Most likely 30-31. At least that's what CR says.

With best wishes, Vladimir.

Hopefully, back in the ship. Or has the reputation of the participants already been tarnished since the last time? :)

Warm greetings, Slava!

From Felix Arzumanian To All 21 June 1997

Yeah, there will be a lot of people at the end of the month (when everyone needs to think about school and
work) just a ton :(
What does CR Inlight want to fail?

Slava, no one is sleeping. Now everything is becoming clear. As soon as it becomes more or less clear
we will inform you. I just wouldn’t like to become a hydrometeorological center.

With best wishes, Vladimir.

It looks like CR appreciated the flow of soaps with similar topics, therefore, IMHO, the event
will take place a week earlier. However, there is still time. As soon as the information is more or less settled, information will be released, the code of which (c) Cris has long been ready.
It is definitely clear to me personally, for example, that the participants themselves will be involved in the placement of participants this year. I'll now try to find out the price tags for hotels. Because, you know, last year I had a lot of fun running around and finding out “have you found a place to stay for the night?” Despite the fact that probably someone was running and looking for me with this same topic, and so we never found each other. And this despite the fact that people who voluntarily offered their living space stood nearby. But, oddly enough, the desire to spend the night among the participants and guests woke up mostly in the evening, when everything had already been sorted out. Therefore, there is no guarantee for accommodation; those who have/have had acquaintances/relatives are asked to inquire in advance from their
willingness to accommodate. What I mean is that in August the white nights are no longer so white.

With best wishes,Vladimir.

No, most likely, a week earlier. For my part, I can say, that
we would least like to see drunken corpses on the grass next to
the premises and even less in the premises itself although, in fairness, at the
event the corpses did not penetrate inside ;)

With best wishes, Vladimir.

What about foreigners/non-Petersburgers? If the date is not postponed, then 2 times less
people will come... ;(

So I’m trying to convince you that there is no time. Is it really difficult to find out the exact date once and for all? The end result will be that foreigners will not have time to obtain visas and will not arrive. :(

VL> As soon as the information is more or less settled, information will be released, the code

End of June...

VL> It is definitely clear to me personally, for example, that the placement of

Yeah. You think this will bring more people to E97 to the people? How, for example, will a coder from the Czech Republic look for a hotel? Can you imagine this despite the fact that he doesn’t know Russian, doesn’t know his way around the city, and doesn’t have any acquaintances. And how are you going to announce the results in Russian? And those 20 foreigners who don’t know Russian? Do you have a _good_ English speaker?

For example, Jordan/Reaction/Rush will fly in from Poland. Who will meet him in
an unfamiliar city? We’ll figure it out in August?

In short: right now we urgently need to agree on all the rules and
plans. Otherwise, it will be too late.

VL> I’ll try to find out the price tags for hotels.

Okay, only. keep in mind that it's noteveryone can pay for a normal hotel...

[smth was devastated...]

I'm not sure if this will help. It all comes down to opportunity. It is necessary to at least
give everyone one form (printed on a printer), where all
participants of all compos will be and where he can evaluate each work in the column on the right. This will only streamline and speed up the verification process. Now, as far as I understand, this
is not there, so what can we talk about if there is not even the necessary minimum...

PS: I am sure that again there will not be enough time for anything on the Spectrum and again
they will play out on the music compo ;(

Well, this is far from the worst... There are still debates PC+AMMY VS ZX and fairy tales about
little onesboys who sold ZX (for 30 pieces of silver)... :)

Why not use the "EUROVISION" method, let's say only
compo participants vote, and give marks from 1 to 10. As a result, voting will be
much simpler (although the counting will need to be automated somehow :( ), and even this
can be done while another compo is in progress (say The MFX competition is underway, those who
participated in the previous competition, i.e. for example GFX, vote)

the person will be removed from the hall, and, if possible, for good. Naturally
"without trial or investigation." If his actions even indirectly entail
some kind of material damage, the conversation will be _completely_ different.

However, there is a way out. People who officially sign a paper in front of witnesses stating that they take personal financial responsibility for all
equipment in the hall, the hall itself - can drink. I'm only afraid that it may happen that by selling their apartment they are unlikely to get out of the situation.

Is it a little gloomy?
