 Something about "The Lord of the Rings"      
 and Hollywood standards

 Tolkien created not only a book. He
created a whole world with thousands of years of use
torey, where the events described in the book
"The Lord of the Rings" is just a small one
ee episode (2 years against the backdrop of millennia!).
And this story is told very fragmentarily -

 Gimli the Dwarf plays a role in the film
