Scene!

ZXNet echo conference «zx.spectrum»

From Roman Petrov To All 14 January 1998

Hello! Dear Artem!

At 11:24, Wednesday January 07 1998 there was such a thing that
Artem Haritonov scribbled a letter to Andrew Savichev:

AH> PS: Thank you, gentlemen! Everything that can be done using tape (I mean your
AH> works, releases, other programs) must be done!
But I really support this - if the authors have a desire to somehow
promote their products to the West, then they cannot do without the Tape version.

AH> There are ideas for creating a scene and the principle of relationship/organization
AH> of Spectrumist life on example c64! If you have thoughts/ideas/questions -
AH> let's discuss in the echo. Stop comparing your pussies over trifles (I'm a major,
AH> you lmd... sux)!
This is a very interesting idea. I would like to know what exactly is meant by the word 'scene' (well, I'm not familiar with the C64). In principle
I imagine this as a community of people working for the benefit of the platform
(in our case - Spectrum), and these people keep in touch
with each other: they exchange information about developments, news from abroad,
support healthy competition (i.e. do not disclose any secrets of their group - this should be their inalienable right, and they do not go so far as to suppress competitors). With truly healthy competition
between talented groups, if a game is written, two (or more)
excellent ones will be bornmade games (since everyone tried to overtake the competitor, not knowing about his plans), and in the case of systems - two (or more) excellent and
powerful systems. Well, this is my idea of the scene. I would like to hear other people's opinions.

With respect, Roman aka Megus of Brain Wave corp.

[Team ZX-Spectrum] [Team Agatha Christie] [Team Metallica] [Team Iron Maiden]

... Or are you unforgiven too?

What kind of competition? Ugh! Can anyone compete with the scene? Yes, the scene
is the elite, and nothing can be more elite!

What games? The scene doesn’t need games! The scene needs demos, and nothing but demos! And games
the scene plays only on the Amiga. Yes! Amiga is the most major machine. The whole scene
respects the Amiga!

The stage is not interested in the opinions of other people! Especially fidorasov! The scene doesn't respect
Fida!

PS: I don't think I forgot anything... This is the opinion I got about the scene after
Nlight97. Of course, there are pleasant exceptions...

Sincerely, CAPTAIN/56.

From Alex Petrovskii To All 22 January 1998

Hallo, Dmitry.

With the quiet rustling of the HDD Mon January 19 1998 19:01, Dmitry Meniaylov filled in for
Roman Petrov:

SH> no! The scene is major people! Only majors. Whoever is not a major is a lame.
SH> What is not done on stage sucks! What was done by the scene is cool by
SH> definition!

SH> You're not a major! If you are a major, you will have your own opinion!

Who remembers what major means? I remember.... How it is at DDT
.... major boys are driving along the streets.
.... on daddy's Volga there are major boys.
IMNSHO and not only that, the major is a wealthy and narrow-minded person capable only of
a simple life. Can be equated to barren flowers (if cultural).
Hmm, in real life I would not call myself a major....

With respect, Shor Kan.
In this world, only two things are infinite: the Universe and human stupidity.

Alex is that you?
...why were you telling Dmitry Meniaylov about Re: Scene! ?

Major (slang from the English MAJOR)

1. main
2. major (music)
3. major

you’re certainly not points 1, 2 or 3...

p.s. you need to think with your head, and not listen to some ridiculous songs
.

Good Luck...

Me too. Actually, these were the words of an anal irritant in a blue jacket.

Sincerely, Dmitry.
