From Michael Kondratyev To All 2 March 1997

Hello Dmitry!

Thu Feb 27 1997, Dmitry Lechew concocted a letter to Michael Kondratyev:

DL>>> And how? It’s interesting to play with new toys...
MK>> Without a diagram it’s unlikely to be possible to make a clear decision. Although in most
MK>> cases it is cheaper and faster to simply change the board.
DL> How much? And what to buy? There’s no money :(

I’m not particularly aware of Moscow prices and assortment, so I can hardly recommend anything specifically. It’s just that once upon a time they brought me variations of ten probably
different unknown boards (most often these were “factory” creations, for one
I even remember the name - Orel-BK08) and almost always it turned out to be easier and faster to assemble the desired 128 (256) from the “standby” 48th Zonov board, leaving only the memory and processor from the original one, than to study the often very difficult to read diagram (if there was one at all). And the board itself cost a pittance (it was often necessary to buy a fully loaded one). even
more economical than stuffing a clean one) - that’s understandable, it’s a semi-finished product after all.

DL> You’re offending: I installed the divider there. Only later did I manage without it,
DL> since I didn’t take it from the leg, but there was no need to divide it there.

That’s why it seems quite strange to me to take it from the CPU and divide it. ;)

With best wishes, Michael.
