Spectrum must remain Spectrum!

Hi, All!

> AI>.

AG> We need to somehow “attract” low-income dummies and lamers.
? What is the meaning of “poor”? this is capable of paying
1000 rubles. for a “poor” comper?! :)

AG>After all, a person who only knows how to start a racket...
...doesn't have to have a Spectrum! Especially a Sprinter!!!

AG> He needs a beautiful interface in exciting games.
IMHO there are exciting games on ANY platform!

AG> And this part of the “computer creatures” just “calls the tune”,
AG> since it pays. So, a new processor and graphics mode
AG> (the same analogue of 13h) would not hurt at all, but rather the opposite.
AG> And the fact that there will be no curb, so it’s not a problem.
There are no words...for me. :(

AG>Three Knowledgeable people! Enlighten me:
AG> When will the sprinter go on general sale and how much will it
AG> cost (approximately on average).
That’s where I’d start :)
It’s price is clearly unaffordable for low-income people, because... for low-income people it is easier
to buy an AT286 or a Pentagon-128.
And the price... seemed to be calledabout 1000 rub. for the system unit, the finished board itself is about 600 rubles. Sales are already in their second month.
Only the people from Peters themselves can say for sure.
Only if they find your question under this SUBJ ;)
And finally... the main thrill of the Sprinter is that it is not only a Spectrum!

With respect, Andrey Savichev/CGS

And what does this mean? only that they weren’t spektrumists!
How many of them have been dumped, it would be fine for Pentiums, otherwise even for sega-megas :(
They need toys - that’s all! :( If a neurocomputer appears tomorrow (and it is already
appearing, fortunately so far at a price of over $10,000) ;) and they will forget about the Pentium,
as it is now they forgot about Specky.
Sergey, I’m afraid that this is your “end of the world” :(
To those who haven’t heard anything: in the West there is a colossal crash and panic in the camp
manufacturers of “traditional computers”, be prepared for the fact that in
two or three years neither Pentiums, nor Merceds, nor other power pies will simply be worth nothing
and accordingly the writing of software for them will end and This whole market of pirated compacts will simply collapse! So think hard
before you throw away the Spectrum! I wanted to upgrade the four, but now it’s time to think about it, it looks like I’ll have to seize the moment when it will be possible to buy both compacts and hardware for them at a cheap price;)

The 20th century is ending, guys, and with it it looks like it’s not sad, end
and "traditionalcomputers", at least for those of us for whom it was
just a toy. ;)

> At the same time, all my friends who are on natural SPECTRUMS (i.e. 128 and
>48), even having bought IBM-joint computers, do not forget ZX.
Spectrumists remain spektrumists! :)

> In principle, development necessary. But not to that extent. It’s no longer practical.
Progress doesn’t ask: “Do you want to go into space?”
They’ll put on a spacesuit, put a blaster in your hands and go spread civilization
to other worlds ;)

>Why do I need to buy something for crazy money, if for the same money I’ll buy
>a more capable 486 DX4 100? I specially calculated the prices - there is a problem with the monitor. But you can save up for it. So, gentlemen, I don’t know about you, but I will stay with those who are sitting on 128 and 48 ZXs. de jure standards, things are
very bad for us ;)

>So be it!
Amen!

Hi All!
Hello, Max & Alex! for the kind of money

AI>Exactly said.
Again, only slogans:(
Well, they created real.speccy...(in Relcom, by the way, not is gated).
Well, we’ll each run into “our own corner.” What good will this do for
Spectrum?

And what the Sprinter doesn’t like, they don’t _forcibly_ impose it on anyone.
They honestly told about him what he is.
But without emotions, but “in a technical way.”
If he gets developed as a “non-Spectrum”, then it will be possible to classify him as
to "mutants", etc. In the meantime, it runs exclusively Spectrum programs, with REAL codes, without any recoding. Addresses of some ports are intercepted (all due to the fact that the 84c15 is not a processor, but a microcontroller).
External devices have been added that are not present on today's Spectrums.
This situation is, of course, annoying. the publicbecause the quantity
of these “additives” has already turned into quality (about the same as it was
when moving from 48 to 128).
Others are annoyed that you cannot, by adding something to your Spectrum,
get a Sprinter.
This, of course, should have been foreseen. The people in Russia are conservative
in essence.
As for the price, a fully functional board costs 600 rubles.
Compare with AY, which now costs 40-60 rubles.
Or with a simple pissish sound card for 120 rubles.
Or with a screw for 400 rubles.
(And remember that the last 3 things are mass produced and
they have already been produced in sufficient quantities to cover the costs of
the development of these things.)
And the list can be continued, but there is no point, because everything is expensive now!
Because our incomes are too insignificant :( for 80-85% of the population.
Now there are opportunities to make cheaper things, but these opportunities
arise only _today_. Therefore, hardware using them
will appear only tomorrow ;) and then only if the harmmakers show sufficient
agility and RISK to invest money.
If not, then all further upgrades will be at the level of individual
devices for the Pentagon and Scorpio. There is no third option!

I urge NOW everyone to “not boil” and “not to split.”
Glands come and go, the people of Spectrum and Spectrum itself remain! :)

Sincerely, AndreyСавичев/CGS

There is no computer. There is an interface. And it’s not 10 thousand and it’s not for sale yet.
And neurocomputers are, essentially speaking, accountants ;-) The brain is biological?
Yes. What kind of work is it - receiving instructions and counting? Yes. And what happens?
Neurocomputer! ;-)

Quantum computers at least exist, which cannot be said about neurocomputers.
Moreover, the architecture and design of the system are so unusual that only a very incompetent person can even
talk about
their distribution.
