I apologize to the authors, an excellent “baby book”!
As a ransom, I’ll still note that the cursor “moves” when returning from the article
create a cell to remember the position of the cursor, it will be
more pleasant to work with.
And now, Zhen, explain to me the teapot; Is this a cruel inevitability
TR-DOS?
Why such garbage that the files must be located one after the other?
Nothing can be done to make everything work with an arbitrary arrangement?

It’s true that I’m not Zhenya, but that’s okay. :)
When program blocks are loaded, it is much more convenient to work with
a linear address on the disk (track, sector), rather than with individual
files. The files that need to be arranged in order actually represent one block of data, and it is enough to know
only the address of the beginning of the block to find everything else by offset.
Naturally, if the order of the files is incorrect, the data block is destroyed.
Sincerely
