Sprinter and Amiga

ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

From Andrew Savichev To All 8 January 1998

Hi, All!

Since here lately there have been attempts by people sitting on two
chairs at the same time to “run into” Peters, I would like to note the following:
1) Amiga are rather distant relatives of Macintoshes, NEXT and other PowerPCs and they
are characterized by all the coolness of this kind, BUT absolutely nothing
follows from this, the only illusion of kinship with Spectrums is that Sir Clive's last
computer, Sinclair QL, was made for 68,000, but he
“buried” it:( ;
2) Amiga has not 8 rubles, but 32 rubles. processor and command system not even remotely reminiscent of the z80 (z180,z84c15);
3) A500 is the weakest of its kind, and Sprinter is the strongest of its kind, compers.

If one of our users chooses a comper based on the capability/price ratio,
then of course ;)... they won’t be in our ranks for long, but why shouldn’t they
In this case, not to acquire stump-II and not to become virtual? :).
SUMMARY: the points of contact with the Amiga world are only ideological and algorithmic
(and even then the latter are not always the case, since the architecture sometimes already “puts pressure”
on the algorithms)
2Peters: spektrumists are with you!

Happy hunting everyone! Andrey S./CGS
