Hello All

ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

Hello comrade All!

I decided to sign up for the conference again, although I was going to throw
Spectrum out of my head, but unfortunately this is impossible. A person who started at
Speccy can be done with the help of violence or a bribe to get him to sit behind a PC or another machine, but
He will never forget the Spectrum.
Some of you probably remember me from a large market under the terrible
name SuperSpectrum, which I launched a few months ago, don't
be afraid, I won't start it again (although it would be worth it). Before leaving the echo, I
threw information about the (so-called) pseudo-parallel processes on Speccy, and the
possibility of coloring old games without changing the executable code, although I didn’t receive a single response to this
article, but that’s up to you (if anyone is interested
in the topic, then most likely an article about it will be published in the next issue of
Spectrum-Progress).
And now about the main thing. I would like to know your opinion about the computer
"SPRINTER" and Mr. GMX board Zonova.
I recently called the Peters company and spoke with director Nikolai Noskov,
who told me that the Sprinter would cost about 990 thousand rubles, it seemed to me a little too big, for a computer that does not have software, butI would like
to find out from people who deal with Specky professionally whether the
Sprinter is profitable and whether it will be in demand.
Well, that's all for now.
Sincerely yours Igor

It already has all the software from Speccy. They promised compatibility.

The idea was quite fresh.

Disadvantages:
a) reading from the screen area is undesirable
b) some difficulties with loading graphics (by the way, someone has to
draw these graphics)
c) further expansion of graphic capabilities is almost impossible
(in fact, every color bit in a pixel requires another Spetrum -
in the proposed version there are already three Spectrums at the same time)

Advantages:
a) ease of implementation (although simple does not mean cheap :)
b) no decrease in performance
c) almost 100% compatibility with the spec (and if you add some kind of button
off - then it’s 100%)
d) to be honest, coloring the game is also relative simple.

However:

IM> find out your opinion about the SPRINTER computer and Mr. GMX board

Approximately, as you once said, “who needs Sprinter/GMX” - all this
can be fully attributed to your development(well, it doesn’t compare
with them in terms of graphics, etc. -> where were you before)

Warm greetings, Slava!
