Review of Split Personalities for ZX Spectrum

Sinclair Classic #09

The Dutch didn't really take to the Speccy at all really, too busy buying dope from the cafe I guess. The Lords did quite a few demos in the late eighties which were probably some of the first on the scene. And there was ERNIEWARE, Ruud and Ernie Peske, a 'sensible husband' looking bloke and his geeky brother. The sliding block puzzle genre wasn't new to the Spectrum (or cheap Christmas crackers) but SPLIT PERSONALITIES took the format to new impressive heights.

There were ten screens in all to complete, the scary one on the right being one of the easiest (if you could hold back the vomit long enough). They even sought permission from the chosen few (the Queen was not into it though...) Those that did agree included Charles & Di (still having rumpo in those days!), Labours Neil Kinnock (which sadly doesn't look anything like him) and Clive Sugar - or is it Dave Lee Travis? You now also know where we got our cover star from... The graphics are superbly drawn from photographs, no naff digitizing here. Each screen piece comes flying out of a hole in the wall for you to position. You are hampered by rouge pieces which must be got rid of or used for bonus points. A time limit makes things fast, furious and addictive!
