We start, of course, with a review of what’s new! And, at the same time,
something that has already rotted a little. :)

Not the most important event, which, however, is worth mentioning:
slowly but surely the dominance of bilingual Spectrum begins
press. Now, of course, there are people who are looking at rapprochement
with the bourgeoisie, like Lenin on plans that contradict ideology

Coder will collaborate with Crappy Programs, and games will be
written with the same intensity as Spanish and with the same
quality, like Russians.

Well, yes, foreign audiences don’t want Robin of the Wood together
with Dizzy give for free download due to the fact that Distribution

to the last (as well as Onslaught with Wrath Designs, which has already

Okay, I digress. Ahem. Press! From published electronic publications
You can only mention the beta version of Burn the Lighter 2, period!
From the planned, news straight from the invisible front: preparing,
as already mentioned in the editorial, the new Generation Z (though
initially adjusted for foreign audiences) and Krik 11 on
English (correction: already ready, but the operation of inserting
English text in the shell never started). There are more
plans for Krik 12, but except for one picture and a bunch of texts for now
there is nothing.

Of the magazines in pdf, it is worth noting two issues of Russian
SRS-reborn from Scalesmann and one issue of the British ZX
Spectrum Gamer by sunteam_paul. If the first one has periodicity
there are problems, which is a bit annoying considering the simplicity of the design
and the presence of reprints, then the second one has no such problems at all:
Pavlik probably firmly decided that it would be published once a year.
:) And the design of the magazine itself is top notch, not to mention
about materials (although 22 pages for everything about everything will not be enough).

Of course, the domestic game industry is in even more
deep ass... uh-uh, sorry, I wanted to say "not worried
your besttimes "... That's it. From the less visible
I’ll say that Andrew771, the creator of ZXOOM, has already done it together with ALKO

We caught a demo of Civilization at one time... That's right,
a full-fledged game based on the DOS original! :) Of course they are
the builds that exist now don’t look very good, but nevertheless
less, they inspire hope for a good game. Let's wish this gang
good luck finishing your new project!

But even the worst of times can change: on Chaos
Constructions 2012 won the ZX Spectrum Game Compo category...
I won’t tell you, you still, one way or another, have heard about
this game. :) Well, if you haven’t heard enough, then right! B
Compo Review go-o-o-o-m-MARCH! Here I will just add that
if we continue to release games of this quality in the future, then we will have
there is every chance to return the golden years of the Spectrum to the ex-USSR! :)

By the way, about ZXOOM and immediately about HPRG. Remember, in the Critical demo
Error was a part with full screen Wolfenstein 2004, which,
everything else, works in 48K? Well, especially for those who are in
tank, I inform you that Alone Coder has posted it for everyone to see
working engine sources. True, there are so many discussions on this
there was no reason, and no one ever wrote a game on it, so...
People! Aw!! Whatdid I say in the paragraph above? Run and take ALASMs and
start making a stripped-down distillation of the original Wolfenstein 3D
on new rails! Or take the good old Polish shooter
Cytadela and transfer level by level. We're already tired
from all these Farcrys and Modern Warfares combined, so
that people need an old-school shooter on their favorite platform! We are waiting
new hit of 2013, hehehehe!.. :)

By the way, if you're interested, a map editor is included.

Speaking of demos, it is also worth adding that if about thesuper and
Demarche masterfully squeeze the last juice out of 128K cars
memory, then meanwhile in a parallel universe...

Gemba Boys and Hooy-Program do the same thing, but at 48K+AY. And
how they do it! I myself, who was brought up on the TBK+4D demos,
jaw dropped. Dizzzruptor and 30 Pripadov Majora Zemana
clearly prove that if you really want to write
a fucking demo on a platform that, in terms of power and memory, is

louder than the release of the new Jet Set Willy clone! ;)

And, of course, we cannot leave without mentioning the SG Team, which
in 2012 alone she has already released so many cracks,
never dreamed of KSA, Max Iwamoto and Bill Gilbert in their
nightmares! I'm too lazy to even count, but I'm sure they're there
no less than fifty... By the way, I remembered one piece of news about
Gilbert! I don’t know if it’s fake or not, but after all this time
months of silence, Comrade Gilbert made a new crack! Yes, yes, you
You heard right - it can be downloaded from Bill's personal blog. Crack
was made for the game Catacombs of Bachelor. Yes, there's a minimum
changes, including a new title screen, and that was made
in a hurry, but the fact that the legendary cracker became active
when no one expected it - a fact. ;)

No less loud cracks this year came from Shadow
Maker and company, but we’ll talk about them in more detail later, fortunately
there's something to be said there.

During 2012, many parties have already died downSpectrum.
Completed Forever, completed DiHalt, completed 3BM OpenAir, completed Chaos
Constructions, I also completed Spectrum 30, but that's it for the list
this year doesn't end. The fact is that in a glorious city
Donetsk, which is in Ukraine once again (specifically, for the third time)
there was a meeting of spektrumists (aka an informal party) under
called "Coal Party".

Under the patronage of newart this year several
competitions so that the party has a stronger skeleton,
however, de jure, only three took place: according to the presentation of the retro-
cars (two performances), Intro competition (one work from John
North) and AY Music (one work from me). However, the main
the highlight of this party was the entertainment of people, coupled with computer
iron, and not the development of the demoscene in general, so it’s possible with
I can confidently say that the party was a success.

I told the general news, so now let's move on to the old
column format...

████████████████████ ██████████▓▓▓▒▒▒░░░:: Earthraid*game*LCD

The simplest conversion of a game from a Commodore 64, which, however,
you can play a quick game at work and get a lot of money
pleasure. :)

Genre: turn-based strategy arcade-like. The point is random
a map is generated with forests, houses, rivers and... shellfish-
parasites that will sooner or later destroy all this beauty. And
our task will be to prevent them from eating everythinglight, of course
as far as possible, since one move can only be made
one action, and these bastards, on the contrary, multiply in
geometric progression. Of course, they themselves will die in a few moves.
20, but the game is for points, so you have to think about how to speed them up
departure to another world...

There are plenty of ways to get rid of parasites: you can just dig
a piece of land (mollusks are afraid of water), you can shoot at them
bomb, you can throw insecticide into the wind, but you can if
there will be a chance to hit them like crazy with a nuclear missile!
And if things get really bad and the mollusks are about to approach
houses of civilians, then it is possible (and even necessary) to send
helicopter for evacuation. In general, spin as you want, but for the record
you must pass!

▒▒░░░: More Tea, Vicar? * game * Cronosoft & Jonathan Cauldwell
███████████████████▓▓▓▒▒▒░░░: More Tea, Vicar? * crack * SG Team

At the moment, this game is the loudest product of this year
from Cronosoft. True, if many people liked it, then I’ll tell you
Frankly, not very much. :) There are a lot of reasons, one of which is
of which - wild and almost dishonest complexity. Well there you go
tell me how you can twist a simple space shooter
to such an extent that it would be interesting to play,
but, at the same time, practically impossible? Don't know? And comrade
Cauldwell knows, and how! :)Yes, cool graphics, along with an equally cool track from
Yerzmyey are present here, which gives the game a peculiar charm,
but it’s not clear why exactly *so* distort the gameplay? To me personally
the fact that the player's ship moves at a snail's pace, and
enemy - with the speed of a turtle it seems no less than
strange. Moreover, the player's ship with great joy
dies from one bullet, while even the weakest enemies (in
unlike the traditions of the genre) require ten exact
hits, no less. Add to this the control scheme in
in the form of "one bullet per button press" and bonuses that are issued
only after successfully gutting the enemy horde, and the first stage
will seem impassable. De facto, and actually complete the game
completely impossible, if only because she, instead of
to give away the ending, stupidly takes the player to the first level! How
reward for your efforts, huh? Should you play in this situation or
no - decide for yourself, but I personally would sit down instead of this toy
chop in R-Type. :)

The 128K version is available for free download, but "The Vicar"
for 48K (which differs only in the absence of music and the presence
one new level) they are afraid to give free access - he
still for sale. For those who are already desperate to complete this game before
the last boss, there is a disk version from Slider, in which
not availableonly endless lives, but also Easy Mode, where the enemies
as befits a normal space shooter, they are killed with
one hit. :)

██████████████▓▓▓▒▒▒░░░: Antiquity Jones * game * Paul Jenkinson
████████████████████▓▓▓▒▒▒░░░: Antiquity Jones * crack * SG-Team

But Antiquity Jones, unlike More Tea, Vicar?, is not even
tries to make a heavy and heavy elephant out of a light fly and
simply continues the line of simple, uncomplicated games with a view
side by Paul Jenkinson, created with Arcade Game Designer
(by the way, from the guy who brought you More Tea, Vicar? :)).

The idea, of course, is unoriginal, but nothing more can come of it
required: you need to conquer a very long array of ruins and deserts,
before we get to the very, very valuable vase. Well, or
samovar from the times of the Aztecs, as you please. :) Make it relative
simply, with a couple of caveats: we need to go through the game twice, then
there is a back and forth - that's it; due to the scorching heat constantly
energy decreases, and it must be replenished with bottles of water
disposable - that's two. A third one is also possible.
disclaimer: on the way back you can (due to a bug in the design
levels) bury your feet in the ground and get stuck in it. Forever.

Despite this, coupled with colorful graphics and not much
grueling level design, Antiquity Jones is visual
an example of the fact that even in sucha simple game maker, like
Arcade Game Designer, you can create good games. Even if they
They will be more likely for a one-time playthrough.

The remaining five (ten?) kilobytes of new text can be found in

short circuit to your emulator and, if it survives after that,
download next part.

As usual, reviews and other interesting materials on the Spectrum
then and now are accepted either through forums or through
