Enlight'97 - On Enlight'97.

  So the summer is ended, went Enlight,
someone who gained inspiration, sat down
New megademo for the next Party. But
about the old one should not forget, because if
a close eye on small (and not) the problem, the festival was 
interesting and useful for all (even for those who did not

  At this time Enlight passed almost

Saturday and Sunday, August 23-24. If anyone interested, the

  I got to the Enlight to some extent by chance (note: only to

the expense of the official part. The behavior of the informal

  While spinning old demos, too, take turns on different 
platforms, people learn and greeted some took as nekotrye

Thanks to the label with the name and group name immediately it

to show themselves, that success did. Many of them, and all the

of the computer like iBM, and the operating system remotely 
resembling our native Speccy. As it turned out it was only a 
Spectrum, but to improve, so to speak, advanced, version, with 
the working title Sprinter-97. If the I'm not mistaken, the 
authors in a mini-survey about their child, also proposed to 
come up with a resounding name for it. Our group would advise 
just remove the first letter, then all all become clear. :)

  Periodically
operator (aka the author) ran a nice
program where the big and orange label
"SPRINTER 97" progressively and quickly
cracked, and then fly away in different

(or at least the CIS). And the author, and other members of the 
firm asked a lot of questions. Full compatibility with

  But as time went on. The organizers ended
best demos, and lunch has passed. Therefore
was declared ZX Grafics Compo. All hurried to the hall to be 
seated at the computer screen, some of which are already 
assembled a decent crowd. Most of the pictures of delight not 
called, there was almost no applause. The more competitive 
works were about a hundred and had to make a little break. By 
the end of the masterpieces were viewed so fast that even the 
commentator confused by the number. Some of his work with light

completely confused. There were a few pictures from the 
testimony of later demos, a few allegories applying for a deep 
philosophical meaning, a lot of monsters and beasts, and other

Compo. Songs were not very long, so

it took place. Others are more or less interesting, although 
many were quite monotonous (not to say boring).

Some are literally covered his ears (and this is
fact), or simply quit. In general, all the time
on Enlight'e was very noisy, there was no order (although I'm 
not saying that This is bad). Music played loud, even

too, especially for those who just
returned from the bar. I have nothing against
of the musical or organization - just
Music Compo in such circumstances can not be
assessed fairly objectively.

  But the popular song about Barmaley ("In
African Gorilla ... will you bite, beat
and hurt ...) has called the first have a burst of laughter,
and then a gnashing of teeth - it all too
pall. Maybe new oranzhirovka was and
not bad, but as a competitive robot
Enlight'97 looked not very much. Here

  After the music on a regularly scheduled

Truly bad demos at this
Enlight'e was not. But it was a lot of very
good. There were, of course, and problems. For example, there 
were such works, which for some reason did not want to run (it 
is worse). And it is precisely in this contest appeared

without it). I must say that the approach of the organizers of 
the works has been somewhat biased. Immediately it was evident 
that first twist demos from unknown authors and works of 
masters leave napotom. Masters is masters, then say nothing, 
but still ... (I wonder what these three mysterious point?) And 
everything else was just excellent.


  Common to all the demos was the indiscriminate use of 
"plasma". That he is from presents itself, you probably know, 
but if you do not know, so guess (although better, of course, 
just watch the demo with Enlight'a). Met this very effect it

in almost every demo, in different versions. That is why, not 
because he was a bad note on it not to aggravate.

perhaps, fully deserved. Although personally I would put EYE 
ACHE 2 in second place. Thus,

  I should also mention, though it has to
Spectrum'u only an indirect relationship that, in
Amiga intro contest won the same CODE
BUSTERS (incidentally, all the work fell to
Rst 7).

  And Binary Love and Eye Ache 2 were vsterecheny and left with 
applause. And this really good work. I'm not going to

describe, better remove them and see
themselves.

  Day drew to a close, it was dark, the organizers started to 
show replays of the second once. And the people went out and 
leave, but not home, because most come for thousands of miles 
kilometers, in order to then say jealous friends: "I was

on Enlight'e! "

  The next day, nothing but the counting
votes, Spectrum'a not concerned. But some one, something, on 
some wall in some toilet, about some bad people wrote

and the next day Enlight'97 was officially closed "for 
technical reasons."
