External screw for Specky???

Not COM, but LPT... The printer...

ES> Very interesting, ALL, is this possible or is it nonsense???

In principle, it is possible, but it will slow down wildly.
However, on Specky you might not even notice this...

This is definitely not a plus. The hard drive controller on the motherboard consists of several buffer chips and a decoder. Their total cost is 5 rubles. And an external device will definitely
cost a lot more. Plus the brakes when working through the computer..

P.S. It’s easier to remove the screw cable from the computer and hook it from the outside, if necessary
that would be cheap.

Ivan, with Big Greetings.

Hello, Evgen Shablitskiy! I remember, on April 19, 98 you took it and launched
in All with this:

It is implemented in future versions. And in the map of ports there is room left for one more. Only the speed there is 9600/NONE maximum.

Bye, with a pack of viciouses, Pavel Fedin.

Whoever developed (ZS) first gets the cards.
IMHO there's no point in creating hardware standards. The old days (when everything should be
our own, not like someone else’s) are gone...

I wonder how All feels about the hardware people who invent a “bicycle”
incompatible with “competitors” in advance?

It’s not a matter of inventing bicycles. (Although, this matter is very interesting and, imho,
necessary!) The point is that the standards are closed (We won’t say whose ones.)

And the standard for connecting an HDD to a Sprinter is such that the screw can be connected using almost
any existing circuit. (But the ZS standard is not included in it.)

Ivan, with Big Greetings.

9 kilobytes per second. Do you know what the transfer speed of the hard drive is
through the IDE?

You’re wrong, 9 kilobits per second, a little more than a kilobyte per second... ;)

ES> Do you know what the transfer speed of the hard drive is via the IDE?

But no one bothers to make a COM port on the Spectrum with a speed of
28800 baud. Personally, I made a MIDI controller on a Spectrum with a 3.5 MHz processor,
the exchange rate there was 31250 baud.
Quite sufficient speed, considering the Spectrum memory capacity.
We don’t have the task of organizing Windows swapping! ;)

So what’s the matter, this is a real alternative to all sorts of perversions, such as an expansion board. You need a screw, connect it, work. Not needed, don't connect. It is also quite possible to use such a
port for transmitting data via a null modem to the PC and
back. There you look and the CD-ROM will spin. :@)
Only, probably, the hardmakers won’t be able to cope with such a problem, they
don’t have enough strength! :@))))))))))))))))))))))))

Let me intervene. I have one hard drive - 2.2 Mb, and the second 1.7 Mb.
And there are also 3-4 Mb and probably more...
And 9600/HONE - what does it have to do with 9 kilobytes per second? After all, 9600 is 1 kilo per second...

And may the Force be with Me and My friends!

Depends on which controller is attached...
If it’s like Nemo’s, it doesn’t seem like it can have more than 15 kilos, I can’t say for sure
I can’t say, I have to look at the papers, but they’re at home...
I can say that the fastest controller is the one
ZX-Next, the fastest and most well-thought-out in terms of port addressing
And Scorpov’s is really slow...
The truth is, the speed mainly depends from the program, and of course, well-thought-out port addressing...

I foresee about 300 kb/sec. But obviously not like 9600 bps. I also remember 68020. ;-)

We've already gone through it. Quite a long time ago... But TR-DOS won - because of its cheapness... :(

Let’s not go from empty to empty, so take and blur
into the echo the circuit of a normal controller with a description. Do as
The Great Sinclair did. Give the people the diagram, then we can talk about the growth of
users. Then it will be possible to discuss something.
And in such a HDD situation as now, only the phrase of Mikhail Zhvanetsky is suitable -
