TR-DOS vs CP/M

■ I love you man, All!

If possible, tell me in more detail what is the difference between these OS. Which one is more literate,
which commands are in TP-DOS (I remember the SMeM ones).

Hey, that’s all...

It will be an incorrect comparison.
TRDOS is Spec.
CP/M is more global.

The difference is absolutely everything. As for literacy - IMHO both are good. TR-DOS
is fast, but ABSOLUTELY undevelopable; CP/M seems to have drivers
loadable, and even a pitiful semblance of subdirectories, but BRAKES...

Bye, with a pack of vicious, Pavel Fedin.

AK*> It would be an incorrect comparison.
AK*> TRDOS is Spec.
AK*> CP/M is more global.
Is there probably a CPM implementation for Spec too?
In general, maybe there is a helper for TRDOS. What commands?
By the way, what bells and whistles are used today? Rum discs? Screws?

What about crushing the baby?

■ Pavel, do you respect me?

PF*> The difference is absolutely everything.
Yes. I'm here as a white person, in response to the prompt I'm trying to type dir... ;)

PF*> As for literacy - IMHO both are good. TR-DOS is fast, but ABSOLUTELY
PF*> undevelopable; CP/M seems to have loadable drivers, and even
PF*> a pitiful semblance of subdirectories, but BRAKES...
Brakes? When working with a disk? Hmm... SO it's a floppy disk and not a screw or a PRAM.
By the way, why did the PAM disks rot? The program sizes are small, making
PAM for 512 kilos is no longer a problem, recharge from batteries in slip mode.
For work - just right. Well, if you store a lot of information, then these are floppy disks.

I’m finishing... It’s scary to count, I’m freezing with shame and fear...

Why is it late? I worked, though not on a Speccy, but on a Corvette, and I know what a drag and inconvenience these floppy disks are. Very slow. And a PAM disk with recharge (static or even flash) is about 1Mg - that’s convenient! Drain everything onto it and

No. Brakes in general, in general. The programs don't even know how to work with the screen.

I worked with two operating systems. Microdos and C&P. The latter seemed much faster to me.

PF*> Programs don’t know how to work with the screen at all. Text editors
PF*> don’t even know what scrolling is.
Again, CPM and a good editor for it (355 kilos seems to be the limit for

I don’t remember the name, the file was called ST.COM. Not a bad editor, with a bunch of bells and whistles.
So there the work with the screen was carried out exclusively through the 02h BDOS function. That is, symbol-by-character exchange. Of course, in order to somehow remove the brakes, a bunch of funny “no-hay”s were used there. In general, the editor was universal, easily customized for different computers, with different screen geometries, etc. And scrolling. In general, the same Corvette had a lot of control codes. This includes inserting
a line with a text shift and deleting a line and also with a symbol in the line,
moving the cursor and so on...

PF*> Plus the wretchedness of the software itself.

And I had a Corvette. ;)

PF*> And IMHO there is no need to make a Corvette with its VM80 out of it.
From a spec? How to say. I don’t want to start a flame, but the Corvette will be a little better.
First of all, the keyboard is normal, reed switch. By keys. There are 5 functionalities, a small ESC button, etc. There is a right keyboard to control the cursor. Already
built-in GMD controller for 2 5" drives, printer and serial
port connector, which is also used for LAN. One of the PPA is used
exclusively for the user's purposes and its outputs + interrupt input (oh yes y
Corvette built-in interrupt controller) + clock output. Hy and a standard connector for the drive (the drive is not a tape recorder, but a drive on
cassettes, i.e. its filling is already designed for digital. Hy and finally video.
Separately, separate AD output). graphic. That is, they do not interfere with each other and you can even install 2 monitors if desired. 64x16 display icons are 8x16, i.e. beautiful and aesthetic, although there is a 32x16 mode. 16 colors.
I will repeat all this in the standard package of 8020. Of course, you can add
additional gadgets. And the software is also a lot of tasty ones, there is
BSVV, there is the possibility of sniffing connected ROM cassettes, finally a test. system
when you turn on the PC. Hy and finally the ability to work underSPM that opens up wide
horizons. Despite all the skimpiness of the university, I nevertheless had the tools - a good C compiler, a good ASM, an amazing text editor, compared to which the Writing Lexicon sucks. I don’t want to offend the Spectrum, but with my
respect for it as the First Ones, it is much inferior to the Corvette. Although of course the Z80 will be a little faster than the BM80, this is a small plus because a 10% difference in productivity gives absolutely nothing. Personally, for example, it doesn’t matter to me how long any operation will be performed - 10 minutes or 11.
Again, this is my opinion and I don’t want to start a flame “which is cooler”, I just
provided a brief and far from complete reference on Corvety.

Hello, Evgeny Onishko! I remember, 09 Apr 98 you went and launched
at me with this:

EO> It depends on what. On a corvette, say, CP/M works much faster than
EO> TR-DOS
EO> on the Spectrum. No matter what they say.

This means that the Condor company had crooked hands.

AS> I told you that the Spectrum is a Russian people's computer :)

This doesn't make it any easier for us =(

AS> However, if in the 50 richest countries in the world

50 richest countries? Offhand:... ? Five in America, five in Asia, 15 in
Europe... All. The rest live poorer than us, that is, in general, read, not live.

AS> found at 3-4

Well, and where do Spectrums come from in Japan?

AS> spektrumist, then IMHO these 150 are also worth a lot ;)

Even if so... What? What are they worth? Tomorrow they will take Speck off the shelf and take it to the landfill, and then they will launch C&C2 and, believe me, they will have no less fun.

Hello, Alexander Shherbakov! I remember, on April 10, 98, you took it and launched it at me with this:

AS> If you need it, I need it, then that’s enough.
AS> I did projects that were necessary only for me and I don’t feel an inferiority complex from this
AS>.

I have no complexes. Only now there is no time either. Institute... :-(

Not in Italy, but on one of the nodes in Italy! And if there is one spektrumist on each node, then you can live. :))
