   Exactly one year ago, January 14, 2005, I applied to FIDO 
here with this message:

   Trying to create a global ZX-forum


   Among my hobbies, interest has steadily Spectrum

other hand, the number of nostalgic for the ZX Spectrum 
platform increases, while the Internet is becoming accessible 
to more and more people.


   In addition to the Spectrum in the circle of my interests 
include PDAs, and more precisely Palm. I even created a 
Spectrum emulator for Palm. So KPKshechniki have its main

decided to offer turnkey project. Poked through the familiar 
with the request to build a similar forum, but seeing the lack 
of interest, I gave up on this venture and decided to hand in

Once again, do everything himself. First of all, I found
commercial hosting service with a short and easily remembered
name. Then came time to choose at which the engine
organize a forum. After a long search I chose
engine to vBulletin, as most suitable for the supplied
problems.

   At the moment I started in the forum vBulletin v
3.0.5 (the latest version now) with Russian
interface. Forum is pretty empty and waiting for the 
registration of their participants. To begin, I used a standard 
style and created original sections, taking into account its 
experience in ZXNet and FIDO, but I hope that if my idea will 
be developed, the combined forces, we do really interesting to 
visit a forum where each be able to find something interesting, 
and together we will decide with the style and topics. You can 
take a separate section Profy users can take a separate section

AloneCoder'u, you can take a separate section of the game 
Elite, you can take a separate group NedoPC, you can take a 
separate section of the newspaper 'Passage' and so on. You can 
do a lot of things to do. I in turn on what not pretend, and 
just trying to make what would have been ready for use.


   Advantages of my proposal:

   1. Commercial hosting service with good connections in 
Russia and from abroad.


   2. Short and memorable name.

   3. The lack of any advertising.

   4. Commercial reliable engine with the latest version of 
vBulletin Russification.


   5. Opportunity to leave the forums attachment (games, 
pictures, music, etc.)


   6. Forum is not a supplement to something, and there
separately.

   7. Forum is devoted exclusively to the Spectrum and nothing 
more. 

   So the choice is yours and all hope only on you.

  On the same day there were first zaregistrirovavshisya
users! Since it was founded a little less than two thousand of 
those reviewed more than 34 thousand messages and recorded more 
than 8 hundreds of users (and spammers is not among them!). 
Finally spektrumisty received a single place online where they 
can socialize with like-minded, share ideas, ask questions,

receive counseling, etc. etc. The Forum provided an impetus to 
new projects focused on the Spectrum and our community. All this

can not but rejoice! I am happy that my idea is not failed and
received support from the community!


   I congratulate all members of the forum on this event! And 
our forum I wish even more interesting topics, and more 
visitors!
