Tasm 4.0 to ASCII
ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»
From Eugeny Anutchin → To All 21 March 1998
Hi, All !
Please tell me, kind people, how to convert files in TASM4.0 (XLD)
format to ASCII and, perhaps, back? There was a need to change the old
program, and look at the three-pixel font... What a horror!
And what are the *.ASM people writing for SPECCY on now?
Evgeniy.

In UNICON, convert from Tasma to ALASM format, and then you can run
ALASM <-> ASCII
ASCII can be loaded into Tasm 2.0, but the end marker must be inserted (I don’t
remember which one), and through Import 2.0 -> Tasm 4.0
Now there are a lot of ASMS, in Voronezh they write mainly in two:
Alasm 3.8
Tasm 4 by Rst #7
Alasm has a big disadvantage - there is no disk cache, loads slowly, but
single-pass.
See you! Write more!
Alexey.

I agree, imho the most convenient way.

no, he doesn’t have speckrum for a long time, he gave all the source codes to me, in fact
versions older than 7.1 from me.

In UNICON. K Alasm is included. *.C -> *.H, and *.H -> *.C
*.C is ASCII.

This is bad, very bad, on the Amiga imho gorge? :(
PF> actually versions older than 7.1 from me.
Listen, do you want to finish one feature in XAS, imho ASMA really lacks -
loading blocks on pages, well, like LCODE "sintbl", #11
^^^ page number.
If it is missing, then naturally it loads in #10.
Well, naturally, so that in HEX/DEC worked.
How do you like it?

My UNICON (version dated 05/17/96) does not output files with the extension .H at all,
only .A and .C. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or do you have a newer version? If it doesn't break, wash your UNICON, plz.

This feature has been built into ALASM 3.8 a long time ago, use it.
Sincerely, Konstantin.

I have nothing against ALASM, but I still prefer XAS + the speed of
assembly, and the sources in it.

It’s a pity, well, since I promised, then of course.

I don’t know about the people, but I personally I am writing in ZX-TASM. Today this is the
best editor+compiler, IMHO.

You are already the second... Can you throw Alasm 3.8 into the echo?

Thanks to everyone who responded and helped me. I will write to ALASM.

YESSSSS! Another! :)
Cool assembler, although STORM is much more promising...

Of course, throw it (it weighs a little). Personally, I'm interested in the version with 42x24
characters.

well, yes, at the end there are 128 byte pieces of code-font-code-font ;) so
faster printed.
