was
at the last festival), so that all work
were fairly priced to winners
were worthy of prizes, and all visitors
did not regret the money spent and received
pleasure.

    Millennium Demoparty will be held in the premises of one of 
the Minsk clubs with good acoustic equipment. Progress party 
will be discussed in detail in onlinereportazhe on the site. 
Winners will receive prizes - The expected prize pool of $ 
150,200. As everyone can hiddenpart have fun at entertainment 
events - Internet party Y2K-party, where they will

replayed numerous computer
prizes.

  Platform: PC, Amiga, ZX Spectrum.


  2. General Provisions


    Rules of Conduct, compliance with which
required of all visitors:

    - Smoking is allowed only in designated areas.

    - Do not litter, use
profanity.

    - Access to Technology organizers is possible only with the 
permission and under the supervision of the organizers. 

    If you violate the above rules, the security service can be 
applied to violator necessary interventions. In

the event of damage or knowingly
by negligence, the offender must compensate the damage.

    - All participants must pre-register by filling out the 
questionnaire. 

    - All visitors encouraged to fill out a visitor. This and

  3. Competition works


    - All work must be submitted no later than 2 days before 
the party. It is desirable to pass the work in advance to check 
them to the party-machine. 


    - Articles can be handed one of the
following ways:

    1) By e-mail.

    2) Netmail'om via FidoNet.

    3) by ordinary mail.

    4) On the diskette, HDD or CD the day of the party. This is 
allowed only for larger works (> 2Mb), or in exceptional

cases, but not later than 12:00 the respective bid item.


    - Preferably the presence of the author's work
or his representative. One person can not
represent the work of different groups or authors, not of the 
same group. Work not having a representative may also 
participate in the competition, but 

    they do not participate in the distribution of prizes.


    - PC intro and demo must work correctly in DOS-window 
Windows'98, complete work by pressing Esc.



  4. Contests


    -= PC =
1. 512b intro
Maximum of 1 min. Total will be shown not
More than 10 works.

2. 4K intro
A maximum of 3 minutes. Total will be shown not
More than 10 works.

3. 16K intro
Maximum of 5 minutes. Total will be shown not
More than 10 works.

4. 64K intro
Maximum of 5 minutes. The total size of intro not more than 
65536 bytes. Total will be shown not More than 10 works.


5. MegaDemo
A maximum of 10 minutes. Size of archive (zip, rar)
demo with no more than 8Mb.

6. Accelerated MegaDemo. A maximum of 10 minutes.,
DirectX-7, OpenGL. Size of archive (zip,
rar) with a demo - no more than 8Mb. General Requirements: 
P2-500, 64Mb RAM (550Kb low mem), DPMI (DOS-window of Win98), 
VBE2.0, GUS/SB16/General MIDI. Forbidden pure animation. All 
work must work correctly in DOS-window Windows95/98 and 
terminated by pressing Esc. After the specified time work will 
be interrupted. 


-= Speccy =
1. 4K intro.
Simple Basic + boot code block
4096 bytes maximum. A maximum of 3 minutes. Total
It will be shown no more than 10 works.

2. 16K intro.
Simple Basic + boot code block
16384 bytes maximum. Maximum of 5 minutes. Total
It will be shown no more than 10 works.

3. 640K demo.
Maximum size - 1 TR-DOS disk.
A maximum of 10 minutes.

4. Hand-drawn graphics
1 work from the author. Total no more than 20 works. Prohibited 
transferred from other platforms or scan graphics. Standard 
screen 6912 bytes. 

5. On-interrupt music (AY).
Sources (ASM, ST, ST Pro, PT 2.X, PT3.X) +
module, compiled with the player under
Address C000h. A maximum of 3 minutes. There will be
demonstrated no more than 15 works.

General requirements:
Pentagon 128 (512) K / AY / TR-DOS 5.04; on the expiration
specified time work would be interrupted;
All work must be in TR-DOS without
protection; accepted work in the format of SCL,
TRD, hobeta; crush of work for the common
TR-DOS disks;


 -= Music (PC / Amiga) =

  1. 4-channel music (standard
ProTracker MOD) A maximum of 3 min., Size
file - no more than 1Mb, 15 works.


  2. Multichannel Music (S3M, IT, XM, MED)
A maximum of 4 min. And 32-channel, the file size
no more than 4Mb. 15 works. Not allowed
use the bagged samples (IT).


  3. Wild Music Compo maximum of 4 min. MP3,
WAV and standard formats are not trekernye
require software from the authors for their
playing.


  General requirements:

  A maximum of 2 works by the author (for
each of the competitions).


-= Graphics (PC / Amiga) =
1. 32-color hand-drawn graphics
Maximum 800x600x32c, all work must be
be made on a computer using 2Dredaktorov (not allowed scanned,
pre-rendered etc.). To confirm the origin of art, authors 
should provide a preselekt-commission 2.1 intermediate phase. A 
maximum of 20 works. There shall be no mention of the author 
(logos and etc.)


2. True-color graphics
Maximum 800x600x24. All work must be
be made on a computer (not allowed
scanned work, photos etc.).
A maximum of 20 works. Work must not contain any references to 
the author (logos etc.)


3. Oldskool graphics
Maximum 320x240x256c, all work must be
be made on a computer using
2D-editor (not allowed
scanned, pre-rendered etc.). For
confirm the origin of art, authors
should provide preselekt-commission
2.1 intermediate phase. A maximum of 20 works.
There shall be no mention of the author
(Logos, etc.)

4. Animation / Wild compo
Any standard format (FLI, FLC, AVI,
MPG), a maximum of 10 minutes. General requirements:
All graphic works will be shown on
twice the work with obscene content
will not be displayed. It is also desirable

for distribution.


-= Games =
1. PC Game compo
Maximum of 5 minutes.
Platform: Dos/Win32. Permitted
using DirectX, OpenGL, MMX.

2. ZX Spectrum Game compo
Maximum of 5 minutes, the game should take no
more than 1 disc. General Requirements: All work must either 
work in demo mode, or screened by the authors

or their representatives.

-= Special =
1. Wild compo
Maximum of 10 minutes, all the necessary hardware and
Software provides the author (s) of work. The number of jobs 
are regulated by the organizers party.


2. Competition logos / symbols of the other Millennium Party is 
expected to use work for registration party (tickets, forms, 
certificates, etc.) 


  5. Determination of Winners

    Winners in each competition are determined by a vote of 
visitors, each of which can assess any of the works on a 
10-point scale or to refrain from evaluation. The final grade 
is calculated as of the truncated mean (Ie, infrequent 
assessment will not be counted). 

    In the case of a large number of visitors is not
guaranteed by accounting for all evaluation sheets,
but will be considered at least half,
and guaranteed them a random selection.


  6. Prizes

    Supposed to award winners
much of the contest prizes. Expected prize fund - 150 .. $ 200.
Winners of other competitions and prize
receive incentive prizes (CD, T-shirts
symbolism etc.) All winners will receive official diplomas.

    Notes: Do not awarded the work
ranked last in its competition.
In the allocation of valuable prizes,
that no one is being ignored. Prizes will not be sent by mail.

    Each visitor is recommended to fill the questionnaire
