From Sergei Novikov → To All 19 March 1998
Hello Andrew!
The subject never arrived. Is he big? You can send me soap (100K/day,
25K/section) or Internet (old...@i-connect.ru) - I’ll throw it in the firebox. But it’s better to immediately throw
into the echo.

This was still missing from the echo.

Exactly, in the echo it was missing....So where is it?

Well, at least tell me the URL where I can get it!

Kindly wash it on zab...@beta.math.msu.su with an attachment. And then I and

Well, who has this echo, and who doesn’t. And everyone wants to listen (well, except for real people). Yes, it doesn’t seem to be very big, and especially since the xm packs very well.
By the way, the authors of digital editors on the Spectrum have one piece of advice. I recommend
when compiling Mouzon, convert all its instruments into Delta-view (I’ll explain what this is below), after which they are packaged somewhat better.
Now I’ll explain what delta-view is. Everything is very simple: instead of the sample byte itself, the difference relative to the previous byte is stored. Perhaps I didn’t explain it clearly, but here’s a piece of code in assembler that converts the delta view into the normal one:
ld hl,sample
ld bc,length
ld a,(hl)
inc hl
dec bc
L1 add a,(hl)
ld (hl),a
ld e,a
inc hl
dec bc
ld a,c
or b
ld a,e
jr nz,L1
I think any coder can write a program that does the opposite.
With respect, Roman aka Megus of BrainWave association.

I'm sorry, but I can't help - the contents of the screw are frozen for an indefinite
time due to the lack of a SCSI controller.

For example, the SPECTRUM file doesn’t work for me, what should I now yell
so that everything that flies over it will be posted here?

It doesn’t matter what size, XMs don’t belong here.
