Scorpio and Sprinter

Hi, All!
Hello, Dmitry!

Sergey, then list all the expanded graphs. modes, plz!
IMHO, these 320x200, after 256x192 “somehow on the side”, “from the evil one”
In fact, of course, non-integer screens scalable in density
are a common thing, but how much more painful it is to convert graphics, all that remains is
to “cut off” the margins, but Spectrum already has a border ;)
Personally, I prefer according to the heart 256x192 16 (or 256 colors) and 512x384 (mono, with
attributes)

And what does the Sprinter have to do with it? A little something - right away a Sprinter ;)
The fact that Scorpios exist is very cool, and their prices are pleasant, you can’t say anything. Moreover, Peters, to her own detriment, significantly distanced herself from
Scorpios so that they have “where to add” - this is gentlemanly, IMHO.

This + video support would suit the majority!!! Video support for dynamic 3D games,
animations, etc.
It is also very necessary (for a video helmet) to support a stereo screen, i.e.
you give twice 256x192 at least 16 color ones. By the way, Tamagotchi will soon be given to us
(since the production volumes are gigantic-Asian)
a bunch of cheap LCDs with a resolution of 256x192 (or 320 x 200? I should clarify) -
so the dream of Yu. Matveev and Sir Clive is getting closer!
I foresee the appearance of a video helmet for the Spectrum! :)

>Not at all. AG makes a small, cheap board (probably ;), and not a monster that costs three rubles or an Amiga.
He’s not a monster, Dim, 8 rubles. although turbocharged, fast memory, a bunch of
standard devices - just “a good Spectrum for whites” :)
If they had entered into an agreement with Zonov, then it would have been “what the doctor
ordered”: a little simpler and a little cheaper.
For myself, I formulated and I remember writing to you: as long as the hard makers
don’t have the desire to “swim in the ocean” - everything will be fine, otherwise Titanic or
Vase are doomed:(

I won’t use a video processor in my development yet (although I already have ideas in this regard - for example, for drawing points, lines, circles, etc.). Now I
would like to make a board that would simply increase the number of colors in one
acquaintance, without affecting the main memory of the computer and without redoing
the circuits.

AS> Yes, he’s not a monster Dim, percent 8r. although turbocharged, fast memory, a bunch of

By “monster” I mean ugliness, not sophistication - an 8-bit
“computer of the third millennium” ;( Explain further? I think it’s not worth it... Moreover
moreover, I can only repeat what was said by Max Romanov, with whom
I on this issue I agree 99% I leave one percent just in case ;) and
I just don’t consider the Peters “MMM-2”, in my opinion, talented guys are just
experimenting with hardware, completely unaware of the realities, doing monkey work
. But a miracle may happen - simple, not “white”, spektrumists will start
buying this business, and (I’m not saying this at all, but history has a habit
of repeating itself) this could accelerate the death of Speccy, as the Sinclair QL accelerated it.

Scorpionists... Let Zonov deny this ;)

Sinclair QL is still alive in its modifications and gets along well
with Amigami and Atari, so well that nowhere in Europe, with the exception of
Britain, Spain, Portugal and some countries of Eastern Europe and the Baltics
There are no traces of Spectrums on the z80 left, Vsevolod had to explain for a long time
why we want to create relcom.comp.speccy, not relcom.comp.sinclair ;)
The Sprinter is an infinite number of times closer to the classic Spectrum48 than the
Sinclair QL. The only thing that was done in vain, IMHO, is the graphics of too
high resolution - this is an obvious “nod” towards “spectro-amishniks” and
people who “can’t afford to have both an Amiga and a Spectrum.”
Thus, between Scorpio and Sprinter there is an “extra energy
level” that can be occupied by someone else ;)
It could be the processor 20 MHz, with an IDE interface, COM ports, with
video/music/arithmetic interfaces, 8-16 Megas of page memory, it
can have a high-capacity software flash, work with standard writing
peripherals, have a Scorpio or KAY bus (or even some new one).
Advanced graphics no more than 2x256x192 (256/16 colors), 512x384 (16 colors).
The price is a little more than Scorpio and a little less than Sprinter.
Who will make it: Zonov, Peters or someone else, I don’t know. But what will they do?exactly ;)
Sincerely, Andrey S.

Yeah, a video processor, yes GS, plus a 14400 sprat.... So this, IMHO, is no longer
Spectrum, far from Spectrum.... Ah! I forgot, there’s also a stereo helmet! This is finally cool!

About the video processor - yes, but about Shprot - and, in fact, why "no longer
Spectrum"? The architecture does not change at the same time.
Good luck! Evgeny.
