MilleniuM: debriefing
(c) Diver/4D
Well, now, in fact, let’s move on to a detailed examination of our Linoleum
(as some people put it ;-). Let's start with how the voting took place.
Copy gfx. In this compo the voting was smoothest. Of course, here and there
there were voices that were difficult to explain logically, but, on the whole,
the distribution of seats became clear almost from the first ten votes, and then
The gaps only widened, although Take My Soul & Oni, Neuronus & Baby
sometimes they changed places. The Rage To Overcome, leading from the start,
won quite convincingly with a margin of almost a hundred points.
Nocopy gfx. Here everything was a little more interesting, at least at first.
The very cool work Titanic was in second place for a long time, but then
slipped to 4th. Eruption! sometimes I went for the second one, but I couldn’t do it
to gain a foothold. Absolutely nothing could stop Fil, his competitors were simply
was not there, since Paracels drew for CCY2K (the title picture turned out
he just has the steering wheel)
Hazard completely lost inspiration and moved away from drawing :-(, CVM couldn't...
If I had time before the New Year, even if I tensed up, it wouldn’t matter
would not compete with Fil in nocopy, except perhaps GAS or Hann.
But there was no time, since I was running from the military registration and enlistment office (I wouldn’t wish it on my enemy), home
didn’t live, in short, didn’t have a spec at all... And then there was Y2K, the holidays...
In short, me andThe Rage finished drawing only close to the second deadlin (day,
when I picked up from the mailbox what was sent on December 31st). Such
Here's a sad story. Fil is certainly great - if he didn’t support MilleniuM,
nocopy gfx would be dim and unnoticeable. Although this is not Fil's best screen
for the year 99, but it’s easy to see that MilleniuM didn’t have anything cooler.
The top ten on the 5th votes of the place in nocopy are completely determined and then not at all
changed, only Eruption! crawled towards Wild, but could not overtake.
Copy Music. Of course, it’s easier to judge the graphics, so it’s not so interesting there
It was to follow the voting, another thing was the music. There's always something here
changed, tracks moved out of the top3, first places changed, someone climbed the mountain.
The leaders were roughly clear from the very beginning, of course, but who would take first place
it was never clear. At the beginning, Frozen, My Heart Will stayed in the top three for a long time
Go On and Chronos. Everyone liked the good old Chronos, a cool Titanic remix
and an elegant selection of Madonna. Love'n'Gun vegetated somewhere in the 6th-7th place,
WhiteRoad remix - a step higher. Then, DNK remix took first place,
Chronos and Titanic began to lose ground, but JoeDassin, on the contrary, began to gain
glasses. Heart (amiga mod) was firmly in last place, "He plays
at funerals and dances" was almost always second from last. Under the voting deadline
Love'n'Gun it seemsrushed to first place, desperately balancing there, but
Frozen still took its toll, and, for the first time in all time, Mast turned out to be first, IMHO, quite
deservedly so. Andy Fer is also very, very good, this can be clearly seen from his glasses
his track composition - only 6 units separate it from Frozen, and, looking ahead a little,
I’ll say that if for every additional vote sent by a participant it would be possible
at least half a point, then Andy would have stayed in first place ;-).
Nocopy music. There was a little less action here. The top three were the same
almost from the very beginning, Phoney Phrase and Sexy Potion also hung out near her,
but then the tastes of the voters pushed them a little lower. In first place at the beginning
there was Suggest!ve (Samara voices ;-)), then dreamhouse was in the lead for a long time,
poppy but pleasant Millennium. Deep Green and Phoney Phrase popped up occasionally
to the very top, but then went back down. It would seem that EA will be first again
