AS> Actually, “I repented” of the fact that I probably “threw out the
AS> baby with the bathwater.” Without "voluntary-forced persecution" the idea of a community
AS> of spektrumists is not so bad.

You see :)

AS> Only it should have different goals,

The goals are exactly these. Without this, the Spectrum will continue to bend, slowly but surely. SOS (draft title) is the only opportunity to support the authors on Spectrum. After all, if good author's works are well paid, rapid development of game making can begin - Spectrum will live for a long time.

AS> and the size of membership fees is smaller,

There is nowhere less. What are you doing? If people cannot give the price of 2 bottles of beer (or 30 cigarettes
;) in a month for the benefit of Spectrum - what is it? I’m telling you, in Moscow
a loaf of black bread costs a third of this amount (10 thousand).

AS> and of course no Pol Pot’s oppression ;)

Okay, a fighter for workers’ rights ;) This is not oppression at all. It's just that only works of association members will be accepted for distribution, in which non-members of the association are not mentioned. Quite understandableand understandable.

AS> After all, we live in a free country :) I didn’t give up my idea,
AS> but here’s what I thought: no one believes in the reality of SpectrumUnion, and
AS> potential organizers, including the future Chairman
AS> do not want to get involved in this, not feeling genuine interest from
AS> the broad masses of the public.

Well, well. I’m telling you: it’s not feasible: 50% will never “get it”, and
the other 50 won’t even want to “get it.”

AS> So, so that they discover this interest
AS> and, accordingly, expend effort themselves, I propose:

AS> 1) bring the idea of creating a “Free Society of Spectrumists” or
AS> whatever it’s called, to the broad masses;

Any cultural sample, in this case, the idea must be accepted first
by a small group (in this case, echo subscribers), and only then conveyed to the masses.
First, you need to explain what’s what to echo subscribers, and then conduct a survey
among them, which will decide the fate of the project.

AS> 2) it must be somehow different from DOSAF, i.e. at least
AS> to report on the expenditure of people's money;

Well, how could we do without it? Everything will be under control.

AS> 3) must still have a Charter and be registered as a public
AS> association of citizens;

Oh, what the heck. :)

AS> 4) don’t start it at firstgrandiose financially intensive projects;

The first test will take place on demos, releases and other frivolous things. And then
money will accumulate and everything will settle down, the mechanism for financing authors will be improved.

AS> 5) in connection with the latter: a) do not promise the people “freebies”;

Why not? So, in the end, it will be.

AS> b) introduce a one-time annual membership fee in the amount of 30 rubles. new

Stupidity. There's no point in starting a project for that kind of money - it won't help the authors. On the contrary, it will only reduce their income. THE MAIN IDEA OF THE PROJECT: if
raise a lot of money (little by little from a large number of people), then you can make the release of
software on the Spectrum a profitable business, adequately pay the work of the authors ($4000 for
ChV - easy, since games of this type are not released often), therefore increase
the release of software on the Spectrum.

AS> c) be voluntary without any threats and statements, such as “We
AS> are good, and you are all bullshit and to...”

Voluntarily. But if you don’t pay, they won’t hear about you from the software distributed by the association. They won't accept your work at the demoparty (how else can you get rid of freeloaders)?
In the target line, everyone who is a member of the association will have a
corresponding mark with a number on the list - it will immediately be clear whether you are talking to a
freeloader or a real Sinclairist. Another way to get rid of
freeloaders who willreceiving software, but not paying, no. Moreover, we need to strengthen enforcement measures for freeloaders in every possible way. To pay (read “pay
authors”) was more profitable.

AS> 6) if 40 people join, then consult and decide
AS> WHAT to spend 1200 rubles, if 400 - then 12,000,

;) And even if 1000 - 30,000*1,000 = 30 million old per year! Less than $5000. Are you laughing? This is enough to pay for one ChW + a couple of issues of the magazine. In a year!
In short, an even greater decline for the scene. With my approach, for a small fee, you can
finance all the cool magazines and games + afford a couple of projects like ChV
in a year!

AS> and to squeeze 120,000 new ones out of people a year is somehow....

Who to squeeze out for? For association leaders? For software authors +
releasers + demomakers + all those who do something necessary for the Spectrum.
In other words, this money will come back! Only from ordinary users - those who
do the right things.

AS> in a word, I am against this. People must decide for themselves what to
AS> buy with their hard-earned money.

In critical times for a country, a strong, almost
dictatorial hand is always required to lead the country out of the crisis. It's the same here. Let us
continue to advocate for freedom of expression (read: indulge freeloaders and
pirates) - Spectrum will continue to die. Users will continue to leave due tolack of news, the authors will not release this news due to the lack of users. In just
words - SOS is the only way out. It's not too late.

²All: What do you think? 10 pieces a month is not a pity?

With God's blessing, Sergei Novikov aka Spirit^dR^sNG
