Hello, dear Rick!
Damn, it’s not that zed is needed, it’s just necessary! One of these days I'll get myself a hayes modem, I'll pick up the mail myself, bypassing the gateway, so I won't be able to do without it at all! And there are so many of us here :))))))!
It swaps a lot, although with a screw, but at 7 MHz it’s not noticeable. There are few glitches, but there are:
-it always switches the keyboard to yutsuken sooner or later, even
if you set it to yaverts.
-for some people the break hangs or resets, although for me
everything is o'k.
It seems like everything.
There is also a purely subjective opinion -
-in the editor formatter inconvenient, likes to retype the entire page again.
And the worst glitch can’t even be called a glitch, since
it is only possible with a screw.
This is what I ask all writers to take note of, because bugs
need to be fixed before they multiply. Over time, many people will have screws, so...
The matter is connected with the mechanism of operation of the hard drive hdd driver in the tr dos system. When accessing entry point #3d13, the shadow
service monitor takes over control, loads
or unloads everything where it should be, and returns control to the calling program. In the process of operation, it changes the configuration
of the system, and at the output it restores it, and if there are no problems with the pages, then there is a problem with the screen.
Which screen was at the input - the fifthor the seventh - it can only be determined by the variable #5b5c (a copy of port #7ffd), more precisely
by its third bit, and if it does not correspond to the real value, then after loading, damn it, I go into the shadow and put the screen
in place manually, and in #5b5c I push a zero, and is it possible? After all,
the settings are stored there!
You can, of course, work in 48 mode, but then you won’t be able to
have in memory both Zed and CDOS, and some kind of zx-word or
is-editor, in short, because of one bit there are a lot of troubles :(
Such problems, although they are isolated, but damn, they do happen. And
about the node tosser - complete rulez, because if there are
ZX points, then there should be ZX and even ZS nodes :-))))))) !
With best wishes, Walerij
AKA Jason Frost.

that’s strange. Apparently either the configuration file has gone wrong, or the keyboard
layout file is missing.

I have never noticed.

in the editor or in the reader?

I don’t know at all.

I don't really understand. The easiest way would be for you to send me a piece of code that needs to be
inserted before and after accessing the disk. I'll put it in.

this is in the process.. perhaps given the chronic lack of time - by the new
year.
Farewell.
