From Andrew Savichev → To All 27 January 1998
Hi, All!
Since not all authors were able to understand from the information the procedure for submitting applications for
participation in FT'98 competitions, I provide an important message about the registration of works.
This message is an official document of the Organizing Committee, by virtue of the authority granted to me by the head of the FunTop'98 registration department.

R A Z I S N E N I E
about the procedure registration of works for
participation in FunTop'98 competitions.
As for the works:
since we have chosen the formula "one author - one work in one nomination", then
you can present to the jury an unlimited number of works, according to the number of authors.
And the authors can be both a group (in this case, a cash prize, in the case of taking
a prize place, will be given to the group), and individual members of the group
(if you have enough creativity for this potential).
It is not allowed to use works that
participated in other public competitions and won prizes (it is also not advisable to use old works that did not take places, unless they
were significantly revised). The rest of the rules for work were in the info.
And be guided by the principle, “everything that is not prohibited is permitted,” if
there are any changes in the rules, thenthey will have to be taken into account, but the law does not
have a “retroactive effect”, i.e. works submitted “before” the changes in the rules
in accordance with the previous rules are allowed to the competition.
Jury members and members of the Organizing Committee
working in the departments of the Organizing Committee are not allowed to take part in competitions!
Now regarding your application for participation in the competition. If you have filled in one
of the last three fields - this incorrect! To register a work, you must
give it a title and indicate the nomination and file names. Keep copies of the applications for yourself and when sending your work, please check the compliance. Works must
be submitted to the Registration Department before the deadline specified in the information, but preferably
a month before the festival, i.e. until July 22, 1998.
Until this deadline, the application remains valid! Please submit a separate application for each job. In the Real Name field: indicate all authors who will apply for the prize. In a separate author's work, the name of the group
does not need to be indicated! Competition participants automatically reserve cheap
tickets for themselves. Only, if the author does not go to the competition (he can make the decision to go or not to go after the jury informs about the entry of the work into the final), then he must
indicate in brackets the person who will take his work and to whom the jury, in the case of the work of the prize winnerplaces, may award a cash prize. That is, you indicate your authorized representative in
brackets.
Regarding copyrights:
The Organizing Committee guarantees the preservation of copyright for all works submitted
in a manner that excludes information leakage along the way.
Works that have won prizes automatically go into the FREEWARE category,
and the rest - at the request of the authors, and if the author is against such a transition,
he must declare this himself when sending work.
Regarding the size of prizes and the voting procedure:
a separate official document of the FT'98 Organizing Committee will be published

Sincerely, Andrey Savichev, head of the registration department of the FunTop'98 Organizing Committee
