Hi All!
There are programs on the Spectrum that allow you to broadcast (distill)
individual files from MS-DOS to TR-DOS and vice versa.
Please give me such a program/programs. Very necessary!!!

It seemed to me that the question concerned programs on the Spectrum, and not on the PC.
If this is so, then the easiest way is to use the basic IS-DOS kit, namely
programs from_msd.com, to_msdos.com, from_trd.com and to_trdos.com.
Programs from the proprietary ZX WORD package work somewhat worse
(especially when writing to an IBM disk, then it is not always possible to read on a PC,
it seems there is an error in the FAT recording), in addition, they cut the file into 26K pieces.
Other programs,I don’t know anyone capable of making SUBJ competently.
If you need to distill text files, then IS-DOS is better, then it’s more convenient to work with these texts.
With best wishes,
Vadim

I agree, this is the way out. But what if you need to _write_ to disk? And not to an existing file, but to create a new one? It’s another matter if in the hobet file you store
information about the spec disk on which it is “recorded” :) Then .$* can
be stored in the heap in one directory, but what if one file, for example, boot.$b
lies on several disks at once... :-/
Oh! IDEA! What if you make a floppy disk descriptor file, which stores links
to hobet files and information from the 8th sector of the Trdos directory? And throw all the hobets into one heap somewhere! This results in double savings! Those. In addition
to the absence of huge disk images, multiple disk descriptors can refer
to the same file. Instead of keeping 10 boots for 10 floppy disks, just one is enough! But if these boots are different... And again, a problem arises with
backup: when changingof a file on one floppy disk, all its copies
on others are immediately changed, and when changing the file size, you can “ruin” the “disk”...unless
keep them in different directories... But, IMHO, you can come up with something here, that’s a
another question ;)

There is something in the idea, but you are mistaken when you think that
three hundred small files will take up less space than six large ones.
As is known in MS-DOS, files are stored in clusters of 4,8,16,32 KB.
If your screw partition is more than a gigabyte, then any file less than
32Kb will take up 32KB, and a file with a length of 32Kb+1b will take up
64Kb. That is, 20 files, one byte eachwill take the place of one image
TRD (640Kb), when in this image the same files will take only 5 Kb.
