From Andrey Isaev To All 17 January 1998

I welcome you, dear All!
The following story happened: a sprat at 14400 bps fell into my hands and I tried
to hook it up to me in the place of my 2400, but alas, it didn’t work ;( on the sprat
there was not a single jumper and two addresses were involved
A10 and A11, so you were told by dear All how this can be cured, if of course
it can be cured at all ;( Well, that’s it until the next connection!!!

Most likely it won’t be cured. :( If in place of a working modem on the Spectrum, connected according to the Kondratiev scheme, a modem working on the IBM is also plugged in and
it doesn’t work on spec - which means it’s not fate. Or rather, not different, but their combination is different.

With all sorts of regards and wishes.
Igor.

As for the jumpers - “you ate something.” (C) :))) If everything is as you described, then, most likely, this is a “plug and play” modem... And you won’t be able to set it up...
As for the addresses, you need to provide land for them. In the address space of the modem, only signals A0-A9 are significant (other than 0)...

Good luck! Evgeny.
