  Hello to all readers of the newspaper ZX Pilot!


   In this article I, ZK System, want to tell you about our 
group Excess team, it projects to date and for the future.


   Many have probably seen our successful
programs that were released recently -
Game A Last Hero of the Light Force, the editor of digital 
audio Excess Sample Editor, demo Excess de Luxe Paint and other

program. The aim of all our programs is always high quality and 
convenience work.


   I would like to tell a little about the
large and complex projects at present
day - a new graphical editor
Excess de Luxe Paint (hereafter simply EDP),
demo version of which appeared six months ago, many have 
probably already thought that this project is ordered to live a 
long time due to the fact that no new demos. Actually

Work continues on the editor and his
release is scheduled for January-February of 2000
year.

   Before you start writing the editor, I set a goal - to 
maximize comfort, especially in the mode of Magnify, since most 
of the time the artist is held in it. In the EDP to use 
interface that is used in Excess Sample Editor v1.4 with 
significant internal changes. The interface allows a user with 
the highest convenience of working with the program. Another

innovation was the introduction of user palette, allowing a 
twenty frequently applied color attributes and call

they use two or three keys.

   The main difference from all other EDP redaktorov image is
that the main program is a core to which are connected 
so-called plug-in modules, whose claim to nucleus occurs 
through the kernal. The user, knowing the basic commands 
nucleus (the description will be attached to a licensed copy of 
the program) will be able to write himself everything he 
needed. Convenience configuring the system achieved by the fact 
that For example, if you want to change the whole set

Cursors (arrows) do not need to change any of the sprites, just 
download a special file as a normal standard screen and make 
changes. 

   Also in the editor it is possible to download the background 
music to create a mask for Sprites, print the image on the 
printer and much more.


   It should be noted that the EDP in contrast to
all previous programs will not be free, ie shareware, 
approximate price a licensed copy of the detailed description 
will be $ 03.04, and it's worth it! 

   Next news certainly disappoint fans of the game Last Hero. 
The second episode games, probably will not be because

SIV Blader, the author of this game, left the Spectrum.

   Another enjoyable moment it may be that RA (exPanther) with 
Twin'om of Global Corp. scheduled to make a game, which will be 
announced in the near future. 

   Once I wrote a few good software programs, I felt the lack 
of a standard Speccy - kakoynibud heaped operating system, such 
as Windows, Amiga OS, etc. I decided to seriously address this 
issue, knowing that there are more and more operational system, 
but there is a small but! None from Spectrum Systems has no 
graphical interface to facilitate writing new program under 
this system, they only support a standard filesystem!


   Moreover, these systems take a hefty chunk of RAM, etc. (An 
exception is NeOS). 

   My operating system is installed in a computer as a small 
circuit board with a 3-4-chips. OS kernel Cybershell (tm) is 
located in a special Flash memory, which size is 128Kb and at 
any time can be reprogrammed by a special program without 
removing from the board. Management is carried out through one 
port. When you install the corresponding bit in the port main 
ROM is disabled and instead connects Flash BIOS. In general, 
this project is still in its early stages, so I expect you, 
dear users ZX-Spectrum'a, do not leave this project without 
attention and offer their ideas.
