─ ─ ──────────────────────────────────────┼
Did you think that since this is a gaming magazine,
We won't do reviews of works from the party? Just-
on the contrary! There will always be a reason. But it won’t be -
there will definitely be one. :)
Game competitions at parties are nothing new,
but, perhaps, the only competition that
the press at one time reviewed very, very
carefully, it's called Your Game. :) It's a mess!
What will we do with DiHalt, who passed
almost recently?
Today we will take a quick look at how
there was a local combined game compo, i.e.
"make a game, and what kind of game, on what platform -
it doesn’t matter, as long as it fits into the general rules.”
The work received was mostly simple, although
formula “the simpler the toy, the lower the place”
was not always observed - voting decided everything.
:)
7th - Pixie Puzzles by Marina Alekseeva The simplest game. Or rather, coding
practice... There is a small puzzle of several
pieces (let's call them more simply, “puzzle links”). There
even the “holes” into which the data are highlighted
puzzle links need to be put in.
When the puzzle is completely assembled, no
nothing will happen, but if you press the button
“Make it more difficult”, a small animation will be shown c
fairy There are only four animations and puzzles
pieces.
But I just don’t understand why on them
(in anime) ALL fairies must
wink? :)
bth - The Adventures of Lusha: The Lost Pearls
by Philip Karmanov
Undeservedly low place, however. With all
its apparent childishness, the game is quite
deeply developed, even if short. :)
The influence of this is very noticeable here.
wonderful series of games like Spyro The Dragon
(the first three parts of which I went along and
across). Awhat doesn't look like? Fantasy
furnishings, a certain number of precious stones
(or, in this case, solar disks), for
collection, portal system (there is a “main” level
and several sublevels), all kinds
hides...
Damn, there's even a muhuurpa in which
a good magician turns into a fairy and helps Moncy
It’s better to collect some more disks, making your way into
places that are difficult for a dog to reach. About that
the same thing happened in Spyro 3, only there instead
the magician was a dragonfly, and there also had to be
shoot at enemies. Here. :)
Lack of music and not the most literate
the graphic part (however, it looks like
a single whole, and not as a set of random sprites)
may be attributed to the fact that this is a beta version.
Although even here the cycle of day, night and
weather conditions, what for such a platformer
unusual in itself. :)
We will wait not only for the full version, but also
bigger and better second part. ;)
Sth - Spot The Difference by Marina Alekseeva Uh... a game from the same series as the last one
place. Three pictures with Smeshariki are given.
More precisely six, we need to find the differences! :)
But here, as soon as it seems to you that you have found
that's it... they don't move you to the next picture,
even if: 1) such a sincere promise
will be written next to each pict; 2) yours
the eyes can no longer detect any differences
in general.
Well, what else can I say? I hope, Marina
will soon show us a flash game not only c
gorgeous cartoon graphics, but also more
professional coding. :) What do we wish for her?
good luck.
Хth - Megatux by Rajvo Shtulberg
The manual made me scratch my head. No, not
because of the plot, which is closely related to Mario, and
due to the fact that on its second page there is
note "Especially for the Magic World competition
2011". Hm...
The game itself... well, how to say. We manage
Linuxoid penguin,we find the keys,
we dodge enemies. In short, standard
platformer. In terms of implementation and playability, he
of course, oh how far from Super Mario Blue
Twilight DX (also a free game, for those who are
tank). But why, if the author’s goal was rather
enjoying and participating rather than
popularity and desire to make a super project?
It is also worth mentioning the joke with the platforms,
which has already pissed off more than one generation of gamers,
who played Dizzy: the platform is moving, and you
you stand and don’t even move... Or,
or rather, suspended by strings and hanging in the air
a couple of centimeters from the fulcrum.
As for the graphics: in separate elements it
looks good, even great, but together
looks more like a set of glued together clippings from
magazine rather than as a single whole. Yes and animation
let us down.
So let Megatux be a game like
"take a break for ten minutes", fortunately more
she does not set great and incomprehensible goals.
Just for relaxation.
Зth - Funny Smiley by Alexander Nosov and EugeneTolokin
Well, on the one hand, excellent, even if not
brilliant idea, cool plot and even
fully animated screensavers for intros and
endings. For a Game Maker this is probably very
even cool. :)
The plot is as follows: we communicated somehow
two avid Internet users among themselves, Black
Cloak and Kpobococb, when suddenly they see from the chat window
the smiley disappeared, and not just disappeared, but disappeared
in a seemingly unknown direction.
This could be attributed to glitching
official ICQ client, or whatever you have
The stale version just stood there. Ho na
in fact, the smiley disappeared due to the fact that it
stole the evil Altavirus virus and locked it in
dark MS-DO console... sorry, dungeon. And,
of course, our hero must first
give the virus devils and then come back
back to the ICQ window.
...on the other hand, from a gameplay point of view,
The game already looks unfinished. K horse racing
the main character in the spirit of "48 Irons" I can still
get used to it, but thenwhat can't be done at the same time
pressing the up and right arrows is annoying
wildly And at the end of the second level there is already
EXACTLY a bottomless pit from which you can climb out.
only through load game. No, of course, on the third
level, controllability becomes ideal, which,
however, this is not surprising: we are in a labyrinth, after all,
from above. :)
So, Funny Smiley is a joke game, which in its own way
time was White Eagle: Comrade Known from
Fatality.
2nd - Vydry Demo by Marie Slip
It turns out that Comrade Slobodchikov is not only
I haven’t forgotten about Spectrum, but it still does
new games. Not to spec, of course, but it does.
Unfortunately, I was unable to run this one.
It's good that there is a video of this on YouTube
demos to see what's going on.
I cannot give an “objective assessment” of this creation.
I can, but I’ll say that Slipa decided this time
beat the Worms clone. Instead of worms, like
supposedly otters. Yes, of course, one is missing
of thesechips like the destruction of the earth
surface, but even without this the game is good...
probably.
Graphics, as in the case of his own Empire 2,
is a mixture of ripped (backdrops made of Metal
Slug) and the author's (otters, well drawn
and animated).
1st - Alter Ego by Shiru and Alex Semenov
First there was 8-Bit Night for current gens.
Then Alter Ego appeared for the ZX Spectrum. A
now - Alter Ego for eight-bits.
If anyone has forgotten what the essence of all is
the above games, let me remind you. We manage
a little man, parallel to whom he is moving
"shadow". Both can be switched :), but
limited number of times. There are also skulls
(enemies), stairs and rectangles (bonuses,
one type is selected only by a man, the other -
only shadow). Adding more or less confusing
levels and in the end we have an excellent puzzle, for
where you can spend many pleasant minutes...
At least until you beat Final Chamber.
Alreadybecause of the platform for which this was written
game, it can be given first place. Well or
third, if the quality of the game would be a little
worse. But Shiru knows what he's doing, doesn't he?
Another striking fact is that the toy was
written in less than two weeks in pure C,
and it looks great and works
quickly. :) True, it was written without music: it
will be added just before the party starts.
The tracks, by the way, were written by comrade Kulor, and in
they fit into the atmosphere just perfectly.
Although, in general, the NES scene is catastrophically
there are enough products that will no longer be available
to a simple arcade game, but to a more dynamic and
"inflated" game... well, Herzog Zwei,
for example. Why not an example to follow? :)
Great game, real time strategy c
elements of space shooters.
However, why am I finding fault?.. The fact that in
Alter Ego invested a considerable amount of soul and was
The content itself has been well-developed, which makes me happy. To me personally
AE liked the mountain-p-p-p-p-p-p-much more than
non-commercial Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril,
who (IMHO) tried to leave mainly for
wild difficulty score (a-la I Wanna Be The Guy) andnostalgia.
So let's hope that writing
homebrew games for old computers and consoles
will soon get a new life. About the same
what Spectrum had in those distant nineties.
P. S. Did you know that the creation of 8-Bit Night
Did the spektrumists also make an effort? In particular,
music. One person in particular. His name is
Sergey Kosov, maybe you heard, from the group Sage? :)
