ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

From Sergei Novikov To All 2 February 1998

Hi there!──────────────────────────────────

Everyone has read the article “Save Our Project Speccy" in Hallu... In short, in GlukoOpera? ;)
(I have nothing against the demo, rather the opposite, but the name is hard to pronounce).
For those who haven’t read it, press the space bar after the start of the demo.

So, what do you think about the subject?

Imho, the train left a long time ago, but you can implement something less complex and more
real. In a nutshell:

The conversation was about creating a normal distribution network, where
the distribution of Spectrum software would be handled by a large company like Inforcom,
which would pay well for the author's work and distribute programs by mail. I suggest sending programs not by regular mail, but by e-mail. Many have Fido/Inet/ZXNet. The fact is that I personally, for example, cannot be forced to go to the post office to issue a postal order, or, just because of a couple of games, to go to the other end of the city to the radio market. Instead, as an alternative, one can propose to transfer only once every one/several months a certain “membership fee” (say 10 thousand/month), and in return, for the whole month, promptly receive news from
the whole country. If there are many such people willing, say 1000 people across the country, then, firstly, in many regions where, despite the best wishes of users, it was impossible
to get author's, branded software, such a thing will appearopportunity, secondly,
1000*10000=10 million per month is enough not only to pay well for the work of
game makers, but even to slightly support releasers, etc. How does this all happen: those users who have paid to receive programs for a given month are sent programs by email. The programs will be provided by the authors themselves, and in the shortest possible time, because... it will be beneficial for them. Plus, releasers will provide new news from the Internet, restaurateurs will provide restored versions of old programs, etc. All this will, again, be sent out in a short time to users who have paid the “membership fee”. The money received from users goes to
authors/restaurants/releasers, etc. in an amount proportional to the labor expended and the quality of the program. Those. some kind of "Black Raven-5" is coming out. The author
requests a certain amount from the company/etc. that distributes software according to the above
scheme. For example, 20 million. Again, many users are too lazy to go to the post office, but here, having sent the transfer 3 months in advance, you can no longer appear at the post office, all this time receiving fresh software. So, if this game is very good, the company agrees to the conditions proposed by the author, the author is allocated, say, 80% of the collected amount this month, and more in the following months. Until
the amount requested by the author has been paid.

Naturally, to spreadThere will also be Western novelties (you can start the experiment with them). Releasers now often receive nothing from their release, therefore they will only be interested in the fact that their versions will be distributed throughout the country. But some amounts (for beer :) can be transferred to them.
Accordingly, magazines, newspapers, etc. will generate some kind of income.
(Naturally, the author can refuse the remuneration).

Now about how to interest people in joining the Spectrum support association (i.e., pay membership fees in exchange for fresh software). After all, it may
turn out that one person per group or even a city will receive the software,
who will distribute it to others. First of all, the contribution amount should be
small (10 thousand = 2 bottles of beer per month!), i.e. everyone can well
pay it. Secondly, there must be a system of sanctions: it is necessary to maintain lists of members of the association, and everyone who has not joined the association and, accordingly, does not want to support Spectrum, must feel that he is wrong: his works will not be accepted at demo-parties, his letters will not be published in magazines that the association distributes, even in Fido his opinion will be taken into account less - after all, he did not want to support Spectrum. Greetings will not be conveyed to him in
releases distributed by the association, etc. And why not pay 10
thousand in exchange for access to everythingfresh software?

In short, what’s the idea? Is there a chance?

With God's blessing, Sergei Novikov aka Spirit^dR^sNG

From Sergei Novikov To All 3 February 1998

AG> The idea is not bad,

I left the name from the demo, although it was talking about something completely different >:)

AG> But who, where and how will organize this project?

It’s not very difficult to implement, if only there are enough people willing to get everything
new for pennies ;) First, we make a list of those who want it, throw it into the echo, etc.
etc. - it is now clear who pays contributions and who does not. The software organization undertakes
distribution, paying remuneration to the authors, so the authors will be extremely
interested in transferring all rights to the program to the association as soon as possible (imagine another game with the signature: "Code by Dmitry "Oldman" Grigoryev (
;) for example), gfx by Anton "TeeRay" Markin, music by Igor "Igoval" Shepelev.
Written by Megastar Creative Group. (c)1999 _SOS Association_." ;)) So,
the authors contact the association, it transfers the reward to them, and the program
is sent by e-mail to the members of the association. 2-3 people in one single city
can manage all
activities and receive transfers (preferably in St. Petersburg, because there are the most sinclairists there, so that they do not
pay extra 10% for a postal transfer), or they can receive the software “hand to hand”.

And then they transfer the program to the hubs, those to the nodes, etc. So I thought that I could go directly to the file echo to speed up the process and relieve the network load. And those who don'thaving paid
the fee, they will receive free software for the fee; they will pay for it themselves: the association will not receive money from
them anyway, but these individuals will be booed in every possible way wherever
possible. They will not be mentioned in software distributed by the association, and their work will not be allowed at the annual demo parties. Anyone who once stops
paying the membership fee ends up on the “black list” and will no longer be able
to use the services of the association. So there won't be any
misunderstandings, because lists of association members will be sent out by echo
regularly. In short, to accomplish all this, 2-3 people in one city will be enough, who will receive a symbolic salary “for being harmful” ;) - 200 thousand. (!?)

From Alex Letaev To All 3 February 1998

Great idea, it might work. Perhaps we can start with general statistics on whether end users agree to such a project. Statistics will show the percentage and adjust the conditions. You need something like a
questionnaire.

Sincerely, Alex from FFC COMPUTERS.

Booing them is not enough, among such “not quite comrades” there will be those who
will distribute the software further, earning money for themselves, so
it is better to distribute the software not according to fae (especially that many people don’t have it, for example,
me), and send soap according to the scheme one - three (or more), i.e. one comrade sends it to three others “assigned” to him, who in turn send the software further, i.e. it turns out to be a kind of SOS-Net :)

From Sergei Novikov To All 4 February 1998

AS> Collect 60 old lemons from 1000 people half a year in advance,

;)) You don’t have to hand them over six months in advance. And, besides, these 60 thousand per person will more than pay for themselves in six months. Not to mention the fact that they will go to the authors of progs, and with their help they will write new programs, that is, ultimately they will return to the Sinclairists again. There will be an opportunity to finance major projects: what is
$3000, for example, for ZH-2? The program needs to be done for more than one month, and the association will scrape together the required 18 lemons in less than 2 months. Those. and the authors will be
satisfied, and they will make new programs, while taking care of quality
(so that they will pay more), and users will get instant access to everything new for
pennies and support Spectrum, and those who previously simply had nowhere to buy
licensed software in their region will stop financing pirates, and will become
authors. Well, and finally, the most important thing: we will find out how many conscious, real spektrumists there are in the country at the moment. The software, I repeat, can be sent
directly via filehay, which reaches many regions, to the delight of those who
will not pay. But they will punish themselves: they will never appear again in newspapers, magazines, or anywhere. For Spectrum they will simply cease
to exist.

AS> and even with such incentives as you propose? ;) - methods of the White
AS> brotherhood, IMHO.

And whatBadly? If you don’t want to support Spectrum with a penny, don’t be offended...
This is the only way to attract a large number of people to your side, and
therefore adequately pay for the work of the software authors.

PS: IMHO, Viator would support me ;)

From Sergei Novikov To All 4 February 1998

AG> Here you can argue, but if, for example, a person has financial problems in the current month
AG>;) Don’t have 10 thousand? ;) How can you live like this? In Moscow, public transport costs
2000. Five trips.

AG> or he got sick

Let him rent it out a month in advance. In general, he hasn't been sick for a whole month; he always finds time. And if something like this happens, it will always be possible to inform by e-mail, again, by mail, to the “headquarters” of the association, where they will make a decision about whether the person who has not paid is telling the truth or not. In general, if a person is a week late, but is ready to pay for this month, of course it’s not his fault, the software will be sent to him.

AG> or something else, then why exclude him? My proposal: if you haven’t paid
AG> now, pay two installments next month.

That is. when reconnecting to the association, pay for all the missed months?
But in this case, the person will have to send the software that he did not receive during
this time, and this will be a strain on the network.

And then, it will be difficult to send files to yue, because the volume of yue sections
sent by one feed node per day is limited to 100K (at least in
Moscow). So you will either have to limit yourself to a file echo, or agree that
each node receiving yue sections sends them along the chain to another node...
In short, in addition to other positive results, SOS alsowill serve as a reason for
more active promotion of files and for an increase in the number of Sinclairists included in the ZX network! After all, you will need to receive the software via modem. Of course,
by registering, you can receive software from a friend who is a modem operator, but in this case
there will be some delay in receiving the software.

And, finally, you can throw all the software into the echo (this one or a specially created one for
this), in yay. After all, the volume of what is thrown into the echo is not limited! And the echo goes further than the file. And ZX network coordinators will take files directly from the echo.

An interesting idea, but several questions arise:
1) How are income distributed between network software providers, if
the membership fee covers all commercial projects;
2) Why should I, to an ordinary user, pay 10 thousand rubles. for a product that I
can then receive for free;

In addition, your idea will have to be promoted. There are no receipts from
users -> no programs from authors. There are no programs from authors -> no
receipts from users. To break this vicious circle, it is necessary either
period"work on enthusiasm", quite long, or a solid initial
investment.

EM> Complete nonsense! Utopia. Again, only a few will pay, and the rest will receive
EM> everything for free!

Well, yes, traders, of course, should worry, because they may simply begin to buy
even less. But... IMHO, there will always be some niches that can be occupied. First of all, not everyone has modems. In addition, not everywhere
there are ZX networks.

But about utopia... Firstly, not only a few will pay, because... For normal
work of the association, at least 500 of its members are needed. And this is already enough to
pay the work of authors better than what is happening now. As for the rest, the freeloaders, there is nothing to worry about. First of all, I hope there will be a lot of decent people who
will find 10 thousand a month, more than 1/4 in the country, and therefore
more than 1000. This is enough not to think about freeloaders. And the freeloaders
will punish themselves: they will be forced to soon leave the Spectrum (since
in complete isolation, if they are completely ignored, only a gamer can survive), or
start paying. Benefits from freeloaders who cannot give 10 thousand for the benefit of Spectrum (in fact, transfer this money to the authors) and get access to all the software for this, and now none. Because and now they don’t spend a penny on
purchasing licensed software. But when they begin to be ignored both in grittings and in the computer media, when it is simply impossiblewill somehow show themselves and
become famous, they will be forced to either go to hell, or join an
association, or remain gamers for the rest of their lives and work “for the table”.

From Sergei Novikov To All 5 February 1998

SN>> (let's say 10 thousand/month), and in return, throughout the month, promptly receive new
SN>> from all over the country.

AM> An interesting idea, but several questions arise:
AM> 1) How are incomes distributed between suppliers of network software, if
AM> the membership fee covers all commercial projects;

All the money goes to the authors of the distributed software. Money unused in a given month is transferred to the next month (after all, the amount of software released is different every month). If every month there is more and more money left,
and nothing big or expensive is foreseen, you can lower the membership fee.
However, will it do any harm?

AM> 2) Why should I, an ordinary user, pay 10 tr. for a product
AM> which I can then receive for free;

That’s the point, then. Most articles in newspapers and magazines, for example, very quickly lose relevance. Well, then, a real Spectrumist who wants to support Spectrum will pay this small amount to the authors. Those who do not want to support the authors of the software will also receive the software, but their work will not be distributed by the association, no one will see their names in the distributed software, they will not be able to do anything noticeable on the Spectrum.
If this suits them, then let them continue to receive the software for free. But for the
_most_ Sinclairites, I think it'snot acceptable, you just have to look at
the number of dems, newspapers and releases released to show yourself,
to assert yourself, to get into greetings.

AM> 3) Moreover, there are few large commercial projects now, IMHO,
AM>;

This is where the subject will help. Remember how many cool projects have been frozen because... there is no
incentive to complete them. It is now very difficult to earn normal money on the Spectrum. It is for this reason that Voxon/ex-Flash, for example, moved to PC. (²MB:
Have you messed up anything?) Promise now $1000 for a new cool domestic game -
I’m sure there will be more than one contender for this amount. The subject, in theory, should cause
a revival of Spectrum activity and a surge in game making.

AM> 4) won’t it cost the average Spectrum player a little too much for his
AM> consciousness?

I think that now the majority of Sinclairists are real Spectrum fans, ready
both morally and financially to support their favorite computer. All the others have long ago given up and are now playing Quake 2.

AM> If not everyone buys the same “project of the year” ChV for 35 tr. waiting
AM> for the broken version, how many will agree to give 10 thousand rubles? _monthly_?

I think there will be more than 1000 conscious people (this is what needs to be checked using a
survey), and that will be enough. If there are 2000 of them, membership fees will be 2 times
less, just think! Well, about the ChV: firstly, for the yearyou will receive more than one CV. But
besides everything else, all the cool magazines (!), demos, music and graphics from Fantop,
and all this is almost instantaneous (by today's standards ;) How long are we
waiting for software from Inlight? ;)). Secondly, many people don’t take CV because they don’t know
how to get it (especially in the regions, not everyone reads the echo!), and because they’re too lazy to go to the post office (I’ve already talked about this). Here you rent out 30 pieces in 3 months and
HANG ON!

AM> Two bottles of beer, however! :)))

Well, why can’t we do without these 2 bottles? Moreover, it is harmful ;)

And of course, money will come from Donetsk from five to six people, including

And the remaining 500-600 will continue to receive everything for nothing (depending on how you look at it, however, the merchants will profit even more), and they don’t care about recognition and greetings (ugh!), they don’t see them anyway. So, you personally, who will you say hi to in Donetsk? Yeah, I live here and I know at most a couple of dozen people to whom I can say hello (with a lot of pressure). And the rest of us are going to give a damn about this whole undertaking. Or will you conduct a population census and distribute a newspaper with greetings on a hundred disks? Those who at least do something, they pay regularly when there is someone to do it. First of all, the members of various creative groups
acquired CVs from us.

I agree, it’s possible to distribute it among the elite, sort of like your own. But no

Yes, you can pay, but for a quality product, and not for a “pig in a poke”,
so, at least, you need to introduce consumers to a demo version of the product, and consumers themselves must choose what they need (since we are moving to a commercial track). For example, yesterday I watched WORMS_DM (apparently only
Pentagon128!), after the introductory information - intros, in the field with worms
the graphics are not unpacked, a complete mess on the screen, and what, should I pay money
for this, I would not buy such products, but having paid money in advance - I will have no way out
I will receive it is not clear what? Either programmers need to somehow
adhere to normal and correct coding, like Vyacheslav Mednonogov,
Dmitry and others, or the organizers of the SOS project need to more strictly weed out the software
that goes for sale, otherwise not everyone will be happy.

P.S. If a charter is not needed, then rules are definitely needed!

We need to deal with traders as a whole!!! To do this, they must be certified.
Those who are not in the Mednonogovsky FAQ must be declared “wild” and everyone
who identifies them is obliged to us to “put them here”! For their own good!
You can keep in touch with them by regular mail. If they respond and
play “by the rules” - everything will be ok. If not, we classify them as PIRATES and apply sanctions. For example ANTIGREETINGS, i.e. like..."and now we express
our contempt for the pirated distribution of software and the destruction of
Spectrum." Next, each of the traders declares their approximate “class”.
Just as there were merchants of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd guilds, our traders can evaluate their turnover
and their clientele. And then everything is simple: for their honesty they will receive a reward
(in the form of money! :) ).
The higher the trader's guild, the greater the discount he will receive on the purchased
product.
For example:
a single buyer will transfer an advance in the amount of 75%, i.e. for example
if the price for ChV-3 is announced at $8 per copy, then it is necessary to transfer
to Slavin's account $6, and for the trader of 1 guild - only $3 (per copy), 2-$4 (per copy),
3-$5 (per copy).
Those who will buy AFTER the product is released will receive THIS PRODUCT
respectively for: $8(6), $5(3), $6(4), $7(5) for 1 copy.
I.e. ordinary buyers shouldtransfer to Slava an advance of $6, each trader
1 guild no less than $300, the second no less than $80, the third no less than $15
How much will they transfer for so many copies and receive a license!
(For fraudulent traders, they should be expelled from the guilds and prohibited
from distributing (selling) software. users
simply driven with a “filthy broom” from the civilized world of Spectrum.
In a word, honest people should have tangible benefits from their honesty.)
THIS IS THIS WILL BE AN INCENTIVE TO ADVANCE THE WORK OF AUTHORS! Rubles!!!
The guild is assigned according to several parameters:
1) the number of copies purchased is 1- 100 or more, 2- 20-99, 3- 3-19.
2) traders of the 1st and 2nd guilds must keep a Spectrum or
emulator at the point of sale (on which the sold product runs without glitches);
3) traders of the 1st guild must know Spectrum thoroughly yourself or have
such a person with you;
Everything that concerns traders is so, in general terms. Write comments,
complement, put forward your ideas.

The idea is good, I liked it, but here’s an example situation: A certain trader, trading
in the market with speck software, pays 100 rubles per day for a ticket for the right to trade. new. How many sets per day does he need to sell CV, if
the cost of purchasing one copy is about 30 rubles? We sell for 40 rubles, ten sets need to be sold just to recoup the place of sale, another 10 rubles. for food at a minimum, then profit will go at your discretion. You need to trade two days off a week, and accordingly you need to sell 22
sets a week just to recoup the trade. Depending on the location of the retail location, this may not be realistic. And then somewhere
you need to transfer money. It's a rare person who agrees to work without actually making a profit.

As I say, completely different approaches! They cannot be compared! In my version
money is paid for _all_ new good software. How, for example, do they buy newspapers from you, huh? ;) And you keep judging CHV - an exceptional game of its kind. Such games-
one per year. I have a completely different formula. Here the money accumulates gradually, and the CV
obviously will not pay off. HO! That's what the rest of the warez is for! All sorts of demos and releases
contribute to the gradual accumulation of money, so that in the end the money for the
global project is paid to the author, despite the fact that his game for the association does not
pay off. But it pays off for the author! He gets decent money and can
start a new game. Your “project” will not really yield anything. Waste of time.

SN>> Afendikov ;) Spark, Miracle max.

EM> who bought one copy for everyone (at least it’s good that they don’t break it, like
EM> one little group, which by the way lives in the echo!).

Which one? I haven’t seen it here.

EM> Well, you’ve lost it, usually it’s these
EM> “freeloaders” who go to pirates to buy programs; by the way, they pay money.

Well, to hell with them. Let them pay. They don't exist for us. We don’t know and we don’t want to know.

EM> But not that :(

And pirates will die out over time. When freeloaders dump on the PC. As was the case in
Moscow.

EM> And the more

money. So why waste time on them?

SN>> What does that have to do with ignoring freeloaders and that’s all.
SN>> Let it be. use programs, play games. But we just won’t think about them
SN>>, we’ll forget.

EM> And we, being so good, have we bought many copies of CV from Slava? Will this be enough
EM> for him?

The money is paid from the _fund_ of the association, and not from the fees for this program!
A fundamental difference.

EM>>> Those who do something at least they do, they pay regularly when there is
EM>>> to whom we have the first.in fact, members of various creative groups
EM>>> purchased.

SN>> Do you think there are not 1000 people like this in the country? No, if the idea
SN>> is supported in the media, writing prog on the Spectrum and other “making”
SN>> will begin to generate income.

EM> Did Slava get $3600 from these 1000 people for the CV? I mean, if
EM> everyone bought $3.60? Glory, _ay_!

Why should everyone buy CV? Some, for example, simply don’t like games.
Others use emulators.

From Alex Letaev To All 11 February 1998

Rather, it’s a little different, they want to pay as little as possible, regardless
of who sells the software, a pirate or not. It’s just that software from a pirate usually always
may turn out to be cheaper, which will push demand to increase from pirates and
to decrease from official traders.

From Eugene Malkov To All 11 February 1998

If SOS is similar to Amazing, then Spectrum is definitely screwed...
Frivolous people in this very Amazing, and especially this hacker, show up

But from your idea there will be no such contribution - you will ignore those
who usually pay money.
I’m telling you - we really forced all users to pay money to the _authors_,
for this we just need a network of traders. The more traders there are, the lower the cost of the product for them. If the quantity is large enough, prices will be lower than those of pirates. For example, we sell almost everything at a price lower than that of the leftists
any disc, and these are licensed! As a result, the market is ours and payback is a matter of time. But by Donetsk standards, the CV is a bit expensive - but there is a monopoly here, and
such toys only come around once a year!

Why don’t wild traders buy software from the authors?
a) the authors don’t offer them personally;
b) from hackers it’s four times cheaper.

It’s worth making a list of all traders in general and offering them programs
cheaper - everything will be ok! There are 10 times more illegal traders than legal ones,
the author's profit is more than twice as much as if he sells at a high price to a select few.

From Alexander Degtyaryov To All 11 February 1998

Hi, people!!!

I read the controversy about the SOS project and decided to express my
point of view on this project.
In some ways, this project reminds me of the “projects” that appeared from time to time. Their essence boiled down to the fact that you need to transfer a certain amount to the address indicated in the first
line of some list, and after some time in response you receive an amount tens, or even hundreds of times greater than the amount you sent.
Someone is in trouble. go to the post office in order to issue a postcard (although
in order to transfer the same 10 thousand, you need to visit the same post office
), someone should go to the market (and if there is no connection with
the FIDO network or with any ....net, then you still need to go somewhere
at least for software), or others reasons.
But think for yourself what will happen to SPECCY if, God forbid, a deception occurs (and from the press you can learn that even
those who guard the laws are deceived). After all, then only the fans will definitely remain at SPECCY, and even those won’t last long without the support of the masses.
Why such thoughts? Many, if not all, know Mednonogov, Zonov, Radionov, Larchenko (sorry if I got the last names wrong somewhere, but I think many people know who I’m talking about), Alex Ivanov (organizer and coordinator of the ZXNet network), Bulchukei (organizer FANTOP-98), and if such thoughtsthey said, then I
would vote for it.
By the way, on Relkom an echo on SPECTRUM was organized, and
as far as I know, this is a commercial network, which means that fans of this computer need to pay for the use of this echo...
And one more note. They will distribute the latest software to "members of the association of children of Lieutenant Schmidt." That's good. But what about someone who just bought it or was given it as a gift, or in some other way
became the owner of a Spectrum? Will they give him a “membership” card along with his computer??? What if I don’t need adventure games, but need some system programs? Those. I don't need all the software, just something fresh from IS-DOSa and nothing else. What to do in this case? And I don’t care at all whether I will be mentioned in some demos, gifts and the like? I'm an ordinary user, I play games, use some system programs and that's it. And in this case, it’s easier for me to go to some specialized place once every couple of months and pick up the software that I need, rather than go to the post office every month and send even 10 thousand rubles or 10 current rubles for who knows what. And if the software is given only to “members”, then you will have to leave this platform.
I’m probably not alone in this opinion.

With deep respect, Alexander (CURIOUS).

By the way, the subzha also has a drawback - how to transfer money? If via

Or through some bank :-? Then why will the entire organizational leadership be needed? Each author creates an account for himself, throws his program/game into the account
(indicating the account number) and waits until money is added to it (we get shareware
:). It seems that N. Shalaev has been doing this for a long time...
Or, developing the idea of SN, each author opens an account and begins collecting funds

DK> I, the order just came

Well, you see, who knew :) I give you [*].

"Support for authors" is a very slippery question. And if a person does not want
to support _all_ authors (for example, he absolutely does not need such
meaningless things as demos) but only those authors who write the things he needs?
What then?

SN> And the software - as a gift. But if you don’t want to pay, the association
SN> will survive,

One, two - yes.
And if 95% don’t want to, it won’t survive.

SN> but Spectrum is unlikely to hear about you (at least
SN> from the association software). [Do not apply the last phrase to yourself personally].

That is, if we discard the “extra” words :), you pay only for what
is written about you in greetings (demos, pictures) and that’s all? Not a lot :(

(does anyone even read these grittings?)

SN> All normal software. However, after the first months

Yeah. Only in the first months the association will have to work hard, and only on enthusiasm. And if there were sponsors, so that they would give money in advance, for a fairly long period - then great!

All the best.
With respect, Roman Milukov.

...newspapers, magazines. They will let you in for the annual demo party, etc. Thus, every
normal Sinclairist must pay. If you are not like that, get everything for free, but you won’t become normal. If someone likes being “abnormal”
:), who will be ignored everywhere - please.

TY> (and does anyone even read these grittings?)

Everyone who wants to appear in them.

Does she refer to us? I’m very glad that you admitted that “the good of the spectrum”
will be determined by a couple of people, and the programs of everyone who disagrees with them
will be clamped down. Will there be “anti-grittings” in the grittings?

Hello Sergei !

Saturday February 14 1998 14:07, Sergei Novikov ─── Alexey Mednonogov:

SN> Another way out: members of the association send money to support the authors.
To your bank account ?
SN> And as a thank you, the association sends them software _for free_.

From Evgeny Milun To All 17 February 1998

TY> You should still be kidding :)
What else is left to do? “I’m in a hurry to laugh before I have to burst into tears” (C) P. Augustin.

TY> But it would be interesting to listen to AS’s (serious) opinion. Or is there nothing
TY> to say?
Like nothing? There is something. He is already describing with all his might how cool life will be for the authors under the “new order”. But for some reason I just don’t like this order “as an author,” and even more so “as a user.”

Get Msg, Eugene!

EM> except for the pre-release Z-eXe, which was also sneezed at. Or are you talking about someone else?

Al Koval asked to clarify that Arty

Warm greetings, Slava!

Yeah, and then he persuaded them to continue, we know.
And Arty pulled them from the Spectrum to the PC too? You should listen to how they now speak about spec... The ears are withering.

Hasta la vista.
