It's not difficult to take from other platforms, we have to do our own.
SIMs and IDE hard drives okay, that's it standard But the VGA cards - it’s better to do something of your own.
Otherwise it will turn out like mine - I needed a Scorpova board, I gave the guy for it
386 SX33 with an on-board meter, and he took it only because he already had an IDE
hard drive, a HAYS modem and a Mini-Tower. He also said thank you and treated him to a pig.
And now he’s installing emulators, he’s all cool. Soon he will come to the echo... Or maybe not. No, I probably won’t connect it to Fido. LMD - on I-net!

I think you made the right decision. 386 board can now be bought for 10
rubles. And the Scorpio fee - fig.

Where are the mothers for $2? I want those too.
Or is it from the category of “you can buy it, but you don’t have to buy it”? :)

I was offered for $20.

Now I’ll say something disgusting.
On 386 you can read fidosh mail and not stress that the disk is not enough and the screen is not
80x25...
And for a cult computer, Scorpio is IMHO too heavy...
Cultists are 85% dem caretakers and gamers...
There are also programmers, but in a larger percentage they do not reach out for different
Cache/GS/512K...
The state of the peripherals on Spec is even more of a mess than on a PC.
On a PC, every piece of hardware plugs into PCI/ISA/IDE/SCSI and somehow works.
If it’s a modem, it’s always in the Serial addresses. If it's some kind of tweeter - again their
addresses.
And our spec hardmakers keep everything secret so that the enemy doesn't suddenly start
writing software on them...
Or they will do it and use it silently. A year or two. And then they shout - and we’ve had this for 2 years already
we have a lot of software...
It’s funny, gentlemen! In the absence of a standard and the desire to develop it, Spec
will never be able to shake the PeCe market.
Imho, now is a favorable environment for developing a standard.
The Scorpion/Sprinter alliance can become tired within itself and issue recommendations
to other developers. Moreover, it seems to me that the Peters are more willing to
negotiate than the Scorpios.
Let at least first there be a standard for operations with memory and video system.
More to come...
With best wishes - Andrey Khristov (ha...@robin.alt.ru)

For $20 I bought 486 PCI + AMD 133.
Yesterday they offered 486 VLB + DX40 + VLB Video + 8Mb for 150 rubles.

What!! Who doesn't stretch this!!??!! What are you doing, my friend! On the contrary, those who first of all reach for features are programmers, in order to make their life easier. Well, of course
I exclude those who are particularly slow in the tank or those whose
opportunities/circumstances do not allow it. Just look at the same epilogue in Over the Top! Didn't you get sick of the configs? Yes, ask the coders in the echo what kind of cars they have!
Assuming a cry like: yes, I’ve been writing all my life on 128 and nothing, then my hair
fell out and my height decreased by 20cm, I answer> What is more pleasant to write a program that
occupies 4 pages, on 128kb or on 512? A-a-a-and you don’t write such programs, your code takes up 4 kb and does not spoil any memory area except system
variables. Well then, I promise that your height will decrease by another 20 cm andit is also possible
teeth loss!!!
AK> started writing software on them... Or they will do it and use it silently. A year or two. And

Hmm, what don’t you understand about the new hard drive? Imho, the GS is a little sophisticated, but
there is a description, read and do it! And no one is silent. And everything else comes down to the banal, like OUT (C),A...IN A,(C). Hmm, and even if you installed a new feature and you are a programmer, you won’t be trained on how to make it work?! I don’t believe it!
The main thing is to set yourself and what’s the use of me shouting at the top of my lungs how to
work with GS if you don’t have it.
AK> It’s funny, gentlemen! In the absence of a standard and the desire to develop it,
AK> Speck will never be able to shake the PeCe market.
This market can be shaken by the PC itself, or bG!
AK> recommendations to other developers. Moreover, it seems to me that the Peters

What is the standard?! Imho it turned out to be nonsense with ports on scorpion/atm/profi.
Pentagon is the winner as always! Well, what’s wrong with everything else? That we have
a bunch of GS type sound cards and each has its own standard? Or a bunch of turbo circuits
which are switched on at different ports? Or maybe your kempston is not being polled by
#1F??? Right now I’ll come up with a new feature, say 3dfx, adapt it to convenient ports, and develop a set of commands. And I'll release it. ANDsubsequent developers of similar hardware
will already adapt to my standard, because it will not be beneficial for them
the incompatibility of their card with programs for my feature! Of course, they may have a bunch of additional capabilities, but not in conflict with the original standard! Imho this is how the Sprinter
is built.
AK> Let at least first there be a standard for operations with memory and
AK> video system. Further - more...
Yes, memory imho is a terrible thing, but in computers with 128-512 it is definitely #7FFD!!!
What's wrong with the video system? All my life I thought that the 1st screen on the 128th spec
starts with #4000 or #C000 on one tricky page, and the 2nd one also with #C000, but
on another tricky page, was I wrong!!!???

:) And I sold one 486DX4-100 for $50...
And they offer me a Scorpio board (the oldest, without turbo). For $10. I'll probably take - VG93, AY, Z80 - a bunch of useful microcircuits (the board is not working).
The microcircuits are worn out. Does anyone by any chance have a diagram?
