Why? On speccy we have the native AY chip - we'll listen and write on it.
For digital things, take Amiga/PC, because it's more difficult to write a good chip than
mod! The Spectrum is not intended for hoarse 4-channel music (GS doesn’t count,
because it’s not a Spectrum at all, you can get mod on the Amig)...
When will we finally begin to understand and appreciate what we have?
When will we stop creating all kinds of accelerators and connecting new processors?
Who are we trying to keep up with?
We have our own machine, the one and only?

Wow! Absolutely correct thoughts! Although I feel that this will be a reason for some of my comrades to start a flame, I will still say:
We don’t need a fancy Spectrum, some monster trying to become like 32-bit machines on its 8-bit processor! Well, you understand
finally - there is a de facto standard, developed over the years - this is Spectrum 128
+ disk drive + AY! All! And there is no place for any bells and whistles here! This machinebeautiful
precisely in this configuration, now, alas, it no longer represents anything on the computer market, so there is no need to try to push it there,
Nobody needs it THERE, it is needed HERE, in the world of the Spectrum! Look at the C64!
This car is still alive because the stage is alive on it! So let's
make Speccy a true stage computer, one of a kind
and therefore beautiful!
PS: Just don't stoop to insanity and shout about the Spectrum48+tape recorder!

By the way, using the example of BKshechnikov, although they are dying out, they still don’t

By the way, maybe someone is afraid of simply being left behind because of the coolness of digital music? So don’t be shy about saying so and don’t bother hiding behind crazy ideas! (I apologize for the rudeness, but it just infuriates you when you read such nonsense

Spectrum is Spectrum, if you write cool music on non-standard

take into account the hardware requirements for different authors. Kovox, in any case, is not
standard equipment.

Why did everyone decide that the Pentagon is standard equipment?
To be precise, the component should be carried out on a real SPEC, and not
on its clone... Or is it simply because the Pentagon is more widespread? Almost everyone has Covox, only outspoken lamers who don’t care about anything don’t have it, or ostriches who scream
that SPEC doesn’t need to develop and that it needs to slow down at the level of 1992...
Sorry, but this is just nonsense! Time passes and SPEC also does not stand still, new bells and whistles appear and they also need to be taken into account
and not shout that this is not SPEC but PC (which is just a rotten market...)
Therefore, I think that changes need to be made to the rules!
In my opinion, the standard SPEC is SPEC+KOVOX or GS, which
by the way is preferable, since it allows emulation kovox...

AH> Answer me, A???
I’ll try to answer.
1. The point of view of ordinary users. Since I myself am not one, perhaps
erroneous.
First of all, these are increased requirements for the quality of games among the majority
users. At the same time, the focus is not only on PC, but also on various
PlayStation etc. For example, after a month of playing Warcraft II, having launched the first one, I
erased it, never to return to it again. A beautifully designed game always sells better. Better buys -> more income for the manufacturer ->
more games are released -> more of them are bought [loop]
Next, new software packages like the same office '97 have appeared. Some comrades shouting that “but your programs are getting bigger and require more and more expensive hardware” (for some reason, the favorite phrase of the Amizhniks is -envy?),
they forget that the size of programs and hardware requirements are increasing precisely because
increasing program capabilities. Compare 3D Studio 4.0 and 3DS Max, Photoshop
2.5 and 4.0, Corel Draw 2.5 and 7.0, Borland/Turbo C 2.0 and 5.0
Naturally, the percentage of glitches in all programs is approximately the same and
accordingly, with increasing functionality in general, the number of glitches usually
increases. Is it possible, say, to work normally with 3D Studio 4.0,
Finereader, Stylus and other modern products on 386DX40-2RAM? No, although
it will all work there.
Next, the so-called. "multimedia" capabilities - mainly watching
video discs (MPEG2) and recently popular compressed
music such as the entire Jean-Michel Jarre on one CD, which requires a sufficiently
powerful CPU/Video or additional. decoder boards.
2. Programmer's point of view (mine).
Speed. The main thing for now. For me, the difference in a complete recompilation of the project between 30 minutes (486DX100-16) and 6.5 minutes (P200-64) was very significant and without a doubt was worth the money paid for the upgrade. I also really like it when
the payment is billed in an hour and you don’t have to leave the computer running for a day. I want, having driven a fairly complex circuit into the circuit emulator, to see the readings of virtual
instruments immediately, and not go away to drink coffee for five minutes. There is a difference - waitday
or 8 hours when rendering a video in 3DS Max and leave Unix to recompile
kernel overnight or go to the bar for an hour. There is a difference - using 2048-bit (P233) or 256 (486DX133) keys in a project and the zip archive breaks in an hour or a week.
There is a difference - listening to music on a PC Speaker (suxx) or on Gravis Ultrasound Max.
There is a difference - whether typing this same music on the keyboard or playing on a
keyboardist connected to the MIDI port.
B in general, it’s clear. You can leave the computer as it is. And it will be
doomed to extinction - due to the lack of an influx of new users. If you
want the computer to develop, increasing its capabilities (for money,
of course) is inevitable. So far I have not seen a single project that can
attract new users to the Spectrum machine, except for the project of Andrey Savichev,
but I have serious doubts about its development.
P.S. Of course, you can throw away all the computers and sit and count on the accounts. And who will we
make worse?

In our country, real specks are completely absent. Pentagons, pros and
scorpions are everywhere. But there is no Covox not because it’s lame or doesn’t give a damn, but because it’s not needed, just like digital compo on FT. The past two Enlights have proven this. Who needs this hoarseness, which is not requiredspecial

Well, let me disagree about the rest!...
That’s right, if you just kicked the instruments and arranged the notes, then
of course it will turn out to be crap, but there are people who write with knowledge of the matter, why not give them a chance to prove themselves?
Or if you don’t like Kovoks, then why not make a

where and there you won’t get wheezing and the music is just great!!!
Or will you say that GS is also crap?
Or something like that not everyone has it?
Well, buy it and create, or do you feel sorry for the money for the thing? We say that we will somehow sit on the earpiece, and those who oppose us, we will press him and that's it...
And as for the twitchy instruments... M-M-M-M-mm-mm-mm-mm...

Yes, no progress. At least in the hardware area. For example, during an interruption
on BC you can only skip about 1/4 - 1/3 of the screen...
You can simply forget about normal, non-braking graphics...
And what demos are there on BC! It's just that everything is completely ripped off from ZX!!! And if the effect works at half the speed on the Spectrum, then this is considered so cool! At the last
BC Mania, I saw a demo in which many of the effects were pulled from the
Influence by Progress demo.
Don't let bookmaker players be offended by me, but it's true :(

from coders to ordinary users, do not recognize
DIGITAL music on AY.
PS. Is it really so difficult to get resistors drunk?
Sorry, we brought fresh beer...

Without half a liter it won’t work.

He is. So do I.

Well, why do it all at once... I’m tired of giving arguments - you don’t understand...
But most of us don’t like digital either on ay or on covox. And they
all have covox. Maybe we have water like that in Voronezh :)

Yes - in this our spektrumists are similar.
GK> PS. Is it really so difficult to get the resistors to work on a microcosm?
Well, that’s not what I like about spec... I like asm, demos, music on ay,
cool unique games...

What for? We have General Sound (although there are hardly more of them than covoks :)

introduce it!

AB> A.... What's this like? They don’t want to do it?
No, not everyone knows. For example, I didn’t notice that anyone in the echo was saying how to make “covox” on Speccy. Hence the conclusion - it would be necessary to throw the circuit into the echo...
For example, I have no idea where to hang it, and how similar it is to PeTseshny
kovoks.

So, damn it, people would rather buy a three than buy a GS. And the emyl, although crap, and the music on SB are hardly worse than GS. In any case, the Z80 even at 12MHz won't be able to interpolate sample values (unless you turn it on the volume), and
any PC player can do at least linear interpolation :)))))
And the subject is almost free for free
