From Vyacheslav Mednonogov To All 15 January 1998

Get Msg, All!

Here in RIP#06 information flashed that “ZX-Format is gaining momentum.” It seems that by now this is no longer the case :( According to Rachkin, the circulation of ZXF has been falling lately. The collapse of the IFC could be fatal for the magazine, since the lion's
share of the circulation was distributed through it. How much exactly - only Zonov knows :),
but, for example, #3 sold 1300 copies, which cannot be said about #6-7.
The editors are collecting articles/materials for #8, but if you believe Rachkin, the release
of the issue is in doubt (!?). Previously, Raster expected to make the issue by February.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

About Spectrum Expert. Many have already seen it. The general opinion is something like this - a magazine as a magazine. Reminds me of the Format (IMHO, due to the dryness of the material presentation :). Yes, modern magazines lack emotional overtones (where are you, SPF! :). Although, to brighten up this matter, a whole section is devoted to Ilya Fomin and his jokes :)
However, there is no need to find fault - this is only the first issue.

With warm greetings, Slava!

Yes, hard times have begun. Now, in order for a magazine to survive, it needs to be at least not bad. Although this does not always help. Further profit
will continue to go down the inclined plane. Only the most enduring ones will remain, as well as
a couple of the best magazines... And then... Only the "most enduring" ones... =( At least
they did some promotions, or what? Instead of 20 intros, there would be more sense. As if they still haven't realized that the magazine is valued mainly for information. Everything else
is just an appendage.

AA> Maybe buy TM from Spectrofon? :) (2DG: ;))

In your opinion, tm "ZXF" is less popular than tm "SPF"? ;)

Warm greetings, Slava!

From Arseniy Astapenko To All 20 January 1998

To be honest, _was_ less. I remember how the 1st Format appeared on our market. Traders had to convince: “Yes, this is better than SPF, honestly!” :) While it's getting promoted...
And people still ask for the latest SPF numbers :)
But for anything else, no offense said, Adenturer or Oberon
_don't ask at all_. Why did this happen?
It’s just that at one time all kinds of mushrooms began to grow like mushrooms
Amanitas :), Spectrophobias, etc. People looked, read, erased and went back to ask for SPF and ZXF.

> Warm greetings, Slava!

p.s. By the way, question: can the CV load on 2-fielders?

Imho, the Format is losing popularity. I judge from Fido and the press. Over the past six months, I
have not heard a single positive review about him. =( However, no one particularly scolded him
either. But this is also alarming: better bad reviews (i.e. the magazine did not go unnoticed, interested someone) than none... About Spectrum
Expert or Expert Spectrum, too, nothing has been heard =*(

Is Adventurer still coming out? What is the last one?

Hallo, Vyacheslav.

With the quiet rustling of the HDD Tue January 20, 1998 03:56, Vyacheslav Mednonogov filled in
for Arseniy Astapenko:

SH> In your opinion, tm "ZXF" is less popular than tm "SPF"? ;)

More precisely, ask how many orders of magnitude SPF is more popular than ZHF.

With respect, Shor Kan.
In this world, only two things are infinite: the Universe and human stupidity.

AA> Yes, all kinds of mushrooms just started to grow in due time

And also note that in almost any magazine (except SPF and ZXF) the authors claim
that their magazine is much cooler than the others - maybe it’s a matter of excessive arrogance
:-? Here is the last example, this is the Spectrum Expert - it directly says that
ZXF has fallen into disrepair and SE has replaced it with 8-[ ] And well - at best it is the same
ZX Format :))

AA> p.s. By the way, a question: can the CV be loaded on 2-fielders?

Who are the fieldworkers (I’m very weak in Belarusian :)? Disk drives? In CV, any disc (1st or 2nd) can be installed on any drive.

Warm greetings, Slava!

And what’s the worst then? ;)

As for the mutual collisions of subjects with each other, this is generally
for example very familiar to me. Sometimes there is nothing to put into the shell - they insert an attack - and the main thing is interesting for everyone (from the outside).
And they respond back. Look - and the regularity of releases! :)
We remember that people even went to beat people up because of newspapers.
In general, it’s fun :(
The most important thing is that all of this is, so to speak, local in nature.
I don’t care if SE ran into a ZXF there or not.
But if in SE I see a beautiful empty shell, I’ll erase it.

By the way, another addition to my words is possible. now on the way to the echo.
The 2nd issue of the Impulse newspaper was published in Brest (the 2nd issue in 2 years (!))
There are also some interesting thoughts there.
But I was especially struck by the fact that in the “Advertising” section
there are two sentences from Technodrome one after another:
1st from the author, 2nd from the hacker who hacked it Cool!

Yes, the 2nd issue should be out soon...
A first of all... The design failed. And the information is normal, at least better
than the last format.

Sincerely, CAPTAIN/56.

Mine with a brush, Arseniy!

Somehow, somewhere Arseniy Astapenko wrote to All:

AA> But I was especially struck by what was in the “Advertising” section

:-E~~~ and you can’t do anything with them...

AA> But the truth is that 90% of users have Byte supercomputers of local
AA> production. So exactly half of their banks are extremely slow. :(

Byte in terms of braking is an analogue of the branded Spectrum. Unfortunately, even
a little bit slower by about 1000 clock cycles :( so what slows down on 'Byte'
with a probability of 100%-(1000/70000)*100% slows down on branded Speck.

zy: by the way, according to the subject: wait for the 4th 'Echo'. This miracle should be released in a new interface (although I haven’t seen it yet :) the delay was almost a year (!) due to a lot of work on my part, I hope the new issue will not be worse. the same :)
we always try to pay maximum attention to the material.
