Sitting late in the evening, I looked into the darkness.
And I heard a knock on the door of the steamer.
I looked up as I approached the door,
And when I opened it, I saw an old man standing there.
He was gray and old, he looked into the eyes.
And the words came out of his mouth:

You, let me in,
Let me warm up by the fire.
I will repay you for everything
Let me wait until the day starts.

And telling him, “Yes, are you an old man?”
I pulled the bolt and closed the door.
I went to bed with my eyelids down,
And I had nightmares about forest animals.
I spent the whole night in a cold sweat,
In my dream, the old man kept whispering into the darkness:

You, let me in,
Let me warm up by the fire.
I will repay you for everything
Let me wait until the day starts.

And when I woke up in the morning, I got up as best I could.
And going to the window, I saw myself:
The whole face turned yellow, overgrown with wrinkles,
And his beard hung down like a sponge.
And fear seized me, shackling my whole body,
And as if in delirium, I heard the words:

You, let me in,
Let me warm up by the fire.
I will repay you for everything
And my revenge will be my payment!!!
