From Roman Petrov → To All 25 April 1997
Hello! Dear Denis!
At 00:58, Thursday April 24 1997, it was such a thing that
Denis Markelov dashed off a letter All:
DM> Contrary to rumors spread by some personalities from Moscow and
DM> Kharkov, St. Petersburg Mortal is very much alive, and the light at the end
DM> of the tunnel is already visible (unless it is train :). As proof, I'm sending an echo to
DM
Well, I looked. And he remained of the same opinion about it as before:
Everything about you is of course cool (especially the colored faces of the fighters), but you forgot
about the most important thing in games of this type: playability. With such “smoothness”
there can be no talk of full-fledged battles like in the original Mortal.
If I have the opportunity to choose between yours and another version
(the one with small figures. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the authors),
then I will undoubtedly choose not yours (even if yours is cheaper). I am writing
this as a very experienced fighter in MK-2, MK-3.
With respect, Roman.

Greetings, Denis!
Eh, well, people just can’t settle on the golden mean. Some make the player figures so that they can take a microscope with them. This is a stone in the garden of the Kharkov mortal. Others make half-screen figures, although this results in terrible lag and an extremely limited number of sprites. There is no way to do it like in the same RENEGADE, only a little more.
But, in fairness, the full version of the Kharkov mortal leaves a very
good impression. Although the figures are small, there is a lot of movement, like 128
sprites for each - the whole memory is full of sprites. Because of this, poor Shang-Tsung
doesn't turn into anyone :). And a lot of Animality and Friendship. By the way, I can upload a list of combinations for them, as well as codes for calling secret fighters. Now
I only remember WARAN - it makes a reptile (like typing during the screensaver).
A friend has the rest written down on a piece of paper. If necessary, we'll ask for it.
We also added screensavers and a demo with digitized photos from the film (seemingly). And the heads of the creators turn cool, in the sense of the heads of the creators - it looks very nice. Oh, if only there were bigger figures... (see above)
Of course it doesn’t work on the emulator - protection.
And it’s cool to run St. Petersburg mortal on the emulator in maximum speed mode - such a
live game turns out, it’s more difficult to win than on the original, however;)
It's time to say goodbye, Denis.
... Turn it out, smart Igren!
