System - Many users do not understand why IS-DOS is needed if tr-dos is available.

The demo magazine has just been published,
how we started receiving phone calls
according to the is-dos system. Many users don't
understand why this system is needed if
there is tr-dos.

   We answer:
     1. Disk formatted in is-dos
      has 800 kbytes, in tr-dos it is 760
      kbyte

     2. In is-dos there is no division into
      programs for 48 kbytes, 128 kbytes and
      other (we hope that whoever
      will program in is-dos will adhere to
      live this). If the program is not
      enters everything into memory, then it will
      will load, some will say
      It's a whole megabyte and I have to wait
      sing this sound, I immediately want to calm down
      you have an excellent electronic
      the disk and the is-dos system do not differentiate
      it with a floppy drive, attach the driver
      and you can at least copy the entire disk
      into the memory of the electronic disk. Well
      who will have to work with only 48 kbytes
      only with a disk drive, for that
      everything works the same as on megabyte
      the car is not like in the stupid tr-dos.

     3.Working with texts is such that
      who works at tr-dos can only
      pose.

     4.Ultra comfortable expandable shell
      easily amenable to any of the
      change to suit every taste.

     5.Support all kinds of printers.

     6.Working with disks and ms-dos texts
      systems.

     7.Ability to work withthe worst
      disk as if it were new (damaged se-
      which simply close).

     8.Service, Service and Service again.

   This is just a small part of the benefits you
You'll figure it out with a little study and practice.
in the is-dos system when you see the fruits
of their labor, which were not too
difficult.

   As we have seen, not many users
figured out the is-dos system, many did not
can understand even the simplest thing
such a fast, current and systemic arrangement
property, and we consider it our duty to more
explain these meanings in detail without
You cannot work in the system.

T - current device, any device
    (disk) with which you work in us -
    current moment i.e. that panel where the hundred-
    it's your cursor.

Q - fast device, any device
    (disk) from which the system takes everything
    necessary files for its operation (can-
    may be immediately current). Usually they
    there is an electronic disk, because with
    it reads information faster
    and reduces floppy overwriting.

S - system device, any device
    in (disk) from which the system takes
    all the necessary files for it to work
    if they were not available at a quick install-
    swarm (can be immediate and current).

   We hope that we have sorted this out, and
there will be no questions about this later
about.

   And now the most interesting thing is how to create
enter the is-dos menuwhich serves
improving service and ease of access to
some programs.

════════════════ menu.com ═══════════════

   The menu.com program is launched
our file, and is used for convenience
How to work in the shell, i.e. you are on the screen
you will see a custom menu that
you will be given the right to choose actions, so
how to run a file, or call another
This user menu (reserved
but behind the '2' key).

   Example of menu.com working:
 T:SHELLmenu T:SHELL.mnu

   Here from the current device from the directory
ha SHELL is called menu.com file, another
part acts as a parameter i.e. program
mma menu.com should load the file -
.mnu from the current device, from the directory
SHELL and use the data from this file
for your work.

  Building the text file .mnu

    The text file must consist of st-
rock, the first character in each line is counted
is given by the manager i.e. operator (as in
in BASIC only the operator consists of one
symbol followed by parameters).

      Possible control characters
      (only in Latin case):

   a - these lines are displayed in the menu,
       but the cursor does not move over them:
Example:
    a╔════╗
    a║GAME║
    a╚════╝

   A - these lines are displayed in the menu,
       and the cursor moves over them:
Example:
    ...
    A IS-DOS
    ...
    A TR-DOS
    ...
    A MS-DOS
    ...
    A SHELL
    ...

   H - muststand the text that appeared
       appears in the hint line:
Example:
   ...
   A SHELL
   H Exit to shell
   ...

  P - there must be one of the internal ones
      commands ( L_S .......
               L_T.......
               L_Q.......
               CAT.......),
      this command is called before entering
      house in the menu (one in the text);
Example:
   PCAT T:UTIL
      open the file on the current device
      log UTIL;
   PL_S/A
      designates drive A as the system drive;
   PL_Q/E
      designates drive E as fast;
   PL_T /B
      designates drive B as current;

  Z - one of the internal ones must be
      commands ( L_S .......
               L_T.......
               L_Q.......
               CAT.......),
      this command is called by ENTER,
      Each menu item has its own.
Example:
   ...
   A DISK IS-DOS
   H Working with is-dos disks.
   ZCAT S:EDITHELP
   ...
      when selecting DISK IS-DOS and pressing
   enter key, will open on the system
   device directory EDIT, then directory
   HELP.

  T - there should be a command line, you-
      called in case of failure SS+A.
Example:
   TT:UTILList
   ...
      when you press the combination SS+A in the menu,
   run the list.com program on the system
   many disks in the UTIL directory (this is similar to
   blows in BASIC or TR-DOS pressing
   keys BREAK, in is-dos it is ss+a).

  C,c - should be the command line,
      called by selecting an option;C - standard program call with
   load not less than 25,000.
      c - calling a line via SHELL for
   large programs with download address
   below 25000.
Example:
   ...
   A COPY
   Hkonupobatb?
   ZCAT S:UTIL
   CT:SHELLexebat S:SERVICEcopy.bat
   ...
   when selecting the COPY option, perform copy.
   bat and open the UTIL directory.

  If after T,c,C there is *, for example c*tv
 (calling the text file viewer program
 ylov), then this string is converted to ctv
 , where is the name of the file where it was located
 cursor
Example:
   с*tv --> ctv menu.hlp
   when entering the menu the cursor was on the file
   menu.hlp.

  Sequence of lines:
  K, T, P, A or a, H, Z, c or C,
           A or a, H, Z, c or C,
           A or a, H, Z, c or C.....

  Optional lines:
  K, T, P, H, Z.

  If there is a need to use
  H or Z, then when executed, 1 is searched
  line H or Z after line "A" on co-
  ENTER was pressed.

  K - key string specifies operating modes
      menu like colors, frame display, etc.
Format:
   K//.....

    can be written:
Example:
   5 or %00000101 (in binary);

    List of keys:
  A: 0 - default;
      1 - menu window with shadow;
      2 - execute the corresponding command
          bottom line Z and return again
          in the menu;
      4 - menu window with 2nd frame;
      8 - do not execute line P;
      xx - totalaction,
Example:
   1+4=5 xx=5 .

 B: 16 - default;
      4 - short cursor;
      16 - prompt without frame;
      xx - summary action;

 E: coordinate x menu (default ce-
      ntrovka on X);

 D: the Y coordinate of the menu (default ce-
      ntrovka on Y);

 F: cursor position in the menu (by default-

 J: menu cursor color (default

   Note: If you run a menu file.
com without a parameter file, then the program av-
