AELITA-94
From May 20 to 22, another festival took place in Yekaterinburg
science fiction "Aelita-94".
This year's Aelita Prize laureate is Gennady Martovich
PRASHKEVICH for the “Spy” cycle, which currently includes
five stories published in collections and magazines. Comment-
ries are unnecessary.
This time the Start prize for the best debut book went to An-
drey SHCHERBAK-ZHUKOV for the collection "Tales of Strange Love". For the first time
in the history of domestic prizes, the author receives a major literary
a prize for publication in an amateur edition (the book was published
510 copies in total).
The prize named after I. Efremov was not awarded this year - it was not possible
find a sponsor who would finance it.
According to various sources, during "Aelita" there were
seminars on science fiction, fan press, bibliography, role-playing
new games and aspiring authors.
Everything was, in general, like in the good old days... Only

* This year two prizes were awarded in the domestic category
fiction: since it was decided not to award a prize in the category
criticism and journalism due to the lack of worthy candidates
