Question to V. Mednonogov
ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»
From Andrew Savichev → To All 10 February 1998
Hello, Vyacheslav!
There has been a lot of bazaar here on the topic of distributing software over networks for
money.
And here is a specific question-suggestion for you.
Would you undertake to make a network (simplified) version of ChV-C based on ChV-1? yes, then how long would it take you and would you agree to “give it to the networks” after receiving the money (since it will probably spread everywhere from here).
How much would you want for it? (20 x 300 = 6,000 new ones - IMHO it’s realistic to collect,
let the remaining 400 get a freebie ;) )
Is it possible to make it so that it does not compete with the main ChV-1?
If you take it, then this business will get off the ground and all
these bazaars will end. At the same time, we’ll see which of these talkers is able to “tear away” 4 cans of beer.
With respect, Andrey Savichev/ CGS

...and how many need HF via modem.

Hello Andrew Savichev! In a message of 10 Feb 98 Andrew Savichev wrote to All:

If it does not compete with the main ChV-1, then people are unlikely
to agree to shell out money for it, And if it is almost the same, they will shell out
10% of the money, the rest will be signed up for free, and they will play without wanting to buy
normal CV. The online version cannot be protected, and it will become the property of pirates who will be able to sell it without giving a drop of profit to the author. And for “freeloaders” the alternative is something like this: either a free version that is
10% worse (approximately), or at least 30 rubles new for a normal one. They
of course will choose the first one, and there is no fear that the disk will collapse, you can always
keep a copy. No, IMHO, you shouldn’t do that. And if Slava agrees, then
he will do it in vain.
With respect, Alex from FFC COMPUTERS.

I greet you from the bottom of my heart, Sergei! Wed Feb 11, 1998, Sergei Novikov squeezed the keyboard, hoping that the following words would reach Andrew SN> ...and how many people need HF via modem. Listen, You're contradicting yourself - why would I pay money for a bunch of crap, huh? In the hope that someday what I need will fall? So I'd rather pay for it. Not everyone wants to play CV, not everyone needs systems, so why bother with this nonsense? I won’t pay an honest guy, for example, I’m not interested in demos! Hasta la vista.
